Perfect romantic getaway for a couple wanting to getaway or cozy retreat for a small family looking to explore the Redwoods and beaches. Located just 1/2 mile south of the seaside village of Trinidad yet feels like a world away! Raven House is located on the beautiful Redwood-lined Scenic Drive, situated on a bluff, a mere 60 feet up from the ocean. Soak up the beauty of the sea & sunsets from the hot tub, observing the passing whales and seals, and the occasional porpoise. Please note - Guest reserving this home must be 25 years or older, be staying at the property the entire time and will be considered the responsible party for this booking. Sorry, this house is NOT pet friendly, no exceptions.

Let the smooth sounds of the waves lull you to sleep in the in the upstairs bedroom suite with a Queen Tempurpedic bed, 32 inch t.v., reading nook, balcony with gorgeous views of Trinidad Bay and attached bathroom with a stall shower.

The open concept main level room allows guests to take in the majestic ocean views while relaxing on the sofa (Queen sleeper sofa for 2 children) or dining at the Redwood island. There is a 1/2 bathroom conveniently located off the open living room/ kitchen. Plenty of games provided for easy entertainment or step outside and watch for whales and sea lions from the deck. This home has no beach access but is a quick 1/2 mile drive to Trinidad State Beach and Old Home Beach. It is also less than 2 miles from Baker Beach, Luffenholtz Beach, Houda Point and Moonstone Beach. Explore all this seaside area has to offer! Travelers looking to explore the Redwoods only have to drive 20 minutes North to spend the day hiking in Redwood National Park. If staying in is more your cup of tea, warm up by the gas fireplace and listen to your own music with the I-pod docking station/CD player or cuddle up on the sofa and enjoy free Wi-Fi and Cable on the 42 inch flat-screen TV.

Cook gourmet meals together in a fully equipped kitchen decorated with mosaic art, with all the utensils you need for a meal together. The Redwood slab island is a one of a kind art piece and serves as the kitchen table with bar stools. The kitchen is fully equipped and well stocked with a toaster, blender, dishwasher, microwave and gas range. If grilling is what you enjoy, there is a gas barbecue on the deck! Just relax in this very private environment breathing the clean, ocean air. Guests have access to a washer/dryer available outside on a covered patio.

Nearby are excellent restaurants, nature trails, surfing, kayaking and fishing options - to mention only a few of the amenities of this beautiful Northern California area! Though once you enter the Raven House, you may never want to leave!

Perfect getaway

Driveway in is a bit interesting. Nice oceanside cottage. There is no access directly to the ocean though. Several beaches very close by and central location for a lot of area attractions. Was a perfect home base for our family to explore the area. Bonus was watching the sea lions on the rocks out front- I recommend brining binoculars but once you spot them they are a lot of fun. There were several there for our entire visit. Loved the vaulted ceiling in the bedroom and balcony. Small hot tub was perfect for us- wouldn’t work well if you’re tall. Kitchen has a lot of beautiful detail with the tile work and redwood countertop. Overall, nice clean and comfortable place to stay.

Amazing views… amazing place

Fantastic place to stay. Place was very well set up and has everything you need for a longer stay. Trinidad is a great town to explore and you are a short drive from the redwoods and beaches. Very clean.

We got married in the red woods just north of Trinidad and this house was amazing! Great hot tub to see the sunset, cute small house off the beaten path. We already went to go back!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at the Raven House! The view was breathtaking! The home was clean and well stocked. We have zero complaints. A couple quick points to note if you book--The driveway is right after a hard turn and easy to miss. The entrance says 150 and 160, rather than 140 and 150 which was what the instructions said.-Bring binocoluars so that you can watch for whales and check out all the seals that lounge on the rocks below the house.-If you want to use the hot tub, turn the temperature up as soon as you get there or you will be disapointed with a not-so-hot tub when you decide to use it. But don't forget to turn it back down when you leave. :)-They have a notebook in the house that has a ton of great information about places to eat and things to do. We found it very helpful.-The little market in town is great if you want to cook your own food at the house. Check the supplies in the house before you go though.-The construction next door was a non-issue for us. Don't let it be a turn off to booking.If we are ever back in the area, we will stay again! Loved it.

Redwood springbreak

This was a return trip for us. We'd stayed at the raven house over 10 years ago before we had children. We brought them back for spring break to see the redwoods. It was so fun to come back. The house was even better with the addition of the hottub!

Cute cottage escape

Secluded and serene stay, off the beaten path and out of site from the road and neighboring properties. Right on the oceans doorstep, however no access to the water unfortunately. Beautiful view and everything you need for a comfortable get-away. Commanding sounds of the waves and peaceful bell of the harbor buoy in the distance. Ornate finish grade redwood interior and simple amenities to furnish the home. Wonderful place to visit for a taste of the Trinidad vibe.

Million dollar view

This was such an awesome trip. Trinidad is in a central location to many beautiful hikes. The raven house had the most beautiful view. That is what really makes this place so memorable. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bed was really comfortable. The upstairs bathroom could use a little love, but it was just fine for our needs. Be careful about locking the bottom lock on the door because it locks behind you. I unfortunately got locked out in my pajamas with no shoes or cell phone when my husband was at the gym. The host was very quick to respond and rescue me when my husband finally got back. Trinidad was very close and we enjoyed the pizza place and local cafe. Thank you for the awesome stay!

Bare basics

Property has a beautiful view of the water, very nice kitchen. Not many extras for the price. We would have appreciated extra, nicer bath towels, extra toilet paper and a couple of additional blankets for sitting out in the mornings. We also were not aware until after we booked that construction was going on next door from 9-5 each day. And while the view was great, there was no shade to escape it inside and the afternoon sun was very bright.

Really awesome property and views

This is one of the best spots we’ve stayed in through VRBO. Awesome location close to Trinidad with amazing views of the harbor. Really nice house, great 2 person hot tub, quiet road, nice windows and views, solid deck and seating areas. A couple things that could use an update to really hit the mark include: broken handle on main floor bathroom door, very dirty bathroom fans, and a really tight shower. That said, we’d stay here again in a heartbeat. Very nice place. Appreciate the opportunity to enjoy the space.

The perfect rental with only a couple of glitches.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The view from the sliding glass doors is magnificent. If the weather disappoints, claustrophobia won’t be a problem! The kitchen is fully equipped. Operating the washing machine requires an engineering degree, but Ryan was quick to rescue. The internet was out for 24 hours, not a fault of Trinidad, but evidently not unusual when the cable company serves 200. We are older, non-techies, and did follow the excellent directions to the house, find the key, use the heat......all but the washing machine.

The windows up stairs were so dirty had to leave open so it didn't look like you were through the fog,cobwebs up stairs and some mildew in the hot-tub. The door handle on main floor bathroom was falling off and chair on lower deck was broken, again Great location but for the price I do expect more my wife and I have rented a lot of homes location top 5 home quality bottom 5. Beautiful location

Great spot for a home base while visiting Prairie Creek Redwoods. Photos very accurate. Solid kitchen for meals, good wifi (even when no signal in town), amazing harbor views for watching the tides, birds, seals, crabbing boats. Best for just one couple, makes for a great romantic getaway. Note only parking for one vehicle.

Beautiful property with stunning views. All family in agreement nicest holiday rental we ever stayed in. Hope to make it back. My only gripe is why are we required to bring out rubbish, and strip linen and put with towels in machine. Should be covered in cleaning fee. We left the property very gently used and clean. Not in small part to our efforts.
