The cabin was great! Comfortable beds, well stocked with everything needed, and great location. Alex was very responsive- answered questions very quickly and was very accommodating to an early check-in request. He also had a lot of good restaurant recommendations. Highly recommend this property.
While I was disappointed at the location , it was completely on me. I didn’t read the description thoroughly. If your looking for a place that’s quiet abd away from other people and on the river , this is not it. This place basically backs up to an RV park. However, everyone I ran into was very nice
The cabin was so beautiful and a great getaway after getting married. The bed was a little hard but we still slept great!! A very cute cabin and peaceful.
I stayed here for the April 2024 Total Solar Eclipse. I felt like the cabin was just as described in the listing. The house is in a neighborhood with many nice homes. People are out walking their dogs, etc. The camper park behind the house is full of very nice campers that appear to me to be set up for folks that like to come in for the weekend and enjoy outdoor activities of Heber Springs. The inside of the home was spotless. The furniture was nice. The mattress was super comfortable. The bathroom is spacious and clean. The kitchen had all the essentials and was also plenty spacious. The wifi worked well, and I was able to participate in a Zoom meeting for work without any glitches. The whole experience was just incredibliy pleasant! This is by far the best VRBO I have stayed in, and if I am ever back in this area, I would definitely want to stay here again!

A few issues
Pros:
- nice area
- spacous cabin with a full kitchen
- nice sized rooms
- close to the river
- not far from downtown Heber Springs and other attractions in the area
-tasty diner right in front of the cabin that has killer quesadillas
Cons:
- all ac units are on the ceiling and they leak. Every single one. There's one that leaks right on the couch, the other two are upstairs and leak tons of water in each room. Its noisy. Its messy. I had to use most of the towels in the cabin just for the leaks, leaving me 3 for the whole trip.
- there's mold in the washer
- the front door has a huge glass window without a curtain, as a solo traveler I felt super vulnerable. All the other curtains downstairs were either sheer or broken. So should someone decide to peek in or break in, it honestly wouldn't be difficult. Luckily it seemed like a nice enough area, but it was still in the back of my mind every night.
- the upstairs master bedroom has a broken door. Because I felt uncomfortable with the door downstairs I also wanted to lock my bedroom door. Unfortunately it was coming off the wall so I had to slide the nightstand in front of it every night.
- When I reached out to the owner about all these issues it took 18 hrs for a response. On my way down he sent a message that said he was in military training and that I could contact this other random guy if I needed anything. I did not feel comfortable doing that so I waited for his reply. He basically said he was sorry I felt

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We loved how close it was to the little red river. The cabin was super nice and clean and we appreciate the owner for allowing us to stay in it for a couple days. The price for renting it was very reasonable. And the area was nice, safe and neighbors were so friendly!!!
My husband and I had a great time on our weekend trip. The location is great and very convenient for fishing. The cabin is very cute, well furnished with lots of nice little touches. We will definitely stay there again!
This is a cute cabin and has all the amenities that you need! We had a great time!

Not a house on the river
This property backs up within 6 feet of a large mobile home park. If you are looking for views - you will get them here. It is a short walking distance to the Little Red River - but there are no views. Also, it is next door to other small houses so there is actually no view in any direction.
The cabin was lovely, it had everything I needed for a couple of days of R&R. Walking to a wade in fishing spot was a plus. The river was beautiful.

About the host
Hosted by Alex Davis - Natural State Retreats LLC
I grew up fishing on the Little Red River and swimming in Greers Ferry lake. Thankfully years later I found my way back to the area and built a log cabin within walking distance of the river I loved to fish growing up.
Why they chose this property
This neighborhood is full of great people, and of course it is right beside one of the best trout fishing rivers in the country!
What makes this property unique
The Log Cabin at Swinging Bridge is a real log cabin with a rustic, homey feel. I built the cabin as a relaxing place to get away and do some great fishing, and I hope others enjoy the same experience.
