Fifty feet from the Rappahannock River sits the historic farm home built in 1917 by local renowned boat builder Gilbert White. Updated with lots of modern amenities, it is the ideal home to relax and enjoy the Rivah Life with friends and family.
Sitting on a large quiet cove at the mouth of the Rappahannock and Chesapeake, you can enjoy the crabbing, fishing, and wildlife viewing right at your doorstep. With a personal beach and dock, you can bring your power boat to tie up all week or rent one from our local rental companies. We provide two kayaks, along with life jackets of various sizes, as well as a 12-foot-long floating mat to enjoy. Crab traps, fishing poles, and an oyster rake are available for you to try your luck at catching dinner.
This home offers 2 upstairs bedrooms with beautiful views of the water. One upstairs bedroom features a family suite where parents can be close to their children while still having privacy. Does your family include someone who has trouble with more than a couple of stairs? They can take advantage of the first-floor office with an extra queen-sized bed.
The kitchen has all the essentials and many extras that make cooking for a group easier. With 2,100 square feet, two living/family rooms, a sunroom, and two full baths, it is ideal for two families to share. With lots of comfortable indoor areas to relax, watch TV, and play games, you can enjoy time together but also have space to spread out when you want.
Outside, we have over a full acre with 250 ft of waterfront, featuring a deck, a firepit, and a gazebo with incredible water views.
Little Oyster is available for Sat-Sat rentals through early September, with a minimum 7-day stay. In the Fall and Spring seasons, you can come down for a 3-day weekend getaway from work. Or make it a working vacation, taking advantage of the high-speed wireless during the day for remote meetings and relaxing on the deck or by the firepit in the evening.
Please note: We maintain a strict no-smoking policy at home, and we apologize, but we do not allow pets.
Little Oyster is located on Fleets Island, just minutes from White Stone, Irvington, and Kilmarnock. Enjoy the local wineries, take the family to the Compass Entertainment Center for a round of putt-putt golf and a movie, go antiquing at the many shops in the area, and dine out at fantastic restaurants, including the famous Tides Inn. Or plan a day of history - you can be in Yorktown in an hour and Williamsburg in 1-1/2 hours.
Don't miss out on the opportunity to enjoy a week living the "Rivah Life" down here in the Northern Neck.
