I cannot say enough about this lovely VRBO property and it's wonderful hosts! Alison and Todd were warm and welcoming from the moment I pulled into the driveway; they even left an assortment of local pastries to enjoy! I stayed at Moon Glo cottage while I searched for a Maine home to call my own and I'm happy to now include Alison and Todd as new friends. This is a wonderful place to stay while you explore all that the area has to offer. Thanks again to my wonderful hosts and new friends!
Perfect on-the-lake location, spotlessly clean, lots of extra perks including luxury towels/bedding, free use of kayaks/paddleboard, three-berry pie on arrival, friendly hosts, daily loon and eagle sitings. . . amazing family vacation!
We are feeling completely relaxed and refreshed from our week long stay at The Moon-Glo cottage! It was everything we had hoped for in booking a summer lakeside escape. While preparing for our trip, Alison was quick to respond to questions and to provide suggestions. When we arrived we were greeted with freshly cut flowers, a homemade pie, and an impeccably clean cottage! The cottage had all of the amenities (inside and outside) that we needed for our family of 4 (and to host 4 family members for a couple days too). It also offered a location that was walking distance to appreciated conveniences (bait and ice-cream ;), a short drive to groceries, and reasonable drives for day-trips (Augusta and Freeport). We enjoyed boating, tubing, fishing, kayaking and swimming on the lake, as well as spotting loons and eagles. This trip offered the perfect mix of adventuring and relaxing! Thank you Alison and Todd for great summer memories!
The camp is located on a beautiful and quiet cove. The swimming and fishing were excellent. The camp has all the amenities to host multiple multigenerational family gatherings and between the farm stands and nearby markets shopping is convenient! Lovely and satisfying week
We were greeted with a lovely personal note and handmade pie from a local bakery, which was exquisite! The cottage easily accommodated the four adults, three kids and two small dogs in our party. Having the downstairs for the kids and dogs was essential for rainy days. The kitchen and pantry were fully stocked with all the essentials plus extra items. We took full advantage of all that Moon-Glo had to offer! From the paddleboard and kayaks, to fishing off the dock. We ended up catching five different kinds of fish and saw an array of wild animals. Including a beaver, turtles, loons and a bald eagle who graced us with its presence soaring through the pines all week. At night we had a campfire and ate s’mores, after our bbq dinner on the deck. The cottage is set in the basin of the lake, making it a smaller private protected lake from the wind and businesses of boaters. The town offers an ice cream shop, bakery and convenience store within less than 5 minutes. Hannaford, Dunkin Donuts and Walgreens are all within 15 minutes should you need. Many core memories were made during the week of our stay. We will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you Todd & Alison.
We typically do two fishing trips a year (spring/fall) and bounce around different lakes in ME. However, after having found "Lovely Cottage on Androscoggin Lake" we have already decided that we would be back again next year. The property is well kept, large driveway for our trucks and boat trailers, house is super clean, and has plenty of room with the walkout finished basement. Hosts were fantastic and great to work with. Overall A+++
The Vacation home exceeded our expectations. It is a cozy. home with a beautiful view of the Lake. The home came fully equipped with everything we needed for our vacation. The owners live next door and made us feel welcome. We will definitely be coming back.
This cabin was just perfect for our family vacation. The waterfront area was great for grandkids learning to swim and adults wanting to hang on the dock. We enjoyed the paddle-boarding, kayaking, the fire pit, and having dinner on the upper deck. When we had a thunderstorm, we gathered in the area under the deck. Alison was a terrific host. She was responsive to emails and left a sparkling clean cabin with fresh flowers and a delicious three-berry pie. We would love to return!
This was our second time staying at the Moon-Glo cottage. We looked forward to coming back all year! The cottage is clean and stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The location is absolutely perfect for a relaxing week at the lake. Thank you Ali and Todd!!
We choose this camp on Androscoggin Lake because it was centrally located for the ease of family and friends coming to visit or stay the night. We were able to slow the summer down for this one week and really connect with loved ones. We swam kayaked, fished and enjoyed watching the wildlife throughout the day and evenings. The camp has everything one might need for convenience and the hosts were lovely and helpful. Truly a recharge.
The Moon-Glo Cottage was wonderful! The cottage was charming, welcoming, clean and had all the essentials. The view of the lake was amazing and the sound of the loons was beautiful. We even had a family of loons to enjoy during our week at the lake. Our days were busy on the lake as we rented a boat and we could easily walk to the Wayne General Store where we purchased fresh bread and they had a very nice selection of beer and wine. A wonderful vacation on the lake!!.
Everything was great, the spaces are updated, there is enough room to move around, relax, etc. The deck overlooking the lake is where I spent a lot of time. Alison was great to work with and very helpful.
Our stay at the cottage was nothing short of magical. It began with a welcoming 3-berry pie left by the owners, we were showered with helpful suggestions about things to do with our kids and loved every minute spent in this beautiful spot. Our children loved everything about this weekend and cannot wait to return.
Moon Glo has everything you would want in a cottage
The owners have thought out many things that you can enjoy during your stay. Kayaks, firewood, games, books, dock, many chairs, coffee makers; so organized.
The hosts are fantastic! The house is beautiful and the setting is vintage Maine at its best. The views of the lake from both floors are incredible, along with the deck view. Whether sitting on the waters edge on the dock or having a fire at night in the fire pit, it doesn't get any better than this. The hosts have thought of everything. We lacked nothing during our 8 week stay. We were able to work remotely as needed in the peacefulness of the house. Wayne village is the quintessential Maine village with Augusta and Portland short drives away.
Highly recommend!
The Moon Glo Cottage was even nicer than our expectations. With such a beautiful view of Androscoggin lake as well. The place felt just like home away from home. Allison and Todd were wonderful hosts who also think of and provide anything you could possibly need. The place was also immaculate. When we weren’t out site seeing beautiful Maine , I was on the lake fishing which was also tremendous. Wonderful memories for us. We hope to get back and know where to stay.
We had a wonderful stay here - house was very clean and just like the photos; wonderful lake front with multiple places to sit and kayaks and a SUP; and lots of wildlife spotting! The hosts are very warm but give you plenty of privacy (they live next door) and check in and communication was easy. There were a number of great farm stands nearby and we took a few outings (for fried fish dinner at Fast Eddie's Drive In, beer at Bateau Brewing in Gardiner, and the August dog park). Wifi is excellent - my partner had to work during the week and had no trouble with speed or connection. Lovely place and we hope to return next summer!
Moon Glo cottage is sparkling clean and beautifully laid out with a gorgeous deck over looking the lake. The small town of Wayne is walking distance although several places are only open Wed - Sun. The swimming off the dock is refreshing and we loved the kayaks and the paddle board. A Bald Eagle and a pair of Loons paid visits several times. Spend an afternoon reading in the hammock or sunbathing on the dock. Evenings are perfect for dinner on the deck and S'mores at the firepit. You won't believe the star gazing from down on the dock. We made a trip to the Colby Art Museum in Waterville and also to Portland for a great lobster dinner and some shopping. Wayne is secluded and quiet -- but easy distance from other activities. In season remember to pick blueberries at Steep Hill Farm about 15 minutes away. The hosts live next door and couldn't be more helpful and gracious. You can't go wrong with this cottage -- we'll be back!
We had a wonderful stay at the Moon-Glo Cottage! We rent homes often for vacation, and this one was one of the best! The cottage is immaculate and stocked with everything needed for the week. And the location! The lake is essentially the front yard. We spent the week boating, kayaking, fishing, and swimming. Thank you Alison and Todd for your hospitality! We hope to be back!
