About this property

Unique Stay on a Working Bison and Yak Ranch

Welcome to Pine Mountain Ranch, a 40 acre bison and yak ranch located just 6 miles east of Bend. This one bedroom one bathroom modern apartment is a quick 5 minute drive to restaurants and amenities. You will pass Costco or Whole Foods and then it's a 5 minute drive to the ranch.

Upon arrival there's a dedicated parking space. The double French doors have a digital lock eliminating the worry of carrying a key. Once inside there is a great room with a kitchenette, island with seating, a dining table and chairs and a living room. There is a bedroom with a king size bed, desk, chair, nightstands with lamps an armoire plus double closets with drawers. Large stone fireplace, skylights and numerous windows for a cozy feel. In the summers enjoy the sound of the creek that runs alongside of the apartment.

The bedroom has room darkening shades, double closets and a ceiling fan. Down the hall you will find an newly updated bathroom with dual vanities, a walk in shower and a washer and dryer.

There's a nicely appointed kitchenette with a full size fridge, wine cooler, sink, toaster oven, induction cooker, microwave and coffee maker. Dishes, silverware and glassware are provided.

After settling in stroll down the road and view a herd of bison and yaks, some cows, and if you're observant - ospreys, golden eagles, bald eagles, owls and coyotes.

Cool off in the pond with the ducks or wade in the creek that runs alongside the road.

Home on the ranch.
Perfect spot to experience all the Central Oregon has to offer. Hosts Alan and Loretta were wonderful. Making the reservation and check in was so easy. It was cool to see the Buffalo and yacks just a short walk out to the pasture. Unit was spotless and had all the nice touches to make our stay so enjoyable. Easy access to downtown Bend . We would recommend this place to anyone wanting to be in the country yet minutes to town.

New Years Getaway - Success
The owner was very responsive to any questions we had. It's true that the house is just a quick 15 minute drive from downtown Bend, which is perfect. Close enough to be near shops and restaurants in minutes if you like, but also VERY quiet being away from town. It's great being able to see Bison right out your window. Great views of the mountains in the distance from the property. Wood stove and portable heaters keep things plenty warm, and Alan was more than helpful about providing ample firewood. The property is actually part of a larger home, but given the entrance and window placement, you'd never really know that anyone else is there. Make sure to bring some ground coffee, but the coffee maker works great. Plenty of fridge space, and all in all very cozy. Would be fun to come back during the spring/summer and enjoy the patio area. Bed and bedding are VERY comfortable, and the remodeled bathroom is fantastic (heated floors!), although it would be helpful to have a couple of quick hooks added for towels/robes. Would definitely recommend.
