Lovely house!
Our family had a lovely stay at Herrick House. The views are exceptional at the house, and we very much enjoyed being near and on the water for our two week stay. The house itself is comfortable and very nicely decorated. Tons of hot water, a special bug repellant device, and whole house water filtration were all excellent contributions to our experience. A few things to mention that we wished we'd known about in advance are the proximity to a busy road, the fact that the location is on a mud flat so only accessible for water activities during high tide, and the closeness of the large house where the owner lives just beside the rental house. We had a wonderful time and were able to accommodate all those things, but would have loved to be more aware of them in advance. Victoria is a lovely host, she was responsive and proactive about all our needs, and we would definitely recommend this rental to others hoping to stay in Brooklin!

Wonderfully house
It was a a rainy week with sadly very little outdoor time but the house was a comfortable refuge with a great kitchen, fun playroom in the basement, great tvs and overall a fun family time. Be aware that it was hard to access the water with the kayaks we rented but the weather also kept us on land. We highly recommend this house. ard to access the water with the kayaks we rented.

Terrific Brooklin Home
This is a beautiful home on a very private piece of waterfront property. The local manager is exceptional and responds to questions very quickly. We cooked our evening meals in and this kitchen had everything you would need. They also had spices and other kitchen basics which we appreciate. We were only 2 couples and the home was very comfortable providing spaces to sit to read, play games, or just enjoy the beautiful views. The furnishings are high quality and the homes decorating is 5 star. We grilled out a few evenings and the weber grill and outdoor seating is wonderful. We rented the entire home so each couple had a wonderful master suite. Having the Penthouse as an option is nice because you can pick what works best for your group. There is a very nice hiking path about 1 1/2 miles from the home. We really enjoyed our visit and this home.

Lovely Maine coastal home with incredible bayside views
We stayed at the Brooklin Inn for the second straight year in a row. We have absolutely loved staying in such a thoughtfully decorated home with stunning views. Waking up to having breakfast on the patio with the water views is memorable and we plan to stay again next year. This year we had another couple stay with us and utilized the basement to play ping pong and darts for good time fun! Lastly, the kitchen screams to be cooked in. We cooked most nights in this time to take advantage of the kitchen, including a proper lobster boil! Would recommend this home to anyone looking to disconnect into the natural beauty of Maine while also having access to lovely restaurants and fresh food nearby!

2022 Maine Vacation
Pro’s: 1. The house was gorgeous including the views. The sunsets were very relaxing to watch. 2. It was on a quiet and peaceful street 3. There was plenty of activities, board games and streaming services! Con’s 1. The rugs in the bathroom and living room were dirty and dusty because it’s not really a rug you can vacuum. 2. The kids room had a wobbly bed but that would be an easy fix. The mattresses in the kids room were very hard, we didn’t have any kids but an adult that stayed in that room. 3. There was no AC in the crows nest 4. Some of the cooking utensils should be replaced that previous guests melted but they were doable. The frying pans needed to be replaced because some of the nonstick had peeled off and isn’t safe for use. Overall we had an awesome stay and enjoyed our vacation.

Spectacular
This is an incredible home. My only hesitation on giving it every star available was when I was asked if the property was accurately reflected by VRBO- no, this property exceeded our expectations. The owner has incredible design skills and this house reflects them. She picked an unbelievable site with a spectacular view and artfully designed around the peaceful water views. This property is ideal for more than one family if you include the penthouse in your stay. I began looking for our next opportunity to rent this gorgeous home on the first day we arrived. Gratefully, Stephanie G.

Elegant & Comfortable
Brooklin House is beautiful and elegant, yet comfortable and homey. There were so many nice touches – the basement with a game table and an enormous collection of games, ping pong table, and TV room. We loved the well-equipped kitchen, the grill, and the fire-pit. A herb garden beside the grill added delightful touches to more elaborate meals. The weather and furniture was perfect for eating outside. Being there for a full 2 weeks really gave us a chance to enjoy the property and take short trips to several nearby towns and enjoy activities in Bar Harbor while having a space that was peaceful and relaxing. It was close to Acadia National Park, Fort Knox, lobster bakes, mini golf, and a variety of tours on boats and carriages. We set up the badminton net and played volleyball or badminton every day. We made use of the huge yard and enjoyed the beautiful landscaping. We played in the water, swam, and paddle-boarding was a hit. We loved the animals with the deers running across the backyard in the early morning, otters, woodchucks, porcupines, a chipmunk who lives on the back patio, and a myriad of birds. The large glass windows allowed both a relaxing view from the living room, kitchen, and several bedrooms, and a covered porch let us sit outside with binoculars and study each animal. Animals were peaceful and entertaining, but wandered away whenever we approached. The owner and caretaker were responsive and delightful to work with. We will return!

With Brooklin House, every care and attention has been paid to the details
of this home. The talented crew of craftsmen who helped create this
exceptional property gave it their all in 2020 and 2021 despite the
challenges of Covid-19. As the world begins to open up again as we yearn to
travel, explore, gather together and be one with nature, we believe
Brooklin House offers the opportunity to celebrate and cherish this
revival.

It is my pleasure to welcome you to share in this magical property and I
would be honored for you to come and create your own experiences at
Brooklin House

Why they chose this property

Water settings have been one of my greatest loves and design influences
for decades – they soothe my soul. Oceans and bays, lakes and rivers
particularly, are the places I’m drawn to most and where I find I’m most
at home in my work. I have developed an aesthetic that is described by
many as: “Crisp, clean lines with a fresh color palette - where luxurious
modern meets whimsical coastal.”

Walking out to the point and
standing inside the home looking out at the breathtaking views of Herrick
Bay, was a sensory overload that literally made my heart sing and my
creative juices flow. I knew this was where I wanted to be to create my
next destination vacation home.

What makes this property unique

World-renowned for its wooden boat building, maritime history and
exquisite natural beauty, Brooklin became one of the areas I visited over and
over again in search of my next project. Brooklin is home to the Wooden Boat School, the Eggemoggin Reach annual regatta and many boat building businesses. Even the Wooden Boat Magazine is published from here and you don't have to be an accomplished sailor or a boating enthusiast just to enjoy watching people simply "Messing about in boats" and they're everywhere in these parts!

Brooklin House on Herrick Bay is a stunning property in a setting that will literally take your breath away. It is close enough to places such as Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, Camden, Castine, Stonington, Ellsworth, Penobscot Bay, Belfast and even Portland, that draw crowds of holiday-makers year after year. The unique benefits that Brooklin has, compared to many other destinations on the north east coast of Maine, it's easy to get around and you can breathe and completely unwind here! You don't find yourself caught up in endless lines or traffic, day after day, yet you're within easy reach of all that may attract you to this area and its natural bounty.

Brooklin House has been lovingly restored and modernized for your comfort
and relaxation. Attention has been paid to luxury and the details at this property. As the world begins to open up again and we yearn to travel, explore and be at one with nature and those we love again, we believe Brooklin House presents an outstanding opportunity and venue to celebrate from.
