About this property

Steps away from Wild Basin:RMNP- 2-bdrm cabin perfect for adventure or relaxing!

With Winter wrapping up and spring/summer headed our way-The Hideaway is your perfect spot to stay for the remaining days of snow and the sunny days ahead to hit the trails hiking or the streams for fishing!
On a SNOWY day **snowshoes of all sizes PROVIDED with your winter stay** or the day with the most SUN we have easy access to Wild Basin in Rocky Mountain National Park!
On a day filled of sunshine and Rocky Mountain air, take off from the front door to the trails or Wild Basin, grab your fly fishing pole and head steps away to the St Vrain for fishing, hop in your car for a beautiful short drive up Hwy 7 to Estes Park or down Hwy 7 to Allenspark or Lyons, or...simply kick your feet up and enjoy the sunshine on the deck or a nap at the cabin. This Hideaway is perfect for adventure or relaxation---
This ALL SEASON cabin will be the perfect location for your relaxation or adventure (or work from home with a new location with WONDERFUL Wifi in the mountains)! How 'boutcha Hideaway at WILD BASIN is simply that: a hideaway from the hustle and bustle of life and a space to make memories with those most dear to you!

From the doorstep of the cabin, you can walk, hike, snow shoe, or sled right out into world class hiking that RMNP provides. At the foot of the trailheads of Longs Peak and Mount Meeker, as well as all of Wild Basin in the Rocky Mountain National Park. Hike difficulties range from easy with picnics along the St. Vrain river to difficult hikes up to 14000ft peaks of world class multi pitch rock climbs!

Our cabin hideaway is cozy for couples or families of any age range. We are a young family and will have items for babies, toddlers, and pre teens/ teens all located in the cabin so it's less for you to pack! The Hideaway will comfortably accommodate families of 2-4 people with all the amenities of home! Individuals traveling alone as well as couples will find the Hideaway to be their perfect location for a quiet memory making trip as well as an easy drive into Estes Park and ALL entrances to RMNP! The deck and large yard off the back door provide quiet solitude in the early mornings and evenings as you also listen to the St. Vrain river running close by!

The ground floor level hosts a beautiful galley kitchen with an open floor plan to the dining room and living room. Our kitchen will allow you to prepare any meal of choice as we have it fully stocked with all the utensils you may need! If you'd rather not cook, our table and bar provide perfect seats for your meal you bring in. Cozy up by the fire in the living room and enjoy a football game in the winter. The open floor plan is also ideal for multiples games which are also already at the cabin for your convenience. The bedroom on the main floor has a Queen bed as well as a Twin over Twin bunk bed with plenty of space. The closet in the bedroom houses the items you may need for your little traveler to make memories with new blocks, toys, sleds and books. The bathroom on the main floor has a double basin, large shower, and NEW heated tile floors to keep your toes warm! Upstairs you will find 1 more bedroom and another bathroom. The upstairs Master WALKS OUT onto a deck overlooking the yard! The closet in this room provides a pac n play, highchair, stroller etc. You will find ample space to sleep your young travelers with memories and bedtime stories galore! Or take a break as a couple as enjoy quiet moments together. The bathroom is smaller but very functional for upstairs guests. We have updated all bedding to keep a rustic but modern feel for our guests!

******SNOW: Remember if you're traveling in the winter, we are a mountain cabin. We DO have snow removal on our roads, but please plan your vehicle accordingly!******

Wild animals within a short walk or in the backyard include elk, moose, deer, raccoons squirrel, hummingbirds, and bear (Of course no guarantee, but keep your eyes ready! You never know what you might see!)

Activities such as mountain biking, fishing, horse back riding, and hiking are all right out of your front door step! Fish in the St. Vrain River, or one of the dozen post-card beautiful Alpine Lakes near by. Hire a fishing guide or take your family horse back riding right around the corner at the stables! After a beautiful day in the mountains you are a close 2min drive to Allenspark where you will find wonderful pizza or a mountain cafe, all food types in Estes Park just a short 15 minute drive up the road, or travel just a bit further for a fresh brew in Boulder or wonderful pizza in Nederland!

