Come stay at Bear Cove Hideaway on Brassua Lake! Close to Rockwood, Greenville, Squaw Mountain and Mt. Kineo. Come hiking, biking, fishing, boating and other outdoor activities. The cabin has close access to ATV and snowmobile trails, the Appalachian Trail and golf courses. The house was built in 2017 and sleeps 6 comfortably. Enjoy your lake access or relax by the fire pit in all seasons!

A fabulous gem

The cabin on Brassua is our favorite place! The cabin is clean and has everything you need for a relaxing week in paradise! The upgraded wifi was a big improvement. Meredith is responsive and super helpful. The lake is beautiful, quiet and perfect for swimming and kayaking. Highly recommend!!

Another wonderful stay on Brassua Lake

Incredibly peaceful cabin right on the lake with solitude to match. This was our second 4 day stay and plan to book again. The owners are very responsive and make the booking process easy. Thank you and see you next year!

Great Getaway!

Comfortable cabin with all of the essentials on a gorgeous property! We really enjoyed getting away from it all here. We would have liked to control the thermostat but owner controlled it remotely.

We've returned to this beautiful cabin on Brassua for a number of years. It's a great property with everything we need for a wonderful family vacation enjoying the natural beauty of Maine. Quiet, remote, and very comfortable. Great owners that make the rental process seamless.

Fabulous vacation spot

The modern log cabin on Brassua Lake is a perfect, relaxing, quiet vacation spot. The outdoor activities in the region are second to none and the lake is a perfect spot for kayaking, canoeing and swimming. Meredith is super responsive, easy to contact, and a great host. The cabin is well-stocked with essentails, clean, comfortable, with lots of space for our family. We can't wait for next summer!!

Beautiful home in a beautiful location!

This is a beautiful home and a beautiful location. Everything was clean and comfortable. Little extras make the difference such as easy water access; kayaks, and a canoe available for use; a great fire pit with wood available and a nice charcoal grill on the beautiful deck overlooking the lake. We have vacationed in the Moosehead area for years, and this home was truly one of our favorites. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is it. We hated to leave.

Friends 2023 vacation

We are a group of six friends that go on a 1 week vacation every year, we like wooded lake front private cabin. This was perfect, serene, great layout, beautiful views, sunsets, sun rises, wildlife, evening fires, kayaking, bicycling and motorcycle riding, and nice amenities. Would not hesitate to rent it again. Thank you Meredith and Aaron.

(almost) perfect getaway

We traveled in a group of five (2 adults, three teenagers) and spent a week at the cabin. It is large, newish and rustic, with a bear motif running through the decor, very close to the lake, and well-maintained and equipped. Instructions were clear and reasonable, and we enjoyed the kayaks provided by the owners. There is a neighboring cabin (surprisingly) close by, and on two days, the renters were playing loud music, which really detracted from our sense of peace and quiet. On contacting the owners of our cabin, they were responsive but unable to help. Also, the person sleeping in the loft bed upstairs either has to go through the upstairs bedroom to use the bathroom, or climb down two flights of stairs to the basement - which might not be easy for everyone in the middle of the night. Overall, it´s a great place for people looking for a "cabin on the lake" experience, and we would recommend it.

Family Yearly Gathering

We enjoyed this home very much. The home is tucked away from any major roads yet close enough to restaurants 10 minutes max to the Birches Resort and 15 minutes to the local country store. I recommend you print out the information before hand. My cell didn't work and I needed wifi to access my emails for the very detail owners instructions and to gain entry. Wifi worked great by the way. They provided games and we really used the canoes and kayaks a lot. We had young children and the beach area was adequate for them. I would rent this home again. We arrived on a friday and needed a fire on Sunday because of the rainy chilly weather. By Tuesday we were dying as temps were in the 90's....Lake temp was perfect! Our Vacation was perfect! The location was Perfect!

A very relaxing getaway in a beautiful area! We loved using the fire pit nightly. No luck finding any moose but we enjoyed our time together!

Return trip to Brassua lake

This was our 2nd time staying here, loved it again! Great cabin, beautiful lake and views, very peaceful. The kayaks were an excellent addition, the kids enjoyed them almost every day. Took the short ferry to Mt. Kineo and hiked the Bridle trail. It was well worth the effort to climb to the top and get that 360 degree view. Communication with Meredith was easy and fast. All in all, another wonderful, relaxing week on the lake. Thank you!

Comfortable house in secluded area

We spent a week at Meredith’s home; it is large, clean and comfortable. The Internet is not sufficient for more than light browsing, though I did not clarify this with the host in advance and she was very sympathetic and offered suggestions to help. I also understand they are closely monitoring options to upgrade.

The most peaceful vacation

We LOVE this great cabin on Brassua. It was everything we need and is clean and well maintained. We love to hike and kayak, but would be perfectly happy never leaving the house for the week! Meredith is great and very responsive. We'll be back!

Another great stay

We had stayed at the cabin in 2021 with previous owners. We had such a great time we sought out the same place only to learn it had been sold. Not a problem! The new owners were fantastic. Fast communicators, easy to work with and the place was in great shape when we arrived. We were there to snowmobile and the cabin is situated on a lake with surrounding trails. Another excellent trip with college friends. Highly recommend!

Annual Ice Fishing Trip

Great Place to stay, Fishing was slow and weather was cold and windy so we enjoyed the camp. Fire place was great, Camp was clean and plenty of space for all of us. Owner was very responsive to all emails and questions. Would highly recommend this beautiful camp.

Stunning rustic/contemporary log home

Beautifully designed home in 2017 has all the things you are looking for in a rental. We are regular's to Moosehead region so didn't mind the more remote location; just have to plan for it; still nearby the Birches resort for a nice dinner out. Lovely location, we were there in the fall and lake is a dammed lake so no waterfront access/ limited water view. Owner's are absolutely wonderful. Only thing that could have made it any better is a hot tub!

Wonderful, off the beaten path retreat

We spent a wonderful week in this delightful log cabin, ideally located on the shore of Brassua Lake and not far from Moosehead Lake. We were there during the peak of foliage and were treated to spectacular views. Sunrise on the lake is exceptional and the sundown on the nearby lakes are simply out of this world. The cabin has all amenities that one could desire and is in a very quiet place. The hosts were highly responsive, super friendly, and ready to help us enjoy our stay. We can highly recommend this remote cabin that takes you out of the path of tourists. The cabin is about 45 minutes away from any related town activities (shopping, food, restaurants) but we loved it precisely for this reason. The cabin is extremely well designed and tastefully decorated. Thus, it is also a great pleasure just to hang out and recuperate from your hikes. We strongly recommend this place for vacation and these hosts. Just keep a week in October free for us!
