Grafton Getaway - Farm is a secluded 23 acre property with chickens, ducks, fishing, wooded walking trail, and barn hayloft sleeping quarters. The Farm is one of 8 Grafton Getaway Guesthouses and is just 10 minutes from Grafton and 38 minutes from Lambert St Louis airport

Amenities are plentiful at our hobby farm and include:
*hammocks, swings, and a putting green
*trampoline, bbq grill, ping pong table, giant yard chess, and kids zone in barn
*smokeless Tiki firepit with free firewood along with a gas fire pit in the Gazebo
*classic record player and complimentary coffee/tea/hot choc in the full kitchen
*foosball, free fiber WiFi, free naps, frisbee golf
*82 inch smart Tv for rainy days or to watch our fav DVD - "Funny Farm"
*additional smart Tv's in master suite and basement

Listen to the sounds of nature (songbirds, cows, hawks, coyotes) as you will not hear any highway. Step outside to see if our chickens have produced farm fresh eggs for you (they lay more eggs when happy, so be sure to smile at them during check in), and scan our pear/peach/apple trees for a ripe fruit. Then find inspiration for your next travel journey in our "Adventure Room" complete with books, maps, and travel trinkets from our own adventures. Next, grab our fishing gear and try for a bass or perch or catfish (catch and release). Then relax in our hammock or gazebo or walk along our wooded trail which has benches to sit for a bit to read, relax, contemplate, or meditate.

We utilize staggered pricing so that smaller groups pay less than larger groups. Inquire if further questions. Weekends require a minimum of 6 guests. Pet fee is $50. Guests at hotels call the front desk when they need something...so if ever during a stay you feel your satisfaction is not at a 5-star level please call/text us right away, while you are still with us, so we can remedy the situation and make your stay all you hoped it would be.

Great (quiet) weekend getaway

Who doesn’t want to pick their own eggs from the chicken coupe for breakfast?! We played several games as a family and managed to get in able on the property.

Perfect place for our Thanksgiving reunion

Our family of 18 was looking for a location to gather for a Thanksgiving reunion for our group scattered across the country. The St Louis area became our target destination. We couldn't have picked a more perfect place to stay than the Grafton Getaway Farm in Dow, IL, just a 40 minute drive into the city. The house was so accommodating to our needs and the kids loved playing farmer as they tended the chickens and fed the ducks. Brandon was a great host, it was fun seeing his collection of memorabilia from his world travels, some which our group had experienced but many others we are now inspired to undertake. A fully stocked kitchen and pantry with extra tables and chairs made our Thanksgiving feast one for the memory books. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this location to other families looking for a taste of farm living.

Perfect place

The house was incredible we kept finding new charming things around every corner and it was well stocked with everything we could possibly need. It was the perfect place to relax and celebrate our friends before the day of their wedding. There is so much to do all around the property. Incredibly memorable and scenic location.

Family getaway

13 of us ranging in age from 11 months to 76 traveled to the farm for 3 days. We enjoyed the house with plenty of spaces for all of us. The kids loved the garage with Pong and Pac Man, the outdoor games of chess and ping pong. We took a family hike, fished in the pond and collected fresh eggs! It was a great place for us!

Great Family Stay

The farm was such an amazing place to find. Our extended family, including my older parents truly enjoyed their stay. There was something for everyone, from small children to teens to adults. Family Reunion at the Farm

Our family ranged in age from infant to 85 years old. All of us had a good time at the Farm. The host was very responsive and helpful, even meeting us upon arrival. The property provided lots of opportunities for activities and fun, with a variety of indoor spaces and games plus multiple outdoor things to do. We were surprised that we were expected to help care for the chickens & ducks, but these chores were simple. The seclusion of the property was nice for us, but it was also near several places we needed or wanted to go (stores, the river, a state park). We highly recommend this host and location.

Perfect family spring break!

We wanted a stress free, enjoyable spring break for our family of five, and had a wonderful time at the Grafton Getaway. There were so many fun things to keep the kids entertained, both outdoors and indoors, comfortable sleeping arrangements, and Brandon was very helpful and friendly with suggestions for things to do in the area. Amazing property! Amazing host!

My husband and I had 6 boys together at this property for my sons 10th birthday sleepover party. The property was amazing. There was so much for the kids to run around and do. I wish we'd actually had more time and stayed longer than one night. They had so much fun picking their location to sleep within the house, and their favorite part might have been naming all of the chickens. The host was just as great! He communicated timely and was kind and helpful! We look forward to checking out this property again as well as his other ones. I definitely recommend!!

