This home had everything you could ask for. It was very cozy and the owner has put very thoughtful touches into the property. Would definitely stay again!

The cottage was the perfect solution to be close to my parents over the Thanksgiving holiday. The place has a quirky charm, is thoughtfully decorated and is comfortable with an efficient layout and has everything you would need for a short stay. We slept well and appreciated the location. Rebecca was lovely and extremely responsive to any questions we had during our stay. Would definitely recommend if you need a place in Halesite/Huntington Bay.
This is a very small house.
Too much furniture, Too much stuff. No seating around table for eating.for two maybe, but stuffed.
No lamps are tables by bed for reading, only light in master was overhead.
This is perfect for two, cerntinly not 4 adults or 2 sm. children. The bed was on the floor, you couldn't move without running into a fake candle. The shower doesn't work well.
The road is busy and dangerous to pull out of driveway.
No dishwasher, dish soap, or extra blankets.
I felt misled. If you are buy yourself or there for a day or two, it would be good. I paid way to much money for what We got.
We enjoyed our short stay at the cottage! The thoughtful amenities were appreciated (especially ALL your coffee needs except dairy, toiletries, filtered water ready in the fridge), and there were probably more we didn’t take advantage of…we were only there for 3 days and didn’t cook in the house but noticed the pantry was stocked with spices and cooking essentials. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. The outdoor area was lovely and well maintained but we didn’t use it much because of mosquitoes. Do pay attention to the listing’s description about stairs both outside and inside the house…older or clumsy folks like us have to take them slowly, but the climb is worth it :) Our one suggestion for improvement would be to use shorter curtains for the window AC units…you can’t close the curtains without the AC unit sucking them in, and leaving the curtains open at night feels much less private. We will definitely stay again because the house was ideally located near our new favorite Italian restaurant, the harbor view and sunsets were great, and the house itself was a wonderful mix of cozy antique charm and modern amenities.
Great location, attentive host. Very cute cottage - with everythng we beed. Cute outside (covered) space to relax.

Great Location-Old and Small
I'm going to list the positives and negatives in list form since the listing doesn't do a great job of explaining. These are things I would have liked to know before renting.
Positives Location in Huntington is central
Clean, cute
Negatives/concerns
The location of the driveway is dangerous to pull out of due to the intersection with traffic light.
A sizeable walk from the driveway up many stairs to the home.
No Hot Tub but listing says it has one
Very small inside. It is a very old house so that can be expected but they have so many unnecessary furniture items that it makes it feel so much smaller than it really needs to be (huge single chairs and tables that hold nothing of importance.
It says it sleep six with an air mattress but there is no room for one unless you move a bunch of furniture. Really sleeps 4
A/C is window units. The bathroom has no a/c. Went in August. It was warm.
The kitchen is stocked well but doesn't have a toaster which every kitchen should have.
The stairs to the upstairs are very steep and narrow.
Overall our stay went well and it worked for our needs but could have been so much better if we had known these things ahead of time
This cozy little nugget is tucked just behind another house and rests under a giant canopy of maple trees. The hidden steps take you back in time to a warm and wonderful home. Clean and tidy, complete with modern amenities, this vintage gem was the perfect spot for our family of three to use as home base while exploring the endless attractions on Long Island.
The cottage was a perfect distance to the village for eating and entertainment and had a beautiful view of the marina. It was clean and well equipped with everything we needed.
We had a nice stay in this fun harbor town. So many beautiful beaches and great restaurants! Our favorites were Centerport beach, the Cactus Cafe, and Mundays for breakfast. Renters should know there is a steep staircase- not a problem for our crew.
Was so glad to stay in such a cozy cottage home for my first trip to New York. Gave the feel of being home in Maine with the excitement of seeing the big city not too far away. Was the perfect place to come kick your feet up after a long day walking around and site seeing!
We were able to manage, but need to be aware of rather steep stairs getting to house and short, turned stairs in home In addition, the aerobed was nice but fills most of the living room when inflated leaving little space to pass. Upstairs bedrooms and bath were nice!
A quaint cottage in a lovely part of Long Island. Very nicely decorated and clean. Well stocked with kitchen and household items to make your stay convenient. Communication with host was easy, she responds quickly and she is very attentive. My family enjoyed their stay.

This was our second stay at this wonderful cottage. We stayed over two weeks this time and enjoyed all the location had to offer. Host Rebecca is extremely easy to work with and responsive. This was a great choice again for our family vacation on Long Island.
We loved the veranda in the early morning with the "fire pit". No problem with parking. Restaurants were great, we ate more than we should-if that's a problem :) This was a super stay. Thank you.
We had busy days and comfortable beds. This was a perfect location for our visit.
