Mildew smelly, bit dirty in a converted hotel building
This "condo" is actually a converted hotel with the beds right by the hallway window. The narrow kitchen is difficult to pass another person, and the photos exaggerate the width of it. My hubby and I are 165 and 130 pounds respectively, & was hard for us. A big person could stand at the stove and have their backside touch the wall. The bathroom was lovely and clean, and a good size shower - but if you are 6' the shower head sprays you right in the face. The wood dresser in bedroom absorbed the mildew smell so we couldn't unpack. The other dresser in the living room had mouse droppings in the drawers. We hung what we could but with only 8 or 10 hangers for 2 people most of our clothes stayed in the suitcases. When the smell and cleanliness issues were mentioned to owner, they sent someone in to clean - without our permission and without our knowledge. This made us feel completely unsafe the rest of the stay. There is no safe in the condo, so we felt leaving things like computer and passport very risky. We finally realized the source of the mildew smell came from the a/c in the bedroom, so once we shut that off, it was much better. There was only 1 end table next to the couch so if you wanted a drink it had to go on the floor. The view was fantastic and we spent a lot of time on the balcony where the smell was great, the sunrises were spectacular, and we had a view of the Skywheel from downtown. Would not rent from this owner again.
