About this property
Charming half-timbered ancient barn in Normandy
In the heart of the Norman countryside, between Bernay and Lisieux, Orbec and Livarot, ancient barn, in a typical Norman style full of charm, will seduce you with its wide spaces. With its flowered and wooded garden of 5000 m2 you will enjoy the tranquility of the location.
This charming 240 m2 house consists of a ground floor and an upper floor. On the ground floor: an entrance/library, a large open and equipped kitchen connected to the dining room, a spacious living room with a large fireplace and a wood stove, an office-living room-TV-piano, ideal for teleworking. Laundry room, toilet. Upstairs: 3 bedrooms with double beds, a baby cot and possibility to add 2 other beds. A large bathroom with shower and bathtub and a separate toilet. Many board games/Wii are available. Wifi, fiber optic network. Outside, garden tables, a barbecue, a large plancha, a deep fryer, a brazier, a tennis table, sun loungers, hammock, etc.
For nature lovers, numerous walks are quickly accessible through winding paths in the hills and valleys of the Pays d'Auge. You can buy in organic market gardeners located less than 10 minutes away seasonal vegetables. Cheeses are still sold on farms or in the grocery stores of Orbec or Livarot, which offer a variety of local products.
You will have the pleasure of reaching the sea in Deauville in 55 minutes. Many activities are available in the vicinity: horseback riding, a zoo, castle visits, museums, cideries, fishing ponds, cheese routes, and more.
Many stud farms are located near the house, including the Haras de Montfort et Préaux, located in our municipality, to which Queen Elizabeth II had entrusted her stallion. A 10-minute drive away, the town of Orbec offers the charms of the Pays d'Auge. A small medieval town, it has preserved its architectural heritage with its half-timbered houses, private mansions, churches, manors, and mills. Don't miss the troglodyte visit to the last mushroom cellar in Normandy.
In Livarot, you will also find many tourist attractions: a visit to the Graindorge cheese dairy, the discovery of historical heritage related to cheese production, the Château de Fervaques, and the Manor de Bellou, etc. You will discover many other castles nearby.
A bit further in Bernay, the Pastoral de la Charentonne Golf Course, cinema, and theater complement the cultural and sports activities of the region.
30 minutes from the house, we invite you to visit Lisieux, famous worldwide thanks to Saint Thérèse and becoming the second pilgrimage city after Lourdes.
Cleaning option: €80 Sheets and towels can be provided for an additional fee.
