Make memories while grilling for your group on the outdoor gas grill or hanging out around the firepit. Mother nature isn't cooperating weather-wise? No big deal- Heaven Can Wait boasts a comfortable rec room with a ping pong table, a cozy fireplace, and satellite tv. After a day on the river or hiking through the nearby GW National Forest, relax in the large, bubbly hot tub. Here, you can enjoy all the comforts of home while surrounded by the beauty of the Shenandoah River.

Some other things to note about Heaven Can Wait:

-Check-in is at 4 pm, and check-out is at 11 am. Early check-in or late check-out may be available, please ask!

-The base rate includes 4 people. Additional guests are an extra fee of $30 per person per night

-Dogs are welcome! There is a limit of 2, with a pet fee of $100 per dog. The dogs must be over 20 pounds, and we will need a current rabies certificate. Unfortunately, we can't accept cats. Sorry about that!

-There is no trash service in this area. We ask that you please take your trash with you- there is information in the cabin on where to go to take it so that you don't have to take it all the way home with you! Alternatively, housekeeping can remove it for you for a tip of $5 per bag.

- There is a separate security deposit required for this property. Please feel free to ask us if you have any questions about it- we are happy to answer them!

-There is wi-fi here, but due to the nature of the provider (satellite) and rural area, the signal may not be reliable.

-PLEASE NOTE: The optional firewood charge of $10/night is for firewood. If you don't think you will use the firewood or would like to bring your own, please let us know! We are more than happy to refund that to you.

-PLEASE NOTE for November - March bookings: During these winter months, a four-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicle is recommended in case of implement weather.

Perfect getaway

This was the perfect cabin especially with young kids. Our kids enjoyed the playground, short walk to the river, tetherball and fire pit to make s’mores. Inside was just as fun and comfy with darts and ping pong. We would highly recommend booking this cabin for a relaxing getaway!

Amazing place to stay!

This place is beautiful! Perfect location if you like secluded but not too far away from things. About 45 minutes from Shenandoah which wasn’t bad at all. Shenandoah rentals were fantastic to deal with. Any questions I had were quickly responded to. The river was beautiful to walk down to. Definitely would stay there again!

Quite and off the beaten track

The house was clean, and the best stocked vacation rental we have ever stayed in. Everything worked. it is located down a gravel road so there was very little traffic, back in the country kind of setting but just about 20 min from downtown.

Exactly what a cabin should be

Great property! A short 2 min walk to the river. Hot tub, fire pit, and big children’s playground. Nice welcome basket and has both K-cup and drip coffee makers. Pet friendly. Definitely get your groceries before coming up — it’s 25 min drive back into town.

Great getaway!

Had a great time at Heaven Can Wait. Cabin was very clean and wrap around deck was awesome. Off the beaten path but less the 30 minutes from shopping. Shenandoah river was crystal clear and good fishing. Firepit at night was great! More than enough room for 6 people.

Mountain & River delight

We picked this location because it was along the Shenandoah River, and because we wanted a family sized cabin that would also allow dogs. COVID

Lovely river setting. House is ideal for families and friends. I went with friends and we were able to relax and enjoy the calmness, but lord for kids to do too. Loved the layout of house and porch, can all hang out or have separate groups, because we know how families are :) hot tub right under porch, and two nice bathrooms. Highly recommend!!!!!

Great getaway

Located along the river, the facility has everything you need to rest, relax and enjoy the summer with a dip in the pool. The wrap around porch with an enclosed gas grill is great for viewing the spectacular sunsets and surrounding mountain. We met here for a family get together with our sons and their children and all had a good time particularly since it had been quite a while we all could get together. Highly recommend this place and the rental staff is very helpful.

Cabin was wonderful!

Cabin was well stocked with the essentials aiding in less packing for a quick getaway. Upstairs and downstairs can easily be used by separate families if needed as everything is on both levels, kitchen, living space, bathroom, bedroom, fireplace. Only opportunity was the distance to hot tub and river appeared closer than the 0.25 mi walk to both when reviewing on website.

