We've been vacationing on Schoodic for 35 years and its one of our favorite places. This was our first stay in this cottage and it was peefect for us! Vert clean and comfortable. The owner was very easy to work with. The cottage was well equipped and the view was gorgeous! Hopefully we'll be back!
Absolutely loved our stay here! This lovely home is perfect - location is ideal, the decor is beautiful and the hosts provide a wealth of info about things to do in the area. Highly recommend!
Mid-Century Jewelbox on Maine's Schoodic Peninsula
This was one of our favorite rentals EVER! The house is a small cottage with two bedrooms, furnished with attention to every detail in Mid-Century style. The night we arrived, we sat up on the rooftop deck at sunset watching grackles, finches, gulls and two species of woodpeckers come and go twenty feet away from us at eye level, in a forested area that abuts the edge of the property. Rich and Julie were fantastic hosts--they communicated before, during and after our visit with lots of recommendations for sightseeing and hiking in the area, which is spectacular. You stay right at the edge of a section of Acadia National Park, with its dramatic rocky coastline and wonderful hikes and biking trails. I cannot recommend this rental more highly! A cozy, perfect getaway to beauty and nature, with helpful hosts who are excited to help you explore and enjoy!
Awesome property. Immaculate & well furnished. Hosts were very knowledgeable & helpful with local recommendations for everything! Location was great-close to all Acadia has to offer. 5 stars!
Rich was so helpful through the entire process, from booking to receiving detailed information regarding things to do! He checked in with us several times and was available if we needed him. I highly recommend you stay here, we will be staying again❤️❤️
Great property and great owners! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our short visit. That's ok because this was a reconnaissance trip and this property is at the top of our list for a future extended stay.
Love, love, love this property! The owners took great care to ensure we were indeed comfortable. Their attention to detail was astonishing. When our 7 days were up, we did not want to leave. Schoodic Loop was definitely up there with some of the prettiest coastal shoreline views. Winter Harbor was a great town, and the five and dime a must see! We had the best lunch at Lunch on the wharf in Corea (lobster quesadillas were delicious). Purchased fresh lobster off the boat on Pound Rd. I can’t say enough about our visit!!
Great location- ocean views, lobster boats, very close to Acadia's Schoodic Peninsula. Great local restaurants. Suggestions from owner were very helpful.
Rich and Julie have created a perfect cottage on a small harbor on the Schoodic Peninsula. The furnishings are sophisticated and comfortable. The kitchen is outfitted for a cook. The house is immaculate, the gardens beautiful. Rich provided wonderful information on Maine...things to do, books to read, movies to watch. Their cottage is quite special.
The cottage was just lovely and Rich was there for any questions! We loved the proximity to the Schoodic bike trails and enjoyed biking into Winter Harbor for groceries and breakfast/lunch and drinks! Both the small grocery stores that Rich recommended had everything we needed and the Lobster Coop. Had all our seafood needs! We were greeted by a lovely bottle of wine and a gift card for ice cream. It is also a short ride to the ferry in Winter Harbor where you can take your bikes and go into Bar Harbor without any of the traffic or parking hassles. I highly recommend this rental!
Favorite things were sitting on the deck and screened in porch, it was so quiet and relaxing.
The cottage was very clean, it felt like we were at home. Loved the decor, listening to the albums and playing games. Very close to the park & ferry. The blueberry ice cream sundaes at Me and Ben's, and The Bakery's fresh pastries/breads were an amazing treat. Excellent communication with owner tons of information available for the area.
One of the best places we've ever stayed at! We had a wonderful weekend exploring Acadia, Bar Harbor and some other towns along the coast. The house was perfect for our family of four. We loved the classic board games and record player. My favorite part of the day was enjoying my coffee each morning on the upper deck overlooking the water and lobster boats. We also enjoyed many meals in the sunroom and the full kitchen was nice. The location near the quieter side of Acadia worked out great for us. We drove to Bar Harbor and the busier side of Acadia twice (which took about an hour) and I definitely recommend doing that. The Great Head trail was amazing and we also enjoyed Sand Beach. But we liked relaxing in the quieter side of Acadia and felt like we got a better feel for Maine there. We rented bikes just a few minutes from the house and the loop goes right in front of the house. We also enjoyed some of the local restaurants including The Pickled Wrinkle and Lunch on the Wharf. I recommend the cottage to couples or small families and hope to return again!
