About this property

Eclectic Cabin On 20 Acres Near Red River Gorge

We are a 20 Acre old tobacco farm with a private gorge located 15 minutes from the North entrance of Red River Gorge. We are only 1.5 miles from Sheltowee trace and 20 minutes from Cloudsplitter, Indian Staircase, and Jump Rock! Come relax and get away from it all in this 2,000 sq ft creekside home. The barn in the backyard is the entry way to the trail that leads you down to the creek and waterfall or through the forest and up to the top of the hill where you will find over an acre of clearing perfect for bonfires and stargazing. This modern cabin has a large eat in kitchen for 10 and is fully stocked with all your pots and pans as well as plenty of plates and utensils to spare. The two main bedrooms each have a queen bed and a sofa sleeper perfect for kiddos. The middle bedroom is great for kids with a couch, a smart TV, Wi-Fi, and bunk beds with a third pull out bunk on the bottom! The living room has a full size pull out couch for additional sleeping area. There are 3 decks and a large patio at the back with a 8 Adirondack chairs, a fire pit and a grill. There is a play set for kids directly out back plus an outdoor dining table for dining al fresco! If you are looking for more camp vibes or want extra people to join your group check us out on Hipcamp! occasionally there may be folks camping up on the hilltop. You might see them if you venture to the hilltop camping area or on the trail. They are instructed not to be in your private area from the barn to the house. Feel free to explore all 20 acres! Want to rent the entire property out including the house, vintage camper and camp sites? Talk to us about your groups needs! We have outdoor security cameras for added safety.
Just like in the gorge there are dangerous drop offs on our property. we have done our best to mark them but not all are marked. Children must be supervised at all times. Its a beautiful property and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do! All photos were taken right here on our property. Please note, we participate in NO MOW MAY This helps preserve crucial pollinator habitats. We will start mowing again when the wild flowers die back around the first week in June. EXTRA GUEST FEE: this platform breaks down the extra guest fee at check out. While our cabin sleeps up to 10 people, it will cost more for a booking of 10 then a booking for 2. This helps cover cleaning, linens, and utilities for larger groups.

Wonderful for Nature Lovers

Cool little place with fun decor. Wonderful nature all around, with lots of outdoor spaces to explore. We saw salamanders, skinks, frogs and toads, many butterflies, and tons of wildflowers. The friendly outdoor cat was a welcome surprise. Great place for a digital detox, with only one TV and no video games.

Red River Gorge Visit

This is an older home that is rather dated but has the necessities. We found the furniture and beds to be comfortable. The kitchen was large with plenty of seating for our 6 family members. If you want sharp knife in the kitchen you need to bring your own. Wi-Fi worked well. The home is right off a main road so is easy to access. However, it was a bit of a drive to most of the Red River Gorge attractions and included going through the one-way Nada Tunnel which was a novelty the fist time through but a bit of a hassle after that. The owners were very responsive to a couple of concerns that we had. I would recommend this home if you don't mind driving back and forth to get to the gorge.

Cute whimsical house

The house was quirky and fun and grew on you the longer you were there. Such a nice place to stay. The hostess was helpful with advise of places to go to and restaurants to eat at. The house was clean. They also had night lights, plenty of toilet paper and paper towels where you could easily find. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots, and pans. Everything was well labeled. The property was fun to check out. Gorgeous views. Very dog friendly. I would stay at it again next time we are up that way.

Great house near Red River Gorge attractions

The house was very clean and well-stocked with everything we needed. We were 5 adults and 3 kids so we used all sleeping areas. Kids’s area must be walked through to get to bathrooms and one of the bedrooms in the back. Location was good with many beautiful hiking trails in the Gorge within a 30-min drive.

It was a great place to stay! It was clean, and spacious. It does only have 1 television, so if you like to have one in the bedroom or have kids you want to entertain with television as well as yourself then you arent able to. Overall it was a great place to stay and the host was amazing!

Adventurous Daughter’s surprise birthday

Relaxing and enjoyable. The property had plenty of hiking adventures for my daughter, the experienced hiker and me (mom), the novice. There is Wi-Fi which the teens were thankful for. The washer and dryer were an added bonus to this wonder experience. We look forward to another trip here next year.

Roomy House with Great Kitchen for Cooking Thanksgiving MealI

I appreciated that the house was close to a major road near a town that had a grocery store. The house was nicely furnished and the rooms were large, could have slept more people that we had. We were near the Red River Gorge, which was where my son had been rock climbing for several weeks. The owner thought of everything, with laundry detergent for the washer and dryer, even Christmas lights and decor. Almost missed the large back bedroom, which was off the large bathroom at the end of the house, and had to walk through the bathroom to find. It was nice and private though. The beds were comfortable, and there were toys for my 1 1/2 year old grandson to play with, as well as games for the adults. I was able to prepare a large Thanksgiving meal, and came prepared with all kinds of kitchen equipment, most of which I could have left at home because of the superbly furnished kitchen. We had a wonderful time. Thanks, Rose!

Amazing Property

We loved our stay. Walking the trails of the property alone were worthwhile. Within walking distance you have so much to see and explore. Inside was all about the details. Good kleenexes, comfy blankets, candles, etc. made our stay personable & comfortable. Huge deck beautifully lit and decorated allowed us to enjoy the outdoors too. Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.

A special place, in a special place!

We loved our time here. The home in spacious, the property is beautiful, and the owner is lovely. The big kitchen was great for cooking with family an friends and the back deck and fire ring were great outdoor hang spaces. The interior décor is eclectic which creates a whimsical, fun vibe. We enjoyed hiking the trails and hanging out by the cool rock outcrop with a small waterfall and stream. The location is a hour from some trail heads, 30 min from others. That's just a challenge of the area however, nothing is really close by given the geology and limited roads, basically, the reason you visit the gorge. :)

Why they chose this property

We love how diverse this property is in its terrain. It has the flat open hilltop field perfect for stargazing and bonfires. Its a big enough area for free spirits to run wild and large groups to camp. The forest area and trail are magical and enchanting and FULL of incredible plants, fungi, and wild life. The creek and water fall that lead into the gorge are an incredible feature to add to the beauty of the property. We hope you enjoy it just as much as we do!
