Runaway Flip Flops is a charming two-story coastal townhouse that is perfect for a family getaway. Located in the picturesque small town of Tybee Island, GA.
Runaway Flip Flops is located on a private street with access to the beach thru the dunes.
The street is a group of townhouses. We are the 6th home from dunes entrance.
Just a short walk to the beach through private beach access pending on how fast you walk...3- 5mins to water’s edge where you can dip your toes in the ocean.

Unfortunately, absolutely NO Pets or Animals - Smoking or Vaping of any type are allowed in our Beach House or on property due to extreme allergies.

Spacious clean townhouse, steps from quiet beach

This place was amazing! We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Tybee Island. Very clean, has everything you need, townhouse, great screened in porch. Best thing is steps from beautiful quiet beach (your walkway is private to small number of residents). Great for relaxing and catching some waves!

Great place on Tybee Island

This was a great place to stay. Everything was well thought out. Well stocked and plenty of towels. Even had extra beach towels and beach toys and chairs. We would go back again.

Enjoyed my stay. I didnt like the walk thur the dunes to get to the beach but other than that everything was nice. Very clear instructions. Plenty of towels and amenities.

Awesome Tybee Island vacation!

Everything from the booking to check-in and check out was absolutely easy and convenient. Runaway Flip Flop’s is the best vacation spot, a short walk to the beach - they supply towels, chairs, umbrellas - all to make your stay a fun one and feel like a home away from home. The home is very clean with many places to sit and relax whether you want to watch TV or sit outside on the porch swing. Very responsive when needing any assistance or have questions, which helped make our stay even better. Thank you so much for opening your home up to others to enjoy Tybee Island beach!

Amazing family vacation

We have all good things to say. Everything was perfect. If you're looking for a quiet, cozy, clean location on the island, this would be perfect. The short, winding path to the beach is private. The screened in porch and exposed side of the deck was a nice touch, as well as the outside shower to rinse the sand off. Two and a half baths were great for the five of us. We were also very impressed with how quickly Cindy would get back to us with any questions. We would certainly stay here again.

Beautiful location to have a private beach experience!

The owners were very kind and thoughtful with their interactions with us. The home is a great space and perfect location for private beach experience! It’s close enough to north beach if you want more people to interact in, however having our own space with no one else around was so peaceful! Many thinks within walking distance to enjoy. Owners have lots of items for kids to enjoy. I hope we can come back to rent it again. From grandparents to children, it was a hit! Thank you for sharing your family escape with ours!!!

First vacation in a while

Runaway Flipflops provided the absolute best experience for us. Our kids loved that their room was close to ours and loved that we were only steps from the beach. We began and ended every day of our stay with a walk to the beach. We enjoyed the toys and all the equipment they had to offer for the perfect beach getaway. Walking distance from the marine center, lighthouse, and a few restaurants too. The owners were easily reachable if we needed them. We haven't had a vacation in a while but will be considered regulars to this area and house.

Best Ever Beach Getaway!

We were surprised and delighted by the looks, comfort, cleanliness, and location of this Tybee Island beach home. First of all, this really felt like a “home,” beautifully decorated, well cared for and well equipped. We found a big basket of beach towels waiting for us, along with a storage shed of boogie boards, umbrella, beach toys, etc. The bedrooms were beautiful, with comfortable beds and the bathrooms had a good supply of towels, with more stored by the washer/dryer. The location was great, near the northern part of the island, close to our favorite restaurant (Sundae Cafe) and ice cream shop (Sugar Shack). We loved the quiet neighborhood with a short walk to the quiet beach. All in all we had the most perfect beach vacation experience. My friend’s response was, “Let’s book this for the next five years!”

Beach was very close and not busy. Townhome had everything needed. Quiet neighborhood. The house has an odd layout with the master requiring you to walk through kids room.

Perfect location

We wanted to spend endless time at the beach. It has a path to the ocean that was perfect for that. It was quiet. And the beach location wasn't crowded like the beach by the pier and pavilion. Neighbors were nice. It lacked cookware. If you plan to cook during your stay, bring a decent skillet, spices, and a baking sheet. Also, there's only 1 trash bag for your entire stay and we had to use plastic bags for trash in the downstairs bathroom. Those are just little things I wish I had known before going. We were happy overall.

Great Place!

Our family had a great time. The location is perfect and just a short walk to almost a private beach. It is far enough away from the public beaches that you don't have much of a crowd. It was very relaxing. I like the covered parking and outdoor shower area. They have a wonderful beach cart that you can use that works really well for that short walk. It was pretty hot when we were there and the condo has a brand new AC, however, it had a little trouble keeping up during the day, but was able to catch up at night. I would def stay here again. Thank you.

A great location!

We LOVED the proximity of this property to the beach, and Cindy was a superb host who thought of everything. We have stayed in several VRBO properties, and this was the first to actually supply the guests with enough dish soap, trash bags, toilet paper, and paper towel to make it through a week which is such a respectful way to treat guests so they can, in turn, be respectful of the home as well. We loved all of the helpful notes that are in the home too. The home is spacious, has a well-stocked kitchen (we cooked a lot of meals), and has a bunch of beach towels and equipment to use. We so enjoyed the convenience of the beach buggy, so thank you for sharing that with us. As far as the location, it is really steps from the beach and o a really quiet stretch of beach. We never felt crowded on the beach at all. Likewise it appears the adjacent properties are being updated so they will also reflect the love and care with which Cindy clearly has treated her own townhome. We saw SO many dolphins from the beach, found shark teeth on the beach, visited Ft. Pulaski (be sure to go when they fire the cannons), did a dolphin tour, toured the lighthouse, and visited Savannah. So much to do while also being able to spend some time at the beach every day. The screened in porch was nice when it rained as well. Thank you Cindy for the opportunity to stay!

what a lovely time we had here! the home was so clean and pretty, fresh and bright and so very comfortable! kitchen was well equipped as we were able to eat in every night. the access to the shore was an easy walk of two dunes and gave us a beach that was practically private! we all recovered from great family fun in the sun in our spacious quiet bedrooms. it was terrific to be able to do laundry...we had everything that we needed to have a wonderful vacationcindy really did take care of us, a perfect host.would be great to stay again!

Town house near beach

Great townhouse near beach. The house had everything you needed to have a home away from home. The steps were too much for anyone to carry luggage—very uncomfortable. This house was the best one on the street. The others were junky and unkept—torn screens, unkept yards etc. The walk to the beach was ok. There is a trail. It would have been nice to view the beach. The beach was pretty private so that was nice. I was overall happy but felt it was a little overpriced due to junky neighborhood and not being able to see the beach.

Our friends and family have stayed in our beach house and continue to love visiting Tybee. Runaway Flip Flops property has external security camera located on front main deck overlooking front door, front stairwell and driveway. Security camera is for the safety of our owners and guests.

This footage is not shared publicly and is recorded for liability reasons in case of break-in, death, injury, guest sneaking in pets, guest disregarding the maximum occupancy allowed, and in no way infringes upon guests' expectations of privacy in these public areas of property.

Any attempt at disabling or obscuring the cameras is prohibited and may result in the guest being evicted without refund. The full deposit is forfeited if any of the above are found. You will be asked to leave the property immediately with no money returned.
