Wonderful, peaceful place. Everything you need is there! We enjoyed the Shepherd’s Loop Trail at Lake Fort Smith State Park which is just down the mountain/across the road from the property. Easily accessible to the state park. Bring in all your food and drinks. Nearest grocery store 20 miles away.
We had a lovely time during our stay in this cozy, clean house tucked up under the trees! The home had everything we needed. We came to visit our daughter for Thanksgiving, who is studying at U of A. The Traeger was perfect for smoking bacon for breakfast and turkey for Thanksgiving. The big outdoor fire pit had ample chopped firewood for us to use and teach our girls to start a fire! Plenty of space inside for our family and outside in the screened in porch and yard. Especially loved the dry sauna! Lots of privacy and close to many trails and parks.
We loved the serenity and beautiful morning sunrises! Our stay was brief but we would love to come back sometime to use the fire pit, porch games, and explore the area a bit more. Great, clean cabin with everything we needed!
We completely enjoyed our stay and couldn’t ask for more. It was very clean and inviting. The area was quiet and we only saw one other vehicle during our stay and the people were friendly. Inside the home was very clean and was much better in person than the photos. The view from the front porch was fantastic as we had the morning coffee there.
We had a little bit of trouble getting the key to work initially but the host responded quickly and had someone to the house within 10 minutes to help.
The house was perfect and proximity to state parks could not be beat.
Favorites: Band of Horses music playing on record player setting mood while we unpacked and got settled. Enjoyed listening to records while we played a card game at the table each night.
View: Front porch (during winter when leaves are down) looks out over valley and hills. We saw fog roll down the hill in the am- birds going nuts (in an enjoyable way). Rainbow landed right in the valley.
Quality of Furnishings/Decor Touches- This family takes great pride in providing a classy experience. My son enjoyed the interesting xylophone on the dresser.
Sauna- So awesome.
Porch- So awesome.
We have an all wheel drive Honda Pilot. That was a suitable vehicle for this awesome place. Great stay.
We found this gem back in the summer and I knew we should book it again. So I chose this for my Birthday get away! It was a great weekend. Ran to Fayetteville for the Farmers Market, grabbed some fresh vegetables, quick lunch and got in some Christmas shopping. Then back to the cottage for a relaxing evening that ended with a trip out to the sauna. Monday morning came too soon!
We absolutely LOVED our stay here - such a beautiful home and area! It was the perfect size for our family (of 4) - but had more room for a couple more too. Vanessa is so responsive and really thought of so many details that made it feel like home!
We went on nearby hikes (at Devils Den State Park and Lake Fort Smith State Park), enjoyed cooling off in the parks’ pools, and took a day trip to go zip-lining - all really enjoying the Ozarks!
Definitely would choose again!
We such a relaxing time at this property. It was just as described on the listing except better! It was very clean and the setting for the cottage was idyllic with the mountain and lake views. It was refreshing to get away and unwind on the screened porch and listen to the birds and other wildlife while sitting on the swing or in the rocking chairs. We also enjoyed the cornhole game! The cottage itself is very nice and anything you could want or need was already supplied. Our grand kids (who weren't with us) would have loved all of the other kid-friendly games and amenities. Vanessa (the owner) is a gem and was delightful to correspond with. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this cottage to anyone traveling to the Mountainburg or surrounding areas. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
This is the perfect property to relax and unwind. We loved sitting on the screened-in porch and listening to nature. We even saw a doe and fawn walking through the property.
We loved loved loved this house!! The screened in porch and landscaping was amazing. We loved it so much we already booked another stay!!! It’s has a peace and rejuvenating feel.
My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend getaway. We wanted to explore the Ozark area and stay in a quaint quiet cozy home. This home met all of our expectations. The house was well stocked and had everything we needed. It was exceptionally clean, the yard and the area was incredibly tranquil and peaceful. If we ever come back to the area we would love to stay here again!
House is well maintained and very clean. Owner was super responsive when we reached out with questions. It is secluded back in the woods up on a hill but in drivable distance to a lot of family friendly activities, lake fort smith & devils den. Not too far to town either.
We had a great stay. Everything was amazing. Clean, fully stocked, loved the screened in porch and the view is breathtaking! If you’re looking for a quiet, country scene then you’re in good hands here! Great owners/managers! Only thing it was missing was a hot tub! The sauna was nice, but I’d much rather have had a hot tub. We would definitely stay here again!
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in the cabin. First of all, it is squeaky clean, comfortable and extremely well stocked! Secondly, the location is perfect - quiet, secluded with gorgeous views! Communication with the owner was nice and easy as well. Will definitely book again!
We stayed here in 2021 and now 2022. We really enjoy this house. It is very family/toddler friendly. You can't go wrong if you're looking for a place with young children or if you're just looking for an adult getaway. Vanessa is always very quick to respond to any questions we have about the house and property. I highly recommend.
They thought of everything! It was such a perfect location. It was quiet, well-stocked, and cozy. The wraparound porch was our favorite. While we didn't use the sauna, it was cool it was there. Very close to Lake Fort Smith State park. Highly recommend.
We spent three nights enjoying this perfect cabin. The property was beautiful and peaceful with a great location that is close to the state parks. The inside of the cabin is well furnished and well stocked. I would highly recommend this property!
