Scouting trip to check out area and enjoy weather and views. Cozy cabin with everything you need and roomy enough for a family. Sandra was very responsive and helpful during our stay.
The cabin was as described. Communication with the owner was great. Everything was clean and the Bally kitchen while smaller was very well equipped. We ran into some snafus with the heater and fireplace but the owner was able to get the heater quickly resolved and apologized about the fire place. We also had an issue with the hot tub which again she communicated with us and we were able to get it up and running to be use it our last day. We would absolutely stay here again if we were in the area and highly recommend the property.
Well-appointed cabin suitable for several travelers
Couldn't have asked for anything more in this cozy, nestled-in-the-woods cabin. Quiet location, with easy drives to multiple attractions. Everything was clean and comfortable. We spent a lot of time on the porches, swinging and relaxing in the hot tub.

Wonderful place to stay with family. Rustic but clean, comfortable, great TV options, super amenities and fully equipped kitchen and bathrooms. Host was very available and helpful. We would definitely book there again.
The property is lovely and quiet but the information that is on vrbo about distance to places are way wrong but other than the drive to Bristol it was a great weekend
With a little *leap* up the driveway, we made it to a well kept, warm and cozy place for my wife and kids to stay. So much better than a hotel and we loved having a kitchen. A bed for every kid!
My family had a blast! The cabin was very easy to find and located on a quiet little road. Everything was so well cleaned and stocked with anything you might need! The owner was fantastic about communication and responded immediately to any of my questions! They have literally thought of everything and the cabin is even child safety proofed!! We will absolutely be coming back to this beautiful getaway!

About the host

My husband Paul retired from the USMC after 20 years of service. I spent my career in ophthalmology as a technician and retinal angiographer. We live in on a horse farm in eastern NC close area beaches, and recently celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary. Our son Christian recently turned two, and he is our inspiration for Leap Frog Lodge. He loves jumping around like a frog and saying "ribbit, ribbit" when he does. He is the answer to our prayers, our most precious blessing, and we are lucky to be his parents.
Why they chose this property
We recently sold a long term rental in Wilmington, NC and decided to purchase an Airbnb/VRBO property. I grew up in east Tennessee, and I've always loved the mountain vies. We chose this cabin because it is cozy, peaceful, and has beautiful views of the mountains. Watauga Lake is approximately 2 miles away, and it is breathtakingly beautiful and the 3rd cleanest lake in the US.
What makes this property unique
I loved this cabin because it instantly felt like home, and it had a porch swing which I love. It required little work, just a few minor touches to make it our own. I want our son to learn about nature, and he is happy there.
