Beautiful Views at an Affordable Price
My husband and I just spent the weekend at this lake front cottage and overall the experience was amazing. We loved the lake front property, the fact that we could use the boats and canoes at our leisure, and the beautiful views that the property afforded. As far as lake front cottages this was very affordable even with all the added amenities. Our girls and we had an unforgettable vacation and last hurrah for summer roasting marshmallows, jumping off the dock and paddling around the bay in the row boat. My only critique is that I would have liked to be checked in by either of the property owner instead of their friend, and the fact that the wifi hardly worked. But we would definitely come again next summer! The swans and the egrits were beautiful! Thank you!

Review of Cottage 1 in Brighton, Ontario Property ID: 2372019
To begin, the pictures of the cottage and surrounding area posted on the Vrbo website are extremely deceiving and paint a better picture of what is there. The cottages are located on a residential street so there is no place to walk in nature. There are five cottages in total which are extremely close together with barely any room to walk between them. As such, there is no privacy at all, and you need to hope your neighbours are quiet and respectful. The steps to the entrance of our cottage were bent inwards and pose a climbing hazard. There was also a significant gap between the deck and the inside of the cottage, also posing a hazard for anyone with mobility issues. Grass and weeds were growing in and around the deck. The screen door was ancient, filthy with cobwebs and bugs, and did not close properly. The inside door was missing a glass panel and covered with duct tape. The outside of the cottage was also filthy and full of bugs and cobwebs. The main part of the inside cottage was full of spiders big and small. The Wi-Fi in the cottage was inconsistent and unreliable. We had a family emergency during our stay and were forced to sit outside in the boiling heat trying to access the internet. The furniture in the cottage looked like it was bought at a garage sale. Although the website lists a stove and oven, there was no stove or oven in our cottage. Two electrical outlets did not work, one light fixture did not work, and a doorknob was damaged. There was no air conditioning so if your stay occurs during a heat wave, the air in the cottage is oppressive and next to impossible to sleep. The canoe was damaged and in need of repair. The firepit was also damaged and needing repair. There was garbage, cigarette butts, and old, rusted equipment on the property. The “Muskoka” chairs are not true Muskoka chairs but plastic chairs, one of which was damaged and in need of repair. In sum, the cottage and surrounding area are run down, dilapidated, and shoddy. The photos and information on the website are misleading. Our experience was incredibly disappointing. The value of the rental is nowhere near the amount we paid.

Quite spot of the lake
Cute little cabin on the lake. With bathroom and running water. My daughter loved the kayak experience and the little playground on the side would definitely stay here again.

Good lake access
The cottage was exactly as advertised - right in front of Lake Ontario. My son and I enjoyed fishing off the dock and canoeing.
