The Cottage at Chichester is six minutes from Phoenicia, just ten minutes to Hunter Mountain and twenty minutes from Woodstock. Nestled between two mountains, with a stream at the rear of the property, the cottage offers a serene wooded setting which is sure to delight. The beautiful new deck features built in hidden lighting, perfect for enchanted summer evenings.

The cottage is kept immaculately clean, nothing less will do for our guests. You'll enjoy the full tile bath with retro style sink, the heart wood floors, modern kitchen and skylights. The night sky is unimpeded by artificial light, the views are amazing!

Cozy house

My son and I enjoyed staying at the house while on a trip for ski racing at Belleayre. The house was clean and set up well. It seems like it would be very nice in the warm months. There is no cell service anywhere nearby or even down

Nice and Quiet

Very nice cottage that is well kept and clean. Easy 7 min to Phoenicia and 20 min to Belleayre. The manager is very attentive and responsive to messages and questions. Very nice heat for the winter. Good kitchen for a small family. Also had a nice time running the dog in the yard.

The cabin was great, really fun environment, host really kept the place nice and clean. I would definitely suggest watch horror late night with all the lights off. You will have a great experience if you enjoy a little spooky night. :)

Beauty, Peace, Serenity

A beautiful, peaceful location to enjoy nature, yet be close enough to restaurants and shopping for convenience. We had four days of quiet and serenity in the warm, cozy, "feels like home" cottage. Our Labrador retriever loved exploring the woods and creekside (and barking at the wild turkeys!) Host Paul was attentive and gracious.

This property is amazing and was exactly what I was looking for! We stayed two nights and upon arriving Paul greeted us and was very kind and helpful. The house was clean and everything was as described. We really enjoyed our stay and will come again.

Weekend get away

The cabin was clean and well appointed, well lit which we were grateful as we arrived at night. It was an easy drive to catskill, olana, Hudson and woodstock.

Comfortable cottage on good sized, wooded lot, attentive host

My family had a relaxing 8-day stay in the Cottage at Chichester, enjoying the outdoors and the fall foliage. The cottage is big enough so the four of us were comfortable. The kitchen/dinning area is small for 4, but we often used the deck right outside the kitchen and ate outside with views of the ridge behind through the trees. The grounds are good sized and extend into the woods.I enjoyed bird watching from the deck on the property. We used the picnic area in the woods with a fire pit. Fire wood was provided. The property extends to a creek in the back. The host was easy to reach, pleasant and attentive to our requests. The cottage is centrally located in the Catskills. Most hiking & biking trails and ski areas are less than a 30 minute drive. The only reason I did not give a 5-star review is that the cabin is not far from the road, so you can hear traffic and headlights shine into the big bedroom at night. Fortunately when we were staying in October, there was not much traffic mid-week.

Cozy Family Time

We were here during a very rainy week and missed hanging out on the beautiful deck canopied and surrounded by lush Forest. We did sit for a bit there as the trees were so thick that if the rain was light- we didn’t get wet. I was there with my two daughters in their twenties and we were happy as clams playing games, laughing and cooking together in this sweet cottage. The bedrooms are all nice and the master/primary bedroom was really nice for me. We would definitely come back!

time off getaway

Came up to the area for live music. I had my daughter meet me there for the weekend so we can have peaceful quality time together. We accomplished that with this stay. We found our way to the river and spend most of our time chilling and catching up there. Bring bug spray! The cottage was just enough for our needs. We would recommend this retreat to anyone looking to unplug and regroup. We ourselves would stay again for sure!

Very nice cottage & location

Paul has been renting this cottage for over a decade, which we saw from the little collection of notes in scrapbooks set nicely on a coffee table in the bedroom. It was seamless and a home away from home, with everything we needed that we couldn’t bring easily in a car. Thank you, Paul!

Great place to stay near Phoenicia and near the mountains

This is a great place to stay! It is just a short drive in one direction to Phoenicia and a short drive in the other direction to hiking around Kaaterskill Falls. You can hear the lovely sound of the Esopus Creek flowing nearby. The property manager is very nice.

Terrific stay in the Catskills

Stayed in the Cabin at Chichester for 2 nights and had a great time. We were unlucky with weather so we weren't able to fully utilize the property, however this made for a nice quiet stay in. Great and friendly communication with the propery owner Paul, who made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be coming back here again next time we need to get away!

Awesome place

This was a very nice place. We had a great time, everything was good. I would just say that the TVs in the rooms don’t really work or I didn’t know how to get them to work lol. Also, the water smells a bit like metal pipes. Other than that awesome place to stay at. Thanks Paul!

Quiet Weekend Away

Ski Belleayre

Since skiing was my main activity, it was important to be a convenient distance from the mountain. It was about 25 minutes, door to door. Although, I was initially looking for something a bit closer, it worked out just fine. Also, I did some exploration and discovered that the house is also a convenient distance from Hunter mountain...about the same. The house had a few quirks, but nothing that would prevent me from booking again. The owner was very responsive and respectful of my privacy. All in all, a great trip!
