Calm, Peaceful Oasis!
We spent a long weekend with our in-laws with the expectation of fishing, relaxation, and fun - all of which was had. We fished at local lakes and on Enemy Swim where we caught a lot of fish and had some beautiful weather. We were able to come back to the cabin and relax and have a fish fry together. The cabin was perfect - plenty of bedrooms, bathroom, large kitchen, and living room. We didn't spend a lot of time inside but when we did it was exactly what we were looking for.

Basic Cabin
This is a small, basic lake cabin. Mostly clean, kitchen is stocked with everything we needed, cozy table and chairs to use for meals, good wifi, the gas grill worked very well, nice dock and working boat lift, and property was easy to find. There is no washer/dryer, no dishwasher, no central air, and beds are small. There was hot water the first day but the second day had to take luke warm shower and no matter how long we let the water run, it did not get any hotter. Therefore, this small, basic cabin, in our opinion, is not worth the more expensive weekend fee charged. When we asked the owners if they would accept the lower fee that they charge during the week we were told the higher fee is for cleaning but when you book there is an extra tacked on to your total for cleaning. ?? So if you want to overpay for a small, basic cabin without the above amenities, this is the place for you. Be careful and be sure this is what you want to do and where you want to be because the owners are not sympathetic if something is to come up and you wish to change your reservation. When we booked, the weather forecast looked very pleasant and nice. Four days later, the forecast changed to cold, windy and rainy. After seeing the cabin was still available the following weekend, we kindly asked the owners if we could switch our weekend. We would like to be able to enjoy the lake by going out in the boat and tubing, etc. The owners responded very quickly with a NO and said the dates the following weekend were not available but we could see on the web site that they were. I get it, they want to make money and hopefully someone else will book the following weekend. Well, the weather ended up not being as rainy as the forecast showed but it did storm all night Friday night and the wind was very cool on Saturday. The high only reached 69 and that is too cold for us to want to do any activities. We did take the boat out fishing but my daughter was so cold and miserable we packed it in and decided to go to Watertown for a movie. We didn't get to spend very much time enjoying the lake so was a disappointing weekend. I know the owners cannot control the weather but neither can we and some sort of consolation or compromise would have been nice. We would have even been willing to switch to a different weekend rather than the very next.

TVgate
For what one pays the owners should have internet and a working TV. Kitchen could have a few more items stocked to cook and have a few items to store foods in the fridge.

Made me a little nervous when I couldn’t find properties I looked at listed after I booked the house. Good overall first experience.

Great low cost getaway
The dock is a great hangout spot with decent swimming. The inside is clean and cozy with a nice large table to hangout as a group. The cabin is kind of crammed into a small neighborhood but the other residents are friendly.

July on Enemy Swim
our family enjoyed their stay. we had ample room for meal prep and dining. There was room outside for our games (bean bags, frizby] we had space around the dock for multiple floaties and the lilypad we provided. we used the dock area for launching our tubing with the boat. would have been nice to have had a boat lift. We had a great week!!

Quaint Lake-side Home = Family Fun
We absolutely loved the time we spent as a family at this cabin on the lake, and would absolutely come again. The check-in process was super easy, communication with the owner was easy and quick, and the place was clean and comfortable. I gave 4-stars for the accuracy of the listing, only because I didn't realize that the only queen-size bed was a pull-out couch in the living room. So my 6'8" tall husband and I both don't fit very well together on a double-sized bed. Also a Lily Pad and paddle boat were advertised, but I guess they were ruined by previous renters, so those weren't available, and that was disappointing. Our kids LOVED swimming off of the dock and surrounding area, and my husband enjoyed fishing off of the dock (although we only caught a couple of small bass, so not the best fishing location evidently), and sitting on the deck with the beautiful view of the lake was SO relaxing! The place was very comfortable and felt like a home-away-from-home. Nearby Pickeral Lake was beautiful and had a public swimming beach that the kids enjoyed, and the absolutely beautiful Sica Hollow State Park was only a short drive, and provided lots of fun hiking and geocaching and picnicing as a family. We will definitely stay here again if we're back in the area, and recommend to others. Awesome stay!

Lovely retreat
It was the perfect getaway. A little far from grocery stores and restaurants (and gas stations!) but if you are a better planner than I am, these won't be an issue!
