We were a group of adults 25-78 and all had a great stay. The sunsets were incredible and star gazing at its best.James was an incredible host! I received information timely with complete instructions. Our stay was effortless! Our family is very appreciative of our time together in Kona!!!
This place was the perfect location to get away and relax. Nestled up on the hills (but still only a few minutes from town) our family enjoyed beautiful sunsets and took every opportunity to get in the hot tub in the evening. The property was spacious and the inside of the house very easily fit our group of 9 with young children. The kitchen was fully stocked with items for our cooking pleasure including everything from a blender to a rice cooker. They even had beach items for us to use such as umbrellas, pool noodles, beach chairs, cooler and a boogie board. Ceiling fans were in every room, but due to being on the hill the house cooled off nicely in the evening. The host was also extremely responsive when we needed anything and the house included lots of extra things such as toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo etc. so that was one less thing to worry about. Overall it was a fantastic place to stay and we hope to come back again someday!!!!! Mahalo for a wonderful vacation!!!
Great home base for our family to unwind after a day adventure on the big island. The grill was handy, as well as the hot tub. Great view.
It a few minutes from town, and yet very private.
Beautiful property up in the breezy hills. Very responsive and helpful property manager. Very comfortable home for us… 6 adults and 3 children (one a 22 month old).
Worked very well for three generations. Lots to keep young ones happy. Relaxing space for older generation. Plenty of beaches and other activities nearby. More information about infant sleep accommodations would have been helpful. Glad there a Play-n-pac
This property came as advertised and was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. Clean and well stocked. Great location . Communicating with James the property manager was easy and he responded to a couple of minor issues and resolved very quickly.
We loved our holiday in Kona. It was my father’s first time outside of Canada. It was a dream come true to travel with both parents, both my brothers, my sister-in-law and my husband.
Although the property is not right in the town of Kona, and is up in the hills, we became accustomed to the cooler climate and actually preferred it for sleeping and reprieve at the end of the day. The property itself is absolutely stunning. Avocado trees, banana trees, papaya trees.
I would say, the only negative would be the last bedroom. iIn the description indicates a double bed. It’s actually the bottom of a bunkbed, so I don’t know if it’s truly a double bed. My brother, who is just shy of 6 feet tall couldn’t lie straight in it. It also did not offer any kind of, nightstand or dresser for clothing. The closet was quite full with kids items and toys. I would say the bedroom is better suited for an actual bunkbed.
Our host was excellent. Anytime we were cried anything more. He was quick to respond and cook to bring those items. The location is very safe in the view overlooking the ocean and the hill is amazing.
Easy check in - very personable host that catered to any needs - everything needed to accommodate our families needs - beautiful view and cooler temperatures due to the higher elevation- would stay here again without hesitation!
We had a fantastic time in Hawaii. James was the perfect host. He showed us around the property to make sure we knew where everything was and how things worked. The house was the perfect size for our family of 6 (5 adults and 1 child).
We had our morning coffee on patio every morning and most evenings we ate outside too.
We had everything we needed to go to the beach(towels, chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, buggies boards and coolers). We may not have used everything but is was awesome that it was there.
The temperature was always cooler at the house and we even got a little rain which didn’t bother us since we are from Washington State.
It is was very nice to hear the birds in the morning and the frogs at night.
Overall a perfect family vacation and we would love to come back. We feel in love with Kona.
Mahalo
What a lovely home! The location and privacy was perfect for our stay in Hawaii. We were close to Kona and yet felt like we were removed from the crowds. The single level living and beautiful deck was perfect for our parents. James was a excellent host and we appreciated having all the beach towels and chairs plus a well stocked kitchen to cook in. Everyone had a wonderful time!
Our family of 6 stayed at this beautiful property for 10 glorious days in Feb 2022. As soon as we drove through the private gates we felt we picked a winner. It's like a secluded oasis and was just what we needed especially after the past two years. We just totally relaxed and enjoyed this house. The wrap around deck is enormous with lots of seating options. Eating meals outside with that view was unbelievable. It has everything you need as a home base. Things are well thought out in the organized kitchen including a few spices, salt and pepper, sugar and basics like cooking spray, food wrap etc. There are two sizes of coolers to carry lunch to the beach.
Beds are comfy, clean and feel new, everyone slept great. Towels were fluffy and white. Bathrooms are clean and functional.
We used the beach supplies almost everyday. Large beach towels, boogie boards and chairs came in very handy. There's even aftersun cream/aloevera gel available in the bathroom cupboard.
The hottub was hot and clean. Each afternoon we retold our adventures of the day with a dip in the hottub and then had happy hour on the deck. We watched movies, played boards games and listened to music. This house was big enough for our group including 3 teens, two adults and one senior to spread out. We hiked, swam and explored almost every corner of the island putting more than 1000miles on our rental vehicle and coming home to this property was special every day.
Mahalo from this Canadian family!
We were a party of 4 adults and this home met all of our expectations. James was an awesome host with great communication before our visit and a warm, in-person greeting when we arrived. The house itself was a great base for our adventures, providing a beautiful deck for happy hour and meals. The morning and evening sunset views were breathtaking!
One unexpected benefit--the house sits at about 2,000 feet elevation, providing a 5-10 degree cool-off from the beach. In February, we needed a light sweater in the mornings, but the evenings were perfect!
My family of 4 really enjoyed our stay here! The house was clean and had all of the amenities needed for a week-long stay. We enjoyed eating our meals out on the large deck and spending a lot of time in the hot tub. The stargazing at night was amazing - we could see the milky way so clearly and several shooting stars! We loved the wildlife that came to visit the property, including the coqui frogs that sang lullabies to us each night. The property was safe and secure and parking was easy. The views from the house of Kailua-Kona and sunsets over the ocean were incredible. The nights were cool enough to not miss AC at all. We would absolutely stay at this property again!
Very nice property with beautiful view and cool night time temperatures. Well equipped kitchen made for easy cooking. Location was great for easy access to Kailua-Kona but away from the crowds.
Beautiful home and stunning sunset views. The amenities were excellent with everything needed to meet the needs of my 3 chef sons in the kitchen to planning a lazy day at the beach. Would love to come back again.
