I was looking for a quick getaway for my wife's NYE Birthday and stumbled on this beautiful cabin. What a perfect way to end one year and start another. Not only is it immaculate, and located in a beautiful part of Colorado but it is one of the best managed properties I have stayed at. Kerstin was incredibly communicative and helpful and the property was clean as a whistle and well stocked. We were torn between staying inside and relaxing or getting out to enjoy the surroundings, so we did a bit of both. Even our K-9 had a great time, between the cross country skiing and great nature walks. He even had a bit of a crush on Heidi the sweet hostess assistant Shepard Dog who came to say hello to him every morning. I feel very fortunate that we were only a couple of hours from home, but even at three times the distance we would return... and we certainly will.
Superb update of this historic cabin. Well equipped kitchen. Very quiet environment. Great location for visiting the north rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.
This forest cabin was perfect for our needs. It is similar to one of our favorites in Montana, close to Yosemite. This one is close to the North Rim of the BCG NP; a bit far from the South Rim but still accessible. The cabin has all the essential features for two, but could conceivably accommodate one or two kids. Saw wildlife (mule deer & turkeys). Quiet as can be. We loved it.
We enjoyed our stay at this quaint 1800’s cabin. It’s in a secluded location near Needle Rock Mountain. The area is beautiful. We took quite a few walks on the road that runs in front of the cabin and saw a bear, mule deer and wild turkey. The bed was very comfortable. It got pretty warm in the cabin in the afternoons until it cooled down late evening. It would be nice to have a shaded/covered area to sit outside as there was tall grass and weeds everywhere so nowhere good to sit comfortably.
My wife , our dog and I spent three glorious days in the West Elks at the cabin at Needle Rock. The history of the cabin, and the great restoration of it, lent to a very comfortable, restful time, surrounded by nature’s beauty. We saw, wild turkeys, foxes, bird life, and a herd of elk. The location was great for traveling around part of the Western Slope, from the Black Canyon to the vineyards in the area. Our host was very helpful and informative, and we will be back! I highly recommend this gem!
This cabin was a lovely, peaceful, and quiet retreat with AMAZING views! There were modern amenities mixed with antiques and charming decor. The bed and furniture were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. I appreciated the little touches of seasonal decor the host added as well. Perfect for a tranquil mountain getaway!
