Place was just as described, beautiful and spacious! Absolutely loved the porch!! Was close to Raystown Lake and Trough Creek State Park. Lots of activities there. Had a wonderful weekend!
We really enjoyed our stay at your peaceful retreat. It was well appointed and perfect for our needs I would book it again if we need a roomy comfortable place in the future in the Raystown Lake area.
We absolutely love staying here!! This is our second summer visiting this cabin! Our kids enjoyed their time, a bonus this year was the game room!!! Contacting the owners was pleasant and prompt and they are such sweet people!!!
Pictures don’t do it justice! This cabin is perfectly spacious, centrally located, wonderful porch for tons of time outside even if it’s raining, has everything you’d possibly need AND meticulously clean. Highly recommend!
Peaceful location, huge outside deck, large bedrooms with plenty of space. Loved the fenced in area for our dog, much bigger than it looks! Used the fireplace and cozied up on a chilly Fall day. House is very clean and owners put attention to detail and want you to feel at home.
Only suggestion would be a bigger kitchen table for everyone to play board games together.
Thank you for great weekend!
We loved our long weekend here. The property was secluded yet easy to access. The house was gorgeous and clean. We all really enjoyed hanging out on the porch and relaxing. Thank you so much! We hope to make this a yearly tradition!
Only complaint we had was that the wifi did not work well, if at all. It forced us to unplug and relax (which was wonderful!).
Perfect retreat for my grown children & grandchildren. Wrap around porch with fenced area allowed freedom outside for little ones. A lovely week of togetherness 😊
My family and I cannot say enough about how great this property is. The location is excellent (it's a just short walk to the lake and drive to several marinas), the wrap-around porch is beautiful and has plenty of seating, and the interior of the house is nicely done with tons of room for large groups. Thank you!
Very nice property-well maintained. One recommendation would be to clean all the bird poop of off the porch railings before renting the unit. Overall inside very clean. This was our second year to stay there and would recommend it to others. Many thanks to the McSorley’s.
This house was great - the best VRBO I’ve stayed in to date. The house was beautiful and clean, looked well-maintained and nicely stocked. Plenty of room for everyone and the beds were comfy. Hands down, the best part was the covered wraparound porch - we spent almost all our time out there. Only a few minutes from Raystown Lake and many other fun activities, and honestly, not that far a drive from Altoona and even more things to do there! Only complaint is that the internet/cable and cell service are spotty and not reliable. It wasn’t a big deal - it allowed us to turn off for a week and enjoy each other’s company, but it was a small pain if we needed to book a boat online or buy tickets or check weather. Not a dealbreaker though. We’d definitely come back!
My entire immediate family was incredibly blessed to stay at this location. My husband passed away after a journey with cancer last year so I wanted to make a positive memory for them and succeeded with this listing. It was private but different activities were close by. The dogs even enjoyed their stay. The hosts gave us a memory of a lifetime.
We more than enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home!! It was way more than what we expected and my family wants to go again in the fall!! The house has everything you need and everything you use on a daily basis!! The owner was extraordinary on getting back to me with any questions we had or concerns!!!
We loved this property. The house was perfect for renting, very nicely laid out for groups, with the everything you might need. The owners were very thoughtful, and even provided NYE decor and glasses which we loved. We had a large group of adults, kids, and 2 dogs and had enough space inside and out for us all to be together and still have privacy. The bedrooms are well equipped and the beds were comfy — a nice surprise over some rentals or hotels.
We did have an issue with snow/ice and the driveway (unexpected all around because the temps were in the 40’s/50’s) and the owner Todd was responsive and very helpful in getting the driveway cleared of snow and ice quickly. Read the description of the driveway before booking — it is a sharp/steep incline, but as written it’s doable, just go slowly, there’s plenty of space to get up/down.
We would definitely stay at this property again - the kids and adults had fun exploring the woods around the house and it was very peaceful.
This is by far the best place we've stayed in. Absolutely beautiful, so clean and great location to the lake. I almost don't want to tell anyone how great this place is so it's available for our next trip.
Scott was a pleasure to deal with and always prompt to respond.
I highly recommend staying here. Everything was better than expected and the pictures don't do it any justice.
We have been enjoying our family vacations on Raystown Lake for the past 12 years. What a beautiful, peaceful, scenic area to relax in. This home was absolutely perfect for my family and pups! Everyone had a great bedroom. We spent most of our time on the lake or on the lovely wrap around deck. The Blackstone grill made it very easy to prepare great meals, from pancakes, eggs, burgers, steaks with lots of veggies. We brought our favorite board games so we were not bothered by the spotty WI-FI. I would absolutely love to return next year.
I wanted to take the Cousins on another trip this year, since they had a blast last year. We were all there on Saturday and they loved the place. It was especially dog friendly and we had 3 dogs with us. I would recommend this house to anyone that wanted to get away from the world and get back to nature.
