BARK PARK IS DONE & READY FOR YOUR FUR BABIES!! If you want to sit and relax under the trees, enjoy a fire and have your pets off leash, you can!!!!! 4 chairs with firepit in a beautifully fenced bark park!

Welcome to the Cowboy Cabin! A beautiful, rustic cabin atop its very own hill surrounded by trees. Our Cowboy Cabin is a great space, with a main living area & a loft, accommodating up to 4 people (or +2 if you don't mind roll away beds). The main living area is encompassed by a high loft ceiling, accommodating sleeping, seating & dining! Additional space offered in the loft with 2 twin beds. It is fully furnished with a microwave, mini fridge, ice maker, coffee maker, shower, jacuzzi tub, & we even provide soft drinks, coffee, & snacks!

The Cowboy Cabin has been recently renovated & looks beautiful, so much more than a rustic cabin! You will enjoy the space, peace & quiet, as well as the modern amenities such as a jetted jacuzzi tub, wireless internet & TV! We also have 5 acres of hiking trails for you to enjoy!

Wonderful opportunity to unplug

Great few day

Enjoyed the cabin and the ambiance! Very clean and comfortable. The fireplace is awesome Rain kept us from enjoying the deck and the property but we hope to come back soon.

Anniversary getaway

Me and my husband loved our little 1 year anniversary getaway. The Cabin is very cozy and in a wonderful location. You can enjoy the remoteness of the woods surrounding you but are also close enough to Washington to get out to eat if you want. Both Cabin and Cottage were very clean and wonderfully comfortable! Would 10/10 reccomend!

Comfortable and Peaceful

This was my second stay at the Cowboy Cabin, and my stay was just as good as the first time. The property is safe and peaceful, the cabin cute and comfortable, and the adjoining deck offers stunning views. The owner is friendly and has 2 of the most adorable dogs that visited with me and my dogs. This is the kind of place you’ll want to visit again and again.

Cabin in the woods

Perfect place to get away! This is our favorite cabin in the woods with a comfortable queen bed, a wood burning fireplace, a jetted tub and a loft with two twin beds. There's tv, internet, snacks, coffee and a small kitchenette and mini fridge. This is our second stay at Cowboy cabin and we love it as a cozy retreat. Nearby are two towns for food and other necessities. I highly recommend the Cowboy Cabin if you are wanting to unplug from daily life. The hosts are exceptional and eager to make your stay a pleasant experience.

Great cabin in the woods!

We visited this property many years ago when it had different owners. After not returning for over a decade, we found it to still be amazing! The wood-burning fireplace, the jetted tub, the cozy bed, and the grill on the deck all contributed to a wonderfully enjoyable stay. We will definitely return!

Fantastic getaway

This cozy cabin was exactly what we were looking for! Needed a place not terribly far from home to take a pause from our busy everyday life. We enjoyed the wood burning fireplace & the gorgeous surroundings. Met the property owner & her gorgeous pup, very welcoming & inviting. Highly recommend & will consider for future visits to the area!

Excellent host

While we didn’t get to stay because our dog passed away while we were there, I can’t say enough nice things about the owners! They were comforting, helpful and understanding. They helped us find a 24 vet hospital to take our poor pup too and she even called ahead and told them we were coming! The place was peaceful and serene and I’m just sorry we couldn’t stay.

Peaceful getaway

Thank you, Tim and Cristina for allowing us to stay in your Cowboy Cabin on Oct 28-30. We loved everything about the accommodations but particularly enjoyed listening to the trees sway in the wind while on the deck and porch. It was so nice having our Maizy doodle with us and she thoroughly enjoyed running through the woods to get to the bark park. The wood burning fireplace and hot tub were icing on the cake. It was just cool enough for us to enjoy both and sure appreciated the wood supply. We ventured out and about to the cute little towns of Dutzow and Marthasville and enjoyed another tour of the Daniel Boone Home as well. Our two day stay was just what we needed to get some much needed rest and relaxation. Next time we plan to stay in the cute little cottage that’s on the property as well. Thank you again for everything; there isn’t a thing you haven’t thought about to make your guests’ stay a pleasurable one.

Cowboy Cabin

We had a wonderful stay at the cowboy cabin. The cabin had all we needed and we were provided with a detailed manual which was well prepared to answer any question we had, the host made it feel very welcoming by being so receptive if we needed to contact them for any reason. This was truly a great little getaway for my husband and I. We would highly recommend a stay here for a single person, couple or family.

Getaway Labor Day weekend

We stayed two nights and the cabin was great. We knew there wasn't a kitchen,so brought a cooler with food to make on the charcoal grill. Everything we needed to cook outside was provided for. Inside there is a hot plate and pots and pans. Microwave and toaster. The mini fridge held some of out food and the rest stayed cold in our cooler. The deck with chairs, table and a gas fire pit was nice to sit around when it cooled off at night. The cabin was15 minutes from a couple of Katy Trail trailheads. We biked two days and it was very conveinient and close. We climbed the ladder to the loft just to check it out. It would be great for a family with a couple of kids. Low ceiling would make it difficult for some adults. We loved the place and will come here again.

Sisters Week

We liked the place and enjoyed the deck. Wish we could of got the firepit going. I didn't realize it was a ladder to the loft (extra beds) instead of stairs. Was not feasible for senior citizen women. The rollaway on the lower level was not very comfortable. I also didn't realize it was only a mini fridge and no stove. My error, need to check more closely when booking. We did enjoy our stay and got to visit 9 wineries and some beautiful scenery. I would definitely recommend this place to stay.

Perfect Peaceful Getaway

Absolute relaxing perfection. Very secluded but within a quick trip back to civilization. The ONLY thing that took away from the trip was no cell service or internet but being from a place where that can still happen we understood and a quick trip to Walmart for a DVD Player remedied the problem. The accommodations were very cute and cozy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would most definitely consider visiting again and bringing our Shihtzu as he enjoyed our stay as much as we did.

Tim and I (Cristina) are passionate about offering the best accommodations as vacation rentals as we possibly can. To be direct, we love our home here on Deer Mountain and we are always honored when someone books. We want everyone to experience Hillside Cabins and love it as much as we do.

We are empty nesters my husband and I, but we do have 2 dogs that get tons of attention. When you stay with us on Deer Mountain it is possible you'll meet at least 1 of our fur babies (Cooper); he will walk hang out around the cabins and he can't wait to meet everyone, he's a talker!

Why they chose this property

We visited this property on a whim, we really didn't believe it was for us, but from the first step out onto the property and after letting it soak it for a few, sold! We never thought we'd live on acreage coming from St. Peters, both of us from the Burbs!

We envision our grandkids with little hammers and chisel's, chiseling away looking for dino bones in the rocks. We left a pool behind, but nothing beats seeing our dogs run through and drink from the spring. We are experiencing nature like we never have before and loving it!

Some of our very first thoughts were, Can't wait to have visitors, whether it is family or peeps needing to get away. Sharing what we have is important to us; especially coming out of a rough 2020.
