About this property

Oglethorpe Square Retreat is located right off of Oglethorpe Square, only one block from Broughton Street, and minutes from the river. This first floor apartment is great for guests that do not wish to compromise location, but desire to remain in a more residential area. The space gleams with natural light, from the large windows in every room, and boasts with historic features such as original hardwood flooring, high ceilings, and restored fireplaces.

Enter into the building with the secure keypad, and head back to your new Home away from Home! Upon entering you'll find the spacious living room, that features an ample amount of comfortable seating, a flat screen television, and large windows that fill the space with natural light. Guests can take advantage of the sofa that converts into a queen size bed, if needed. Off of this space, you'll find the large bathroom with plenty of space to store your belongings, and a shower/tub combination, perfect for soaking the long day away.

Head to the back of the apartment to find the renovated kitchen, that is equipped with all of the modern conveniences one could wish for. From the elevated white granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and fully stocked kitchen, you'll want to prepare home-cooked meals every night! The quaint and charming bistro table can be served as a dining space, workspace, or place to gather for a game of cards!

Tucked away off of the living room, the cozy bedroom awaits! You'll will find a king-size bed, along with a tall wardrobe that can be utilized for all of your belongings.

Situated directly across from Oglethorpe Square, guests are just a few steps away from Savannah attractions such as Owens-Thomas House, Telfair Museum, and the string of local shops and cafes along Broughton Street, Savannah's "Main Street". Walk through the squares with an ice cold beverage from one of the several bars found in City Market, heading towards River Street to see the massive cargo ships sail by at sunset.

Parking is on-street and metered, which is enforced by the City of Savannah Monday to Saturday, from 8am to 8pm. Guests are encouraged to either purchase a prepaid parking pass at the Savannah Visitor Center, or find a nearby parking garage to store their vehicle in for the remainder of their stay.

The Price - Review

The location was excellent! Check in/out was seamless. Floors were not very clean and we found a dirty towel in the bathroom upon arrival. The bed mattress (too soft) and pillows were very uncomfortable (flimsy). The couch fabric seemed dirty. The couch pillows were also not comfortable/no support. Overall, it seemed like a very old/unsupportive couch. TV in the bedroom did not work. Water temp in the shower was barely warm. Savannah as a city was charming and we loved walking everywhere.

This was our second stay here. It’s Cozy, quaint, full of Old South charm and within walking distance to everything we love about Savannah. We walk to a different coffee shop each morning. Short drive for a great Tybee day at the beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location was fantastic. The décor was fitting and overall comfortable. Only issue we had was how poor the sleeper sofa was. I think it's misleading to advertise the sleeper sofa when it was a paper thin mattress and you slept on the metal bar of the sofa the entire night. It was also very bright sleeping in the living room, so some curtains on the upper windows would be nice. Please invest in a better sleeper sofa.

Beautiful historic apartment building. Perfect for a couple. 4 stars only because there were no curtains/blinds on the windows (only shutters on bottom portion) and outside security lights shined into the bedroom making it VERY bright and hard to sleep. No issues with privacy as there were no windows on the adjacent building looking in! Parking was interesting 😉 for those who aren’t used to a busy/tourist city. Would definitely recommend this location! Just bring a sleep mask! (A fan would have been lovely too!)

I was very pleased with the location of this rental, it was easily walkable to many attractions and delicious restaurants. The bathroom was clean, but the floors in the other rooms did not look like they had been adequately cleaned. The sheets were too small for the bed so the fitted sheet and mattress cover were continually coming off. However, the most disappointing aspect was there were no window coverings for the upper half of any of the windows in the unit. The lower half of the windows had some slat shutters that let a lot of light in. There were many lights outside on the street shining directly into all of the rooms, including the bedroom, which was inconvenient overnight. I contacted the rental company the first night and informed them of the lack of window coverings, I was told by the employee that they would try to get someone out to address the issue. However, the issue was not addressed. I do not think I would stay here again though the unit was in a very convenient location.

Great Stay in Savannah!

Perfect location for walking to restaurants and points of interest. Comfortable unit with ample seating for 3 ppl. Cleaning was not up to my standards...cracker/chip crumbs from previous guests in cabinets. Dirty footprints in bathroom. However, our coffee pot broke in the dishwasher and Management was very prompt at providing a new coffee maker. I would stay here again and definitely recommend Lucky Savannah.

Only issue is that there is no curtain in the bedroom, so the bright light from the alleyway shines into the room at night. An easy fix, but definitely needs a curtain. The shower curtain is also very cheap and doesn't touch the top of the tub, creating a leaking issue. Also, a very easy fix.

Great location!

We had a wonderful stay. It was such a great location for my me and my partner to enjoy a long weekend in the city. I needed to work one day and the Wifi was strong enough for video calls. Parking was super easy with a garbage on the next box. We’d definitely love to stay here again when we’re back in Savannah!

This property was just as described and pictured. We did have a hiccup with the air conditioning and the office was very accommodating, even offering to find us another home if maintenance couldn’t rectify the issue. We ended up being able to stay the entire time at this location. It is central to all activities. Easy to catch the trolly. Easy access for Uber. Great vacation in Savannah 😊

Absolutely adorable condo in the heart of downtown Savannah. Walkable to everything! The bedroom is large and the bed is big and comfortable. The couch is also comfortable. The pull out wasn't the best but what pull out is? I also thought it was really funny but weird that the shower curtain liner was shorter than the tub so you had to use the actual fabric shower curtain on the inside of the tub. You could tell people had been doing this because it was stained a different color on the bottom where I had been continuously getting wet inside the tub. Everything was really great though even despite that. It was clean and felt so cozy and comfortable. I could definitely live in something like that! So cute!

A block away from Leopolds ice cream, shops, a 5 minute walk to the Riverwalk with all the restaurants, shops, activities.The only recommendation for the owners...we need the shutters over the windows to cover the entire window for more privacy.... was concerned about other apartments being able to see in our bedroom and walking through the living room while getting dressed.We would definitely stay there again. It was clean and a perfect place to stay.
