We had a wonderful experience staying at this home during our visit to Chico. The house was spacious and comfortable, perfect for our family with teens. Its location just outside the downtown area made it convenient for touring the university. The neighborhood was quiet and full of charming. The host was friendly, responsive, and very helpful throughout our stay. We’d absolutely consider staying here again on any future trips.
We ended up being less than .2 miles from my cousin without even knowing until we checked in! Clean, spacious, nice outside area! Would definitely stay again!
The house was overall nice and a good fit for our needs, except for one significant issue. There is a cottage in the back of the house where other people were staying. Nowhere in the listing was there a mention of a second rental property on the same lot and a shared backyard space. We were shocked to find people coming into “our” backyard when we were out there with our dogs. Fortunately, our dogs are friendly, but it could have been a dangerous situation for many reasons (including the people in the cottage leaving the side gate open). Plus, we paid for a private space, not a shared one. The second person who stayed in the back also had a dog who was not especially friendly, and we had to be careful not to be out there at the same time. The hosts really need to change the listing for this property to disclose the shared space to future people. Also, there was a bunch of junk in the backyard, mostly around the side of a broken-down shed, and a hole in the back gate that made the yard unsafe, especially for small dogs like ours. If they provided pictures of the yard or informed people of what the yard looks like/its condition, people would know they have to monitor their dogs closely and make more informed decisions. The house and neighborhood were cute and the living room was quite comfortable. The bed was very hard and the kitchen was sparse (very few dishes, few necessities like foil that make a kitchen usable when traveling), but the host was very responsive.
We absolutely loved our stay at this adorable home! The layout was perfect, with the master bedroom separated from the other two rooms, giving us extra privacy. There was plenty of space for our family to relax, and the charming neighborhood made it even better. Being close to downtown Chico was a huge bonus—we could explore the area easily. Highly recommend this gem!
The check in process was very easy. Communication was exceptional with very fast responses. House was cool with the AC and fans. Clean, comfortable beds and linens. Quiet neighborhood. Would stay here again
Minimal kitchen. Just enough of some items for one meal. We had 5.
No hand soap in one bath room. Just lots of small rhings that previous rentals have included.
No hair dryer that we found.. No information about what owner wanted when we left. Maybe you have a lot of theft in Chico.
The house was clean and having a bedroom with on suite located at the other side of house from other two bedrooms was good if privacy is something one interested in having. The neighborhood was quite and felt safe. Downtown was a nice walking distance too. I recommend The Rooster Cafe if you’re looking for variety and good tasting food.
We enjoyed our stay at this property. The home is centrally located and easy to find. The house is large, kitchen is nice and the bedrooms are very comfortable. We will return!
Great little house in Chico we stayed at with another couple for Parent's Weekend. The reservation and check-in process with the owner was easy and seamless. Good value for the $$. Plenty of room for 2-3 couples, clean, the kitchen had what we needed, good water pressure in the shower. The beds could have been more comfortable, but okay for 2 nights. I'd also suggest to the owner that the backyard be a bit more accomodating with a place to sit, maybe a fire pit, etc. Lots of potential back there! Also, in our 50yr old opinion, downtown and the campus was too far of a walk, so we drove each time (Ubers were impossible to find for whatver reason). Would rent again. Thank you for a pleasant stay!
