Wow - Debby is truly the ultimate VRBO host! We live in the neighborhood and booked this house for our out of town family during Christmas. We ended up cooking and hosting our holiday meals here instead of our own home because of the amazing kitchen/dining/living area. We comfortably cooked and dined with 16 adults and 7 young children. The bedroom situation is amazing for an extended family set up or for couples, as there are four kind bedrooms! We look for this in vacation rentals all the time and it’s very hard to find. It’s so nice for each family to have their own room. Plus, there are smaller bed options for the kids - a twin with a trundle and the smaller bed(s) in the upstairs room. Two of the downstairs king bedrooms share a bathroom, but it is nice and big and so charming. Three bathrooms total made the sharing a non-issue. This is truly a well-appointed rental, and you can tell that Debby puts much thought and care into the details of this charming home. Sometimes you can tell when properties are simply vacation rentals versus when the owner wants it to feel like a true home. In this case, it really feels like Debby has made her beloved home available to you. Additionally, she’s quick to respond and extremely hospitable. Check-in was a breeze and everything was extremely easy to find and the house was easy to navigate once we were there.
As far as location, we may be biased as locals who live in the same neighborhood, but you can’t beat the IYKYK vibes of this neighborhood. Right across the street, an amazing bakery/cafe/coffee shop. Around the corner, a cocktail bar with our favorite pizzas. And then just a short 10 minute walk east on Mistletoe and you are among the best restaurants, bars, and most fun places in San Antonio - both of Cullum’s spots (Attaboy and Attagirl), NOLA, Singh’s Vietnamese, Curry Boys, Little Death wine bar…you get the idea. If you want to experience the less touristy version of San Antonio while still being a hop away from downtown & Pearl - this is your spot!