If you're coming for a wedding at Wild Basin Lodge, we would love to host your family and you can walk straight down to the event less than a quarter mile.

Remember: you are renting our CABIN, not a hotel room. A WHOLE HOUSE, in the mountains, that is an all-season escape!! We ask that you gather as many memories as possible and care for our home like your own. We highly respect our cleaning crew and will expect you to do the same. Any extra mess, laundry, on hassle for them will be directly charged to you!

The setting around our hideaway cabin is absolutely stunning in all seasons!

We named this cabin out of respect of a legacy left by our grandfather who used to call to our grandmother on the CB radio on a rural Nebraska farm, "How boutcha' Marie" as he would get her attention. You will find pictures in the hideaway respecting the legacies of our different sets of grandparents as we remind you: "How 'boutcha Hideaway!"

Showing off our state

We brought some Arkansas friends with us to show them the RMNP area and stayed at Emily's for a couple of days. It was a wonderful, clean, quiet place that gave us great access to the Park and the beautiful area. We really enjoyed our time there.

Little Cabin in the Woods

My wife and I, her brother and sister-in-law, and our dogs, spent 2 peaceful nights here in the woods. Real nice location, within walking distance to RMNP. Also, a short drive to other hiking trails outside the Park. In addition, a short drive to the small town of Allenspark, CO. where we visited The Old Gallery and attended a bluegrass concert inside the gallery one night. Overall we loved the place and the area and will return someday.

What a great place, perfect

This place was exactly what we were looking for - remote enough, yet close enough to everything. Close to RMNP for nice hikes. Directions were a little confusing but overall this place is exactly what is advertised. Host communications were impeccable, they are very interested in making sure their renters have a good experience.

Steps from hiking trails!

Walking distance from RMNP wild basin entrance! Surrounded by trees but still close to so much! A short drive to Estes and minutes from so many trails. The cabin was super clean and comfortable. Loved the hummingbirds hanging around the feeders on the deck. So appreciated the prestocked coffee waiting for those mornings on the deck! The kitchen is fully stocked with any appliance you may need to eat in. Definitely will be back!

We live by the golden rule in our house and in our Hideaway---"Do unto others as you'd like done unto yourself" We love to treat our guests with this same respect and hope you feel it before, during, and after your stay!
We are a young family who is all about providing memories to our children! The ability to acquire this vacation home and investment property is a blessing to us. We hope to provide you memories and blessings galore while you stay in the Hideaway!
Traveling as a couple and with our kids has provided us some of the best memories. We love to be active yet relax, talk about our day yet sit in each other's silence and presence and soak it in, and count our blessings often!
While we are from Nebraska and Kansas, we have always snuck away to the mountains as often as we can. While owning The Hideaway, we strive to get to the cabin each month to make sure it still feels like home to all who visit. We hope you love your stay and send others our way too!
Blessings from our family to yours!

Why they chose this property

We love the mountains, we love creating memories outdoors, we love walking down to the stream to fish, we love walking up the mountain among the moose, we love being together...WE LOVE THE LOCATION! There are very few permanent residents in our location yet the neighbors we do have are the best. Many times, we will visit and never see them and other times we have the best conversations. You'll feel excluded from the busy of Estes Park but can get into town as quick as you need to if you're craving a bit more to do!
Our location provides opportunity for all ages---family, couples, single folk, or grandparents looking to provide memories to their grandkids. We've been told more than once that our cabin feels more like home than any other place they've been. We are thankful people feel welcome in our Hideaway and hope to keep it that way!

What makes this property unique

Not only are you steps away from RMNP, you are blessing the hearts of many families in the adoption process. More info housed at the Hideaway and at the website: nortonccf.org/leapoffaithe or contact the owners here! You will feel a difference when you stay at The Hideaway...the deck, the mountain air and mountains surrounding you, the inside of the cabin and the short drive into Estes, the walk down to the river or inside to RMNP or Wild Basin Lodge...the Hideaway is the perfect---Hideaway!
