About this property

During Hurricane Florence, our home suffered extensive damage, thus was fully renovated in 2019 - including all new kitchen cabinetry and bathroom vanities with granite tops, new furnishings throughout, custom tiled walk in showers, all new flooring, lighting, etc. We live fairly close by and strive to keep our home impeccably maintained and well stocked.

We are an Oceanfront, 5 bedroom, 4 bath duplex with a private pool. Beds are K,K,Q,Q,D,T. Even though we are a duplex, the pool is exclusively for our side. It is located directly off of the main living area, is fenced in, and is a wonderful extension to the inside living space.

Weekly (Saturday to Saturday) stays only. All bed and bath linens are included with weekly rentals. No Pets and No Smoking Property.

Family Time at the Beach

The property is in a great location with direct easy access to a beautiful uncrowded beach. The private pool is small but adequate. The house is comfortable and well equipped to accomodate my large family.

Wow, what a great family vacation!

My family had a great stay here! The beach was beautiful, and the pool was an added benefit! The house was fully equipped with everything we needed. The layout was perfect for multiple groups. The shops and restaurants were a little far from the house, so I would suggest renting bicycles. Overall, it was an awesome trip - would definitely go back to this house!

Amazing House

We have stayed at a lot of beach houses over the years and this one is our absolute favorite. The house is set up perfectly for a large group and very well stocked. Our kiddos loved the pool, actually we all did.

Stunning!

This was an amazing house for our extended family vacation!! Excellent communication with the owners prior to our stay; they promptly answered all questions regarding the property. Comfortable furnishings, a well stocked kitchen, plenty of bath towels (a few more kitchen towels would have been nice to have on hand), and the view/location on the beach... perfect! We had a wonderful time!! Hope to return in the future!!

Amazing

This house is such a great find. The pool was fantastic and the access to the beach was so close. Everything you could need was there and linens and towels were in great shape. Beds were soft. The whole vibe of the house and location was relaxing. It was perfect for our group of six. The downstairs area was fine for us, bit it may get crowded with more people. We were far enough from the pier that we felt a little safer in the water, but close enough to go to the pier to fish. Aquarium is so close and a short drive to Beaufort. Close to Publix and Food Lion. We will consider booking here again in the future!

AMAZING

The house was beautiful, well stocked, clean, fantastic location, pool was great. Pool light didn’t work, contacted owner and they got back to me immediately with a response. Owner was VERY nice and extremely responsive to any questions we had. Not sure if it is in the discrimination, the grill is charcoal not gas. There was charcoal available when we got there. Highly recommend this beautiful home!

Never Again

First the lock on the door. Need’s to be replaced and management knew it before we got there. The deck needs to be replaced around the pool. The rest of the deck needs replaced also. Nail heads sticking out from about 1/16’- 1/8” everywhere on the deck. Weeds growing up through the deck. The bedroom with the Queen size bed did not have screws on one of the bed rails. No ice maker in refrigerator or garbage disposal in sink. Terrible waste of our money. No drapes in the King sized bedroom on the second floor. When the neighbors turned on porolights at night it lights up the room, also the ceiling fan ticks. Never Again. Shame on you for charging so much for such a depleted property.

Family/Anniversary vacation

The home was perfect for our family beach vacation! The pool was especially a treat, clean and the right size for us from Grandpa to our 6 year old grandson! We were especially pleased with how clean everything was and loved the equipped kitchen! We would love to return sometime! The owners were great with communication too!

Perfect in every way

We’ve been coming to Emerald Isle 1-2x year for 10 years now, and this, by far is our favorite beach house. Lovely decor, comfortable seating and beds. This was our second stay here, and it was as spotlessly clean and well appointed as ever. We love that there are three oceanfront bedrooms with walk out decks and quality rockers/seating. Also love that we don’t have to carry groceries to the top floor. Great views of the beach, just steps away. Everyone loves the pool. Already booked our third return. This beach house is pure bliss!

Great beach vacay!

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The ocean is so close that you see and hear the surf easily from the balconies. The pool was bigger than I thought it would be and we spent a ton of time in it. Well-appointed home that was attractive and comfortable, hosted by a super nice and very communicative couple.

Great Vacation

The property was great. We loved the house and the setting. The owners were very cooperative, and responded quickly to our questions and requests. One suggestion might be to replace the tub liner in the 3rd floor bath. We avoided using it.

