Characteristic 18th century stone house in the green forest of Artò, a small district of Madonna del Sasso, above Lake Orta and a stone's throw from Lake Maggiore. The house is located on the ancient Via Francigena and was once home to pilgrims to Rome from the north. There is a spring on the property and the owners occasionally live in an outbuilding. The house has two floors, kitchen and living room on the ground floor, two bathrooms, one with toilet and washbasin, one with bathtub and washbasin and two bedrooms on the second floor. The beautiful outdoor area is shared with the owners and is equipped for outdoor dining. On the lake you can go hiking, visit museums and ancient palaces, golf and tennis courts, kitesurfing, wakesurfing and skiing in winter on the Mottarone. Boats from Orta to the nearby island of San Giulio, the so-called stone island, a small jewel of the Middle Ages. The romantic town of Arona is 27 km away and Stresa, overlooking the beautiful Lake Maggiore, is 32 km away. The access road to the accommodation has a steep ascent of about 50m (unsuitable for sports cars) and then leads about 100 metres through flat terrain in a field (muddy). The fireplace is only decorative.
