It was a perfect place for out 10 person family so stay to celebrate a birthday. The home and ground are stunning. I would recommend the home to everyone! Thank you!!!
We truly enjoyed our stay at the North Shore Timber Lodge. Our only regret is that it wasn't longer! There were plenty of bedrooms for everyone, and we were able to cook a delicious Christmas dinner. We would love to come back and take advantage of the beautiful porch, which feels like an additional living area. We liked that we weren't in the middle of Duluth but could reach downtown in just 10 minutes. If you are looking for a unique property, this one will be sure to wow you!
The entire stay was a dream and the cabin was so amazing and more beautiful than we expected. The cleanliness was top notch and we appreciated all of the extra linens available. When we arrived all the lights were turned on making it feel like we were arriving at home. The host was really communicative and made extra sure everything was perfect.
We had a fantastic weekend at the home for our Christmas celebration. The property accommodated our 15 family members and three was everything we needed on site! Thank you!
This is such a beautiful property! The log home is so pretty and cozy. Very well appointed kitchen, and this is from cooks/foodies. We brought a lot of our own cookware/implements, but wouldn't have needed them at all! Impressive. The bathrooms where very nice (do you love deep clawfoot tubs?) this is the place for you! The outdoor space was amazing with tons of seating space and very nice griddle top grill. We stayed right before Xmas and would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the outdoor porch! Definitely would stay again. Highly recommend! Oh, and the host went out of his way to mail us something we left behind which was extremely appreciated!
Spent the weekend there with 8 friends and had a great stay! The property is clean and cozy. We loved how close we could still go downtown Duluth for the day and return back to comfort. Will be back!
We had an amazing stay at Timber Home! The photos don't do the place justice -- it was very clean and fit all of our group (10 people) perfectly. We had dinners on the porch and really appreciated the various supplies (baking dishes/cooking utensils) that ensured we had everything we needed for cooking/baking. The yard was a great spot for a picnic and we saw the northern lights our first night. Additionally, the location was perfect for accessing Duluth but allowing us some privacy. Would stay here again!
The Timber Home was wonderful! Communication with the host was easy and response was prompt. The host even suggested a couple of sites in the area that we enjoyed checking out.
The accommodations were great! Very clean and comfortable! Plenty of room for our family in a beautiful setting!
Would highly recommend and hope to return sometime.
Had a fantastic weekend at Timber Home! It easily fit our group of 11 with extra room. Plenty of bed space and seats at the tables. The place was cozy but never felt cramped. So helpful to have a bathroom on all floors. We didn't end up using the firepit--but greatly appreciated the wood left behind for us to use!
The property was beautiful and breathtaking as you pull up . The wagon was so helpful to transport supplies from parking area to the house. Initially we were a little worried about this process, but it is really not a long distance we barely noticed!
Loren was very responsive and made check in and check out simple.
Would highly recommend!
Perfect north shore feel! Nice space to visit...amazing deck! Was very well stocked for anything we could need and more. Beds were so comfortable. The motion lights on the stable concrete walk/steps to the house were very nice. That walk gave the place an even more secluded private feel.
A very roomy & comfortable VRBO. Tucked away in the woods, it is very private, yet still close to many sites to see in Duluth & up the North Shore. I would definitely stay here again.
Amazing perfict for our small wedding family stay. Had room for all of us, great kittchen and love love love the deck, spent most of our time there relaxing. Would go back and have family get togethers! Nice and quiet to in the woods!
We loved Timber Home and will return! The tranquility and beauty of the home and surroundings is breathtaking!!! Wish we would have booked longer. Communication was great and the book provided helped with our stay
A wonderful time was had by our extended family of 12. The kitchen was awesome for our collection of chefs. Everything you could think of was there, including an amazing coffee bar. Our favorite place to dine was at the long tables on the huge porch with a Blackstone grill at the ready!
The house is convenient to activites in Duluth as well as up the North Shore. Our favorite lake was Island lake. A mere 20 minutes inland.
Thank you!!!

About the host

We have enjoyed the journey of transforming an authentic log cabin & crafting a creative 4 bedroom, 3 bath timber home. We have used natural wood, timbers, stone, and tile together to create a 'natural living environment'.
Why they chose this property
We built it with a vision of bringing together a warm environment. Situated in a tranquil & natural setting surrounded by trees, seasonal stream, with lots of natural products used in the building process- stone, tile, hand crafted plaster and reclaimed fir timbers.
What makes this property unique
The large open and covered deck area has 2+ picnic tables and some chairs for outside dining, propane grill, and a beautiful view of the natural environment! Enjoy the peaceful setting of nature, seasonal meandering stream around the property, lots of nature, and only a few skips away from the North Shores of Lake Superior.
