Relaxing Stay

We like to hike and explore the outdoors and wanted to stay somewhere simple for our family of 5. This property exceeded our expectations! The house was clean, beds comfy, fridge stocked and the coffee bar was over the top! We walked around the corner for Mexican at night and the coffee shop in the morning. The owners were responsive and helpful. We will be back again and highly recommend this property for a simple relaxing place to stay amid the beautiful Mountain region!

Cute bungalow, walk-able to all of Ironton

Our family of 4 stayed two nights so we could hike Elephant Rocks and Johnson's Shut-Ins. Cute little house, with everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Had warm weather and really enjoyed the Adirondack chairs on the front porch for morning coffee. We did discovered that being in town in March, Tuesday-Thursday, meant many businesses were not open. Checo's Mexican, Arcadia Valley Coffee, and the The Iron Mule were all delightful, and we are food/coffee snobs from Chicago :-)

Great weekend getaway!

We loved the Ironton Bungalow! We needed a quick weekend getaway from STL and this was perfect. We took advantage of the close proximity to Elephant Rocks and Johnson’s Shut ins, and stopped at two coffee shops in town. The house was bigger and better than how it appeared in the pictures and super clean! It was our first trip with our dog and the yard and dog supplies (while mostly unneeded) were a nice touch. We hope to be back!

Ironton Bungalow

We enjoyed our stay at the Ironton Bungalow in Ironton, Missouri. The home was a beautiful, updated older home. It was very clean and had all we needed for our stay. We had an issue with the tv and emailed the homeowner. Tristen immediately contacted us and tried to help us figure out the issue. Come to find out the tv went out. That didn’t affect our overall experience and we will be contacting them again when we come back to visit family! Wonderful home with wonderful homeowners!

Family vacation

My family had an excellent time exploring the town of Ironton, and all the cool nature parks around. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The bedrooms and living spaces were spacious and comfortable. We loved that we could just walk out the backyard gate and walk through town to get coffee, cold drinks, and shop at all the unique stores. We also loved that the house was so close to Elephant Rocks and Johnson Shut-ins. It was great to have all the recommendations from the host family as well. We checked out many of the restaurants and coffee shops they recommended and loved all of them! I think our favorite was Thee Abbey Kitchen!

Perfect stay for our family visit

Ironton was the perfect location for our outdoor adventuring. I come from a long line of generations who lived in Ironton and Arcadia Valley but never lived there myself. Getting to experience the small town 4th of July parade and slower pace of a holiday week kept things lively and laid back. Hiking at Elephant Rocks has been a family favorite since my dad was a kid and while there are more people visiting now, it was still just a magical. The home was comfortable and had everything we needed to relax between family visits, hikes, and antique shopping. The coffee shop on Main street satisfied the coffee snob in me and having the Dollar General nearby helped with last minute needs. We will be back!

The property was super CLEAN, charming, filled with amenities like towels and kitchenware and had plenty of room for our family of 3. Triston, the owner, was very responsive, communicative and easy to work with. The only complaint we had was the street noise was loud, and the bungalow didn't have good insulation. You can hear every car that drove by, as well as the train horn in the middle of the night. Unfortunately, I'm a light sleeper, so the noise kept me up most of the night. However, if you're familiar with city sounds, you should have no problems as this was a lovely place to stay and central to everything in Arcadia Valley.

Comfy Bungalow

This was our first time in SE Missouri. The bungalow was a great location from which to explore the Arcadia Valley and nearby wine country. Just a few steps to a good coffee shop in the morning and many good places to eat made this a very relaxing trip!

Perfect place to stay in the Arcadia Valley

My husband and I just got home from a week's stay at the Bungalow, while he was in town to take lessons from a local engraving master and I was with him to relax and wind down after some pretty full-on stressful months at work. The house was perfect for us. It's more spacious than it appears in the photo. It was spotless when we arrived and fully stocked with everything we needed, in a quiet and quaint neighborhood. We loved the original hardwood floors and original fixtures and the really comfy bed and couch. I took advantage of my down week and strolled around the small town, hung out at the local coffee shop and enjoyed the really good AC during the 90+ degree week we were there. The Dollar General store is a 5 minute walk away and despite its super "hectic" layout, it has all the basics and much more. If you stay here, don't do what we did and assume that the lock box to the side of the front door is how you get the key. The electronic keypad is on the front door itself. We messaged Triston when we couldn't get the code to work on the lock box and he replied immediately, telling us (as he had actually told us when we got the instructions) to key the code into the keypad on the door. He checked in with us a few times during the week via messenger just to make sure we had everything we needed, which we absolutely did. Lastly, without exception, everyone we met in town and in the area was genuinely friendly. I'd highly recommend this house as your base of operations, whether you're in the area for outdoor activities or for simply chilling out!