NYmet its getaway

Highly recommend. We arrived late at night and we pleasantly suprised when we opened the doors to an amazing log cabin resort. The 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, living and kitchen areas were clean and welcoming. Not only did we find basic supplies avaiable but it had many other needed items. The welcome basket was also a nice touch. The mattresses were a bit lacking but itherwise everything was perfect. Hot tub outside at night, rocing xhairs on the porch in the am, corkscrew have asked for more. The water is within walking distance, great for early morning quiet. The location is on a dirt road (6 miles ), so be prepared to clean your car after leaving. Communication from staff and agency was great before during and after. Definitely worth it. Hoping to get back there this year for some winter fun

Review.

The stay house was great. Although when we first got there, we weren't there but for maybe 30 minutes and the power went out. We had no service and no idea what was going on so we had to drive into town. The helicopters were trimming the trees so the power was intentionally cut off. The hot tub could have been cleaner, there was a film on top of the water and a lot of dirt in it. But besides that, it was a great time! 😊

A great escape!

This truly was a peaceful place to get away to. It was also among the cleanest! Kids really enjoyed cooking over the firepit, visiting the river, spotting wildlife, the playground and amazing wrap around deck. Inside feels cozy with plenty of room for games, naps and relaxing. Luray Caverns is about 40 minutes away and worth a visit. Flotzies is a must for milkshakes! Definitely on the list for another visit! Some additional details that I usually look for in reviews: There is a highchair available, so no need to bring your own. Cell signal really is sparse, Verizon had absolutely none, ATT may get a single bar outside, near the firepit. In the final few miles, signal comes and goes, so if you are relying on your phone for navigation, it may temporarily drop. That's not a big deal since the house is easily visible from the road and not hard to miss. The stairs are straight, meaning no turns/breaks. There is a baby gate in one of the closets that can be used to block off stair access if you aren't comfortable with your little ones around them. The last ~6 miles are well-maintained gravel and there are some areas that you will need to go slow and pay attention but most vehicles will be ok. I'd feel comfortable with a FWD minivan/sedan on it when not snowy/icy, though it is a little nerve-wracking when encountering another vehicle on one of the turns/inclines. It's probably expected, but there is no delivery here. We just planned meals and stopped by Food Lion/Walmart before arriving, the cold items were fine for the remainder of the drive.

Mediocre and Needs serious repairs

Upon arrival, you are greeted by a deeply rutted driveway which is only acceptable if you have a 4x4 with high ground clearance. It's in desperate need of repair so that standard vehicles can navigate it without having to carefully drive on the side of it. Then you get to the property, which has tiny bedrooms. There is barely enough room for the queen beds and you literally have to shuffle sideways to get in and out of bed. Then there's the water. Very strange smell, and terrible taste, would definitely not drink it. Very glad that we brought our own water because it is definitely not drinkable and I wouldn't prepare any food with it. Hot tub doesn't mention it's another tenth of a mile down the deeply rutted driveway and that over half the jets don't even work. And don't even think about sleeping in. Not a single window has curtains, only very thin blinds, which means whatever time the sun gets up, so will you. Afternoon nap? Nope, not happening with all the bedrooms filled with sunline. And when they said internet might be spotty, what they really meant was that you had 50/50 odds of even being able to load your email. Don't even think about doing a google search. Hope that you have satellite nav for your vehicle, because no way maps will load. Overall extremely disappointing with many areas that need improvement and repair.

More Than Meets The Eye

AMAZING. The photos and description did not provide the full story of how wonderful this place is. The kitchen and living room set up was so open and provided plenty of access to eat and nap throughout the stay. Downstairs, we discovered a ping pong table; and it was tournament time! Great spaces for outdoor fires and the rocking chairs by the river were just what we needed.