Delightful Farm

Out in rural Jersey County, you will find this cozy, quaint and quirky farmhouse. The area is beautiful with fall trees changing colors and the brisk fall breeze. We enjoyed fishing, paddle boating and kayaking on the farm pond. The 2 ducks on the farm pond are darling! The hens were one of my favorite activities letting them out in the morning. We used to have chickens. I got into several foosball wars with my companions. We also enjoyed the numerous games and movies available within the house. This house is amazing! The amount of bedrooms in nooks and crannies is one of the coolest features! You’ll not be disappointed with this property! 5 stars! Thank you for the wonderful memories! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

College Reunion

3 young families, 7 kids under age of 4. We had a great time. Most laid back (in a good way) host I have experienced, check in/out was a breeze. It is an older farmhouse not a new build so just have appropriate expectations, photos are accurate. Very well furnished, comfortable beds. Very thoughtful with variety of kids activisties, our kids enjoyed the trucks, gravel pit, kid zone, trampoline, paddle boat, and gathering eggs. Would absolutely go back.

We had such a great family vacation! There were ages 8 months to 94 years old. Great grandparents, grandparents & all of the adult children & their children. A truly one of a time vacation and everyone had a fantastic time. Grafton Getaway was exactly as advertised! Very clean, every family had their own room & there was plenty of space for all of us to be together. Bedrooms on the main floor for elderly to stay with bathroom. We enjoyed all of the games especially in the nice cool garage! The pond was so beautiful & even though it was extremely hot, we did some ping pong in the barn. Nightly gatherings at the gazebo too! Something for everyone. Most of all priceless memories were made. Brandon was great to work with. Wish I could give more than 5 stars!!!

The home and property are absolutely gorgeous. We vacationed with our four sons and their families. They live in four different states and rarely get together. Their was so much to do with our grandchildren. It was both exciting and relaxing. Brandon was very helpful and he answered all our questions immediately. Can't wait to return!

White Family Vacation

If you want quality time with your family, a time to teach them values while making memories, then leave those expensive theme parks behind and go to the farm! This place is a quaint little Getaway with so much to offer for every age. The barn loft, Harry Potter room and game room are perfect for teens (adults too lol); the fishing, ducks and chickens delighted the younger ones (adults too, lol) and the record room, music, hammocks great for adults. Everything was there for cooking. a nice pantry, plenty of beds, toiletries, toys, puzzles, games. Really no need to even leave the farm. However, it is located in the perfect spot close to everything. The historic little river towns have so much to offer, we loved exploring and learning about the river's importance. So much to see and do we didn't have time to see it all. Be sure to check dates as events are abundant, we enjoyed Thursday - Music in the Park and collected commemorate glasses given for eating at local restaurants week. When we could talk everyone into leaving the farm for awhile lol! Kids enjoyed getting fresh eggs each morning and we had them for breakfast every day. During the day there was a paddle boat and kayak to enjoy and evening time around a campfire with plenty of seating and an huge amount of fire wood. A charcoal grill with charcoal are on site, I know i've missed some things, just really hard to mention all that is available! Family enjoyed time here getting our kicks on Route 66!

Some reservations

Pros: Very friendly and responsive host Well-stocked with soaps, paper products, and a variety of spices and food items Lots of things to do, especially for kids Space to spread out, lots of rooms and property to enjoy Kids loved the "arcade" room in the garage Cons: The rooster was aggressive and caused injury to one of the kids - If the rooster is still there, please be very cautious. Bathrooms: the half bath is VERY "rustic" and not kid-friendly. As a result, the majority of the group will likely end up using one bathroom, primarily. The hot water heater seemed to be set very high, and especially in the main floor shower, couldn't be set at a cool enough temperature to be suitable for all. Most of the useable space, including the sleeping space, in the barn is accessed only by navigating a ladder, which rules it out as a suitable sleeping space for many (i.e. anyone who may need to use the restroom during the night). Younger kids can't safely play in the "kid zone" without close adult supervision Be aware of tripping hazards with many flooring transitions throughout the house, and several areas where stairs are irregular in size. Overall, we had a fun and memorable stay, with some issues. Would not stay at this property again. Listing needs more pictures (half bathroom, access to barn). We had enough suitable space for our group of 12, but were glad not to have additional guests, due to unconventional spaces that made some areas difficult to utilize fully.

Perfect family getaway

Thank you Brandon for hosting our family! We had a blast—fishing, ping-pong, bags, darts, playing records and so much more. The house is an adventure & discovered so many rooms. Lots of room for everyone in our family. We are huge Harry Potter fans and loved the 9 3/4 room! The chickens and ducks brought us so much joy everyday. The house is spotless, well-maintained; with modern amenities. Very clean home and beddings were comfy. To wind down our day, we loved the big screen TV in the family room. Nice to gather around the fire pit. Well-stocked kitchen & loved the coffee pods! Had a great stay and we were sad to leave. This is the best place for family bonding time as there are so many indoor/outdoor games available or simply sitting outside enjoying the peace and quiet.
