Our cabin looks rustic from the outside but it has comfort and charm on the inside. We used new lumber for the framing but clad it with antique reclaimed lumber that we harvested from old barns and houses in the area and dry stacked stone. Our Cabin and subsequent cabins will be named to honor the farms/families the lumber came from. We have paid particular attention to craftsmanship and attention to details inside and out.
Our cabin has air conditioning and heat and is graced by 2 wood burning fireplaces, one in the interior living space and the other on the spacious outdoor porch overlooking our pasture and mountains. Inside the wood walls and ceilings are finished with milk paint, antique wood floors and reclaimed lumber from the first house built on Justice Ridge Rd.
Our Dad dismantled that house when he was in his late 80's so we have incorporated many of its parts into this cabin. We have recycled all the way to the roof with antique tin covering the porches, but using new shakes on the main roof.
This inviting retreat is roomy yet intimate and is fully appointed with a well-equipped morning kitchen, a jacuzzi tub and oversized shower and inviting furnishings inspired by the undisturbed mountain setting.
We know you will enjoy the cues we have taken from the past as inspiration for Asheville Cabins at The Farm.
