Perfect group housing
We had an amazing stay at Timber Home! The photos don't do the place justice -- it was very clean and fit all of our group (10 people) perfectly. We had dinners on the porch and really appreciated the various supplies (baking dishes/cooking utensils) that ensured we had everything we needed for cooking/baking. The yard was a great spot for a picnic and we saw the northern lights our first night. Additionally, the location was perfect for accessing Duluth but allowing us some privacy. Would stay here again!

Relaxing Family Gathering
The Timber Home was wonderful! Communication with the host was easy and response was prompt. The host even suggested a couple of sites in the area that we enjoyed checking out. The accommodations were great! Very clean and comfortable! Plenty of room for our family in a beautiful setting! Would highly recommend and hope to return sometime.

Fall Getaway
Had a fantastic weekend at Timber Home! It easily fit our group of 11 with extra room. Plenty of bed space and seats at the tables. The place was cozy but never felt cramped. So helpful to have a bathroom on all floors. We didn't end up using the firepit--but greatly appreciated the wood left behind for us to use! The property was beautiful and breathtaking as you pull up . The wagon was so helpful to transport supplies from parking area to the house. Initially we were a little worried about this process, but it is really not a long distance we barely noticed! Loren was very responsive and made check in and check out simple. Would highly recommend!

Together time
Perfect north shore feel! Nice space to visit...amazing deck! Was very well stocked for anything we could need and more. Beds were so comfortable. The motion lights on the stable concrete walk/steps to the house were very nice. That walk gave the place an even more secluded private feel.

A very roomy & comfortable VRBO. Tucked away in the woods, it is very private, yet still close to many sites to see in Duluth & up the North Shore. I would definitely stay here again.

In the middle of Nature
A wonderful time was had by our extended family of 12. The kitchen was awesome for our collection of chefs. Everything you could think of was there, including an amazing coffee bar. Our favorite place to dine was at the long tables on the huge porch with a Blackstone grill at the ready! The house is convenient to activites in Duluth as well as up the North Shore. Our favorite lake was Island lake. A mere 20 minutes inland. Thank you!!!

A wonderful weekend in the woods
Our group stayed at the house for just a weekend, but we all wished it had been longer! We had a group of 11 and the house slept us all comfortably. There was plenty of room for event to sit and chat, have meals, and enjoy the peaceful privacy of the property. The host, Loren, was very responsive and helpful throughout the rental process, even providing an extra wagon to help get everything up to the house. We would absolutely recommend renting this house!

Amazing north shore getaway!
This property was Amazing. It accommodated our entire group with plenty of space. Every single thing we needed for cooking was at our disposal and very well organized. I have absolutely no gripes about anything! The owner lives close by and was an incredible host. We go on family vacations every year and pick a cabin. We've never experienced the hospitality and attention to detail we had from this wonderful owner. I would recommend this spot to anyone! Thank you

Excellent Family Home
The house was wonderful. We spent a lot of time on the covered porch. We also enjoyed the ping pong table. The kitchen was well stocked. The little kids enjoyed throwing stones off of the bridge into the creek! We would highly recommend. Maybe add on the listing that there is an available port a crib.

Wonderful property!
We really enjoyed all the space and the covered outside seating area was amazing. Private outdoor setting with the noise of the creeks running water through the property was very soothing. A rainy day didn't even interrupt our time we had to spend with one another.

Fun and Relaxing Girls Weekend
We stayed in this property for a short weekend and we just loved it. The home was spacious. There were 5 bedrooms with another bed, futon and roll-away bed available in the master, a single bed under the stairs, and even a couch if you need it. The kitchen is stocked, there are are games available inside and outside for fun. The living room was cozy with the wood burning fireplace. There are more light switches in this place than we had ever seen before! It was almost like a scavenger hunt trying to figure out how to work all of the lights. Haha! The 2 story deck was amazing and just perfect for sitting outside listening to the stream in front of the house. We came away with 2 recommendations. Bring a cart or a portable wagon to help haul your things to the house. You will need to carry all of your stuff over a bridge and up a hill to the cabin. It was quite the workout for these old ladies! It might be helpful to stash a wagon or 2 in the large brown locker in the parking area for guests to use. Also, we spent a lot of time imaging the history of the build of this house. The original cabin walls are easily identifiable. It would be really cool if you had photos of the history of the original to how it became what it is today. Maybe a photo book or something. We also enjoyed reading the guest book entries from all of the other wonderful trips that had been mad to this house. Thank you so much and we cannot wait to go back!

Amazing, cozy cabin
We had the perfect little getaway and the property was beyond amazing. Loren was extremely responsive and great to communicate with. You can really tell he takes pride in the property and his guests. We were also extremely impressed by the amount of kid amenities that were provided (baby gates were an amazing addition provided by the family!) and the fun toys for them. Looking forward to staying here in the future!

We have enjoyed the journey of transforming an authentic log cabin & crafting a creative 4 bedroom, 3 bath timber home. We have used natural wood, timbers, stone, and tile together to create a 'natural living environment'.

Why they chose this property

We built it with a vision of bringing together a warm environment. Situated in a tranquil & natural setting surrounded by trees, seasonal stream, with lots of natural products used in the building process- stone, tile, hand crafted plaster and reclaimed fir timbers.

What makes this property unique

The large open and covered deck area has 2+ picnic tables and some chairs for outside dining, propane grill, and a beautiful view of the natural environment! Enjoy the peaceful setting of nature, seasonal meandering stream around the property, lots of nature, and only a few skips away from the North Shores of Lake Superior.
