About this property

San Francisco Ranch

Sitting at the base of the Spanish Peaks Mountains in the Hoajatoya Valley, the San Francisco Ranch is blessed with stunning natural beauty and vistas. As you enter through the gate and drive down the quarter mile tree line drive you'll be greeted by cattle, horses, deer, elk, wild turkeys and countless species of native birds feasting on fruit trees. You'll be taken back by the endless green pastures framed by stunning views of the West Spanish Peak and the Sangre de Cristo mountains to the west. The natural springs and creeks that abound on the property, along with rich soils make the land burst with greenery, flowers and wildlife that make the San Francisco Ranch feel like the Garden of Eden! This truly is one of the most beautiful places in all of Colorado! As you turn into the circular drive you'll find the two homes on the property that are works of art! The homes were built in 1891 and 1920 and boast character and craftsmanship seldom seen in modern architecture. The guest house, which will be your primary quarters during your stay, was remodeled by artist and craftsman working with steam bent wood, hand forged iron, adobe and hand painted tile. As you walk through the 150 year old 200 lb front doors which were imported from old Mexico you'll be greeted by Renaissance style fresco paintings decorating the arched section of the ceiling in front of wooden windows repurposed from an 18th century chapel. While staying at the ranch you can choose from many optional activities at the ranch, including hiking, cycling, horse back riding, archery, target shooting, picnics by the creek, riding ATV's and much more! Here you can be as active as you want or simply relax and take some much needed R&R. You can pick your own farm fresh organic free ranging eggs for breakfast. We look forward to having you as our guest. If you have special request, please call us and we will do everything we can to make it happen!

Absolute Peace

It was such a wonderful place. Perfectly normal in every way. Exactly what we needed, the most absolutely peaceful place in the world. We saw deer, cats, horses, hummingbirds, pigs, and butterflies. There were exactly 5-8 cars that drove by each day, but otherwise totally silence.

This was the most wonderful place imaginable! The home had so much charm, and the property was just beautiful! We loved playing with Whiskey (the dog) and the cat sleeping on the little chair just as you walked out, was just too cute! We got to pet horses, see the chickens, tour the milk barn, and sit around a fire pit in the evening. My mornings drinking coffee and sitting in the window seat and watching the deer walking across the pasture with the Spanish Peaks in the background, was the best! We were so comfortable and had everything you could need or want! Billy and Kelly were the sweetest hosts you could ever want! It was an amazing time! I so hope we can come back again!

Beautiful, tranquil property !

San Francisco Ranch is in an Idealic mountain valley setting, while also being close to town and amenities. The ranch guest house is very comfortable, with a fully stocked kitchen, comfortable living room, and unique architectural touches. The owners were extremely friendly and accommodating. My daughter enjoyed the zip line and also spotting wildlife during our vacation. We will be back very soon!

Heaven on Earth!

Our family of 5 had an incredible experience at the San Francisco Ranch! Waking up to the cool mountain air and beautiful surroundings was AMAZING! We ate fresh chicken and duck eggs which were incredible (you won't get anything like it at the grocery store) for breakfast. The kids loved horse back riding, ATV'ing and even hit a few golf balls on a one of kind golf hole! :) The Sill's were the best hosts and took care of our every need! The guest house was beautiful, clean and LOVED looking through the chapel window in the morning and evening. The ranch is like no other, a MUST see! We wish we could have spent a week there! We'll definitely be coming back! Thank you Billy and Kelly!

Beautiful Mountain View - A Must-Stay

Having stayed here about a week, we would definitely, highly recommend this VRBO property. The 3-bedroom house was amazing, comfortable, and had everything that we needed for our Spring Break family vacation. There were plenty of things for my family to explore....a lot of friendly animals, a flowing creek, and the most beautiful view of mountains you've ever seen. Our host went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable and had everything that we needed. He was also great with communication if we had any questions. The house has everything you need and the beds are more comfortable than the beds at your own house.

Thank you for considering a stay at our ranch! My name is Billy Sill and my wife Kelly and I moved to souther Colorado a year ago from Austin Texas. Kelly is a native Texan, I got there as soon as I could by way of Argentina! We have 4 older kids that are still in Austin and two younger ones that are still with us. I happened on this valley on an elk hunt two years ago and completely fell in love with the beauty and peace I found here. For me it was reminiscent of my home in Argentina which was set at the foot of the Andes mountains where I grew up on a small farm. Our family grew Malbec grapes and olives and we grew most of the vegetables and raised the meat that was served at our table. My love of serving people, food and cooking came from my mother. She was the most naturally gifted cook I've ever known. Our hope is to continue her legacy through great service and food that makes people happy and helps them connect with friends and loved ones! We'd love to meet you soon!