This was a perfect place to stay with family and friends. The pool was so nice to have, especially for the small kids that couldn't go in the ocean on rough days. The house is very nice and comfortable.

All. Time. Favorite!

We visit Emerald Isle 1-2x each year the past 9 years, and have loved all the oceanfronts we’ve stayed at, but Great Expectations East tops our list. Beautifully decorated with quality furnishings and appliances. There was no fighting over who gets the best bedroom because all were beautiful, spacious, well appointed, and had mattresses that even my herniated disc loved! Never slept better. Spotlessly clean and well organized so finding household needs was effortless. With a baby that often cried at night, I found the bedrooms well insulated from sound because all but mom slept through it. Haha! The pool was pure joy, and my hubby loved surf casting steps from the house. Fishing was good! Location was perfect. Close to all our favorite shops and restaurants, but out of the high traffic areas, both on the road and on the beach. Owners are lovely to work with, check in was easy, and in a word, this place is perfect! We’ve already paid our deposit for next year and plan for it to be one of many future stays at EI.

Gorgeous Beach House

Wonderful week

This is our second stay at this home. We loved our week at the beach. The home was clean and ready for our arrival. Check in was easy. Communication with the owner was always quick and easy. The home is well equipped with everything you might need for your stay-- the kitchen has plenty of plates, bowls, coffee mugs, cups, eating utensils, pots and pans. There is plenty of room for at least 10 people at the dining room table. The living room sitting area is comfortable for 6-7 people. The living room and all the bedrooms had TVs with lots of viewing options. We used the decks on the first and second floor-- it was a great place to have morning coffee while looking at the ocean- and watching the dolphins go by. The 2nd floor deck has nice rocking chairs for watching sunrises and sunsets. The bedrooms are bright and clean. The sheets and towels are nice and in good condition. Plenty of towels were provided. The beach access is right off the 1st floor deck. It was wonderful to walk out the door, down the boardwalk and to the beach! So much easier than lugging things back and forth in the car or down a long walkway. We only dipped our toes in the pool-- there is no heater (we knew that before we rented). The pool guy came mid week to give it a good cleaning. There are some minor signs of wear and tear in the home. Most of this comes from being on the ocean and a continual stream of renters. It did not stop us from enjoying our week in any way. We are looking at booking a week for 2023.

Superb property! Outstanding location!

Our group of eight were very comfortable in this home. It was very well equipped with beautiful finishes and quality kitchenware. WiFi worked excellent with no issues. We really enjoyed how close it was to the beach. We’ve rented a number of houses right on the beach, but this was the shortest walk with the least number of steps to the house that we’ve ever had. It made running back into the house for something very easy. We had great communication with the host every step of the way! Thank you Melissa and Eric!

Why they chose this property

We both enjoyed the NC coast and Emerald Isle as children. An opportunity arose when we had 1 young daughter and twins on the way, and we took a leap of faith and jumped at the chance to own a place here. That was 28 years ago and what a blessing this house has been. We look forward to our grandchildren enjoying it one day as much as our girls have.

What makes this property unique

We love waking up to the sound of waves breaking, having a cup of coffee outside on one of the decks, and heading out for a morning walk or bike ride.

One thing that makes this house special is its suitability for all ages, making it a perfect spot for several generations of family. There is both a bedroom and full bath on the first floor, which is perfect for grandparents; and a porch swing with a perfect view to the ocean if they find it difficult going up and down to the beach. Kids of course enjoy the pool (with a chest full of beach and pool toys) and their own space in the loft. If anyone needs some quiet time, the other 4 bedrooms are spacious and quiet. The second floor deck has 4 new rockers, providing a nice place to hide and read a great book.

There are plenty of entertainment options to keep you busy if you choose, but not too many. Some of the things we most enjoy doing are: obviously enjoying the beach and pool, playing tennis at the town park, visiting historic Swansboro for lunch and shopping one day, going to a movie at Emerald Plantation, and of course biking.

Emerald Isle has completed bike paths that run the entire length of Emerald Drive, as well as the entire length of Coast Guard Road, which is down to "the point". We always use Beach Wheels Bike Rentals at 252-240 BIKE (2453). They deliver bikes of all shapes and sizes straight to the house and pick them up when you are done. You can rent daily, for 3 days, or for the week.
