Ponca is less than 5 minutes away where you can access the Ponca Low Water bridge and the Buffalo River trail. Lost Valley trail, Hawksbill Crag, Centerpoint Trailhead, and Steele creek are only a short drive away. Wilderness Rider Buffalo and Adventure Park is just up the road and there is plenty of space to park your trucks and trailers! If you are looking to float or hike the Upper Buffalo River area, or just relax in the peaceful valley, you will not be disappointed at The Boxley House!

Excellent property in the valley

This is a beautiful bungalow with lots of amenities. We did not use the attic bedrooms due to the open stairwell which was a little scary for our senior group. Some blinds on the laundry room windows would be nice since there’s a pullout couch/bed there. The house was very clean and the beds and furniture were very comfortable. Everything we needed was right there. The grounds and views are also excellent.,

Perfect Stay

We’ve stayed near the Buffalo River for many years and have been to many homes and cabins in the area. While they’ve all been fine, this is one I’ll be returning to stay. I fell in love with the home and its history. In addition, the host was fantastic and so kind and responsive when I had questions related to the area and history.

Peaceful, Cozy Stay

We absolutely loved our stay at The Boxley House. We enjoyed sitting around a fire our first night, listening to coyotes and owls all around. We had big exploring plans our first morning in the valley and were so cozy that we decided to stay in. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, plenty of towels for bathing and everything was clean and tidy. We seen loads of elk in both directions from the house both early morning and evening. We can't wait to stay again.

Annual Anniversary trip!

The farmhouse was clean with plenty of room, friendly owner correspondence. We go every year to this area to view and take photos of the elk. This location was perfect for that! Quiet area.. We will definitely be back. Although it was just my husband and I, it would be plenty of room to bring the kids and grandkids

30th Anniversary

Our stay was perfect. The Boxley house was spotless, the area was quiet and relaxing. We saw turkey, elk, deer, and cows. The house is in a great location for exploring the area. We would highly recommend this rental, and would love to return.

Fathers Day get away.

The property was as advertised and we had no complaints. It was four adult males that stayed and we had plenty of room and the back deck was great. It is a little bit of a hike to the store which we didn't mind at all. It was completely secluded and a great place to relax and unwind, no cell phone service was a plus!

Clean and comfortable family getaway

Our family retreat was so great, we are so thankful to have spent it here. The cabin is clean and spacious. We enjoyed the fire pit and gas grill. Highly recommend.

Great location to use as home base!

We had a great time staying in the Boxley Valley farmhouse rental. The location couldn't be any better in regards to accessing the upper Buffalo wilderness. The house was just as advertised and met our needs perfectly. There was plenty of space, the house was clean and we enjoyed playing and relaxing in the outdoor spaces. We recommend this to anyone wanting to spend a few days exploring the valley.

Cool nights on the creek

We loved the “back in time” feel of the older but very functional home. A quiet and comfortable area. We went out both mornings to look for elk. We want to come back in the winter.

Memorable Visit

We enjoyed our stay at Betty's home in the most beautiful area of Arkansas. The personal touch made us feel like we were visiting family. Thank you for providing a place to reminisce and learn about our family history. My dad and uncles shared many memories of visiting Grandpa Hez and Grandma Minnie Mac Villines. It was an experience we will treasure forever.
