Tucked into a setting of evergreens, mosses, and ferns, this cabin in Rhododendron reveals the beauty of Mt. Hood in every season. Spend the summer outside on the deck, grilling, lounging, and swapping stories beneath the trees, and the winter curled up by the wood stove as the snow piles up outside.

This single-level home invites you in with plush carpeting, lofty ceilings of natural wood, and large windows that frame the deck and the surrounding forest. The living room, warmed by the wood stove, has a flatscreen TV and a sofa where you can put your feet up after a day of hiking, biking, fishing, or skiing. Just around the corner in the kitchen, you'll find stainless steel appliances (including double ovens and a dishwasher), a peninsula breakfast bar for three, and an adjacent dining space with a circular table for four.

Come summertime, you can open the glass doors to the deck, get the gas grill going for an afternoon barbecue, and find a seat in the shade of the trees. Additional amenities include free WiFi, so you can easily look up a new trail or keep your eye on the snow report. Within the Timberline Rim community, you'll enjoy access to a shared swimming pool, tennis courts, playgrounds, and a trail system on the Sandy River.

Perfect space for a family of 4. Kitchen was well appointed. Loved the fenced back yard for our dogs. Close to Mt. Hood with plenty of hiking and other outdoor activities within minutes.

Relaxing getaway
A great close to Portland getaway spot! We enjoyed the cabin's cozy spaces, walked the neighborhood with our dog, and found the river trail for sunny riverside walks. The fenced backyard was a pleasant surprise for our pup!

Just As Advertised
Place was pretty much just as advertised. Many of the reviews seem to have nailed it so read those to know what to expect. Nice storage for multiple bikes in the shed out back. Basic furnishings and nice deck. Nice neighborhood and a neat little community pool. We had a nice, enjoyable three night stay. Could use a couple more fans for the bedrooms to move air around a bit more; mini split does a good job of taking the edge off in the living room/kitchen area.

Cleaning issue
The cabine is nicely designed in the shared area. The bedrooms look a bit sad. The main thing is we found dog hair on one of the beds. Luckily there were plenty of clean sheets and towels, we just changed them. The carpet is also stained and not in great shape. The rest of the cabine looked clean.

Cabin with potential
First- the key code only unlocked the deadbolt but not the door knob. No key or code to get the door knob unlocked. Had to drive 10 minutes away to get service to call vrbo. Apparently there was another key in a lock box for the door knob- but that wasn’t in the check in instructions. After calks, waiting, trying-etc. Eventually we gor in. Thank goodness we did because the “ help” that vacasa sent didn’t arrive until later. Then- couldn’t get the heater in the living room to work. Couldn’t get the fan and light to work in the living-room. Couldn’t stream to the tv- no guest mode on roku tv. . Bathroom was nice. Bed was comfortable. Furniture in livingroom and bedroom is very low. If you have any mobility or knee issues getting up can be challenging. Bedroom has no pictures on the wall. Multiple scuffs, stains on the walls. Curtains are sheer and let in more light then they keep out. House has a ton of potential- just needs more love and care. Vacasa needs to get their act together regarding locks, how to get things operational in their rentals. They guy they sent was able to get the heat on but not the issues with the fan or tv.

Beautiful, functional, peaceful
The home was beautiful and clean. I loved the wood ceilings and the large windows. The furniture was comfortable, the layout functional and spacious, and the kitchen well stocked. We loved the deck/patio and just sitting outside under the trees listening to birds. I did a trail run on Mt. Hood and we visited the Wildwood recreation area nearby. We also had great takeout from nearby restaurants. It was a lovely experience and we’ll definitely be back.

Mt Hood running weekend
This haus offered our family of four and pup a lot of space to spread out and enjoy for our two nights on the mountain. The kitchen was fully equipped and the only extra I’d bring next time would be a silicone spatula since it’s my preferred tool for cooking eggs. The weather was not so warm that we had to crank the mini split cooling unit in the living room but could see how essential more fans could be to cool the bedrooms if it were in the upper 80’s or more. Inside was well styled and clean but be sure to bring your USB charging blocks because the outlets are standard (unlike many places that have USB dedicated outlets). WiFi worked well for us and cell service inside the home was spotty on Verizon towers but worked in the driveway. Having the fenced in dog area was definitely handy. The property and bedrooms backing up the the main road weren’t loud enough to wake us at night and we slept quite comfortably. Glad I had my sleeping mask since the bedroom curtains allowed in plenty of happy light. We’d love to stay here again and for longer next time so we can use the BBQ, enjoy the deck, and check out the community pool. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Beautiful Sandy River
Three adults stayed at this lovely little home. It had everything we needed. We really appreciated the quality of all the kitchen supplies. We even used the grill. The beds were quite comfortable. The only down side for me was the communication with VACASA as a management company. Our first night I received THREE text messages after 11pm from them. When I did need to ask a question regarding the property I would receive messages from what seemed like several people and it was obvious that they were not taking the time to read my response.

Lupine haus
I really liked the privacy and the stream running past the cabin The bed was a bit uncomfortable. I think the problem is in the frame not the mattress. There is a board down the middle that kept rolling me to one side or the other. A good piece of plywood under the mattress would be a cheap fix. All the furniture was really low and it made it really hard for my 66 yr old knees to get up. I was there for my daughters wedding in Sandy and was doing all the food prep there. The lighting was not the best. A light above the bar would have been nice. In spite of this, I would rent this house again.

The Price is Right!
Super clean, comfortable, and cozy cabin near mountain fun and restaurants. Wish there was a fire pit and maybe a little more secluded, but nothing else to complain about. VERY comfortable beds/linens/towels/pillows. Fully stocked kitchen. Games, trail maps, nice big deck. We ate at Wraptitude both nights. Super great food and friendly staff. We had a great time and will be back! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Nice cozy cabin in small community
We stayed for a couple of nights at Lupine Haus with a toddler and preschooler (during the recent heat wave) and had a great time. It's a simple space, but the access to the community pool is a real selling point if you have little ones! You use the provided key fob to access the pool, which is a few blocks away and has lots of toys (pool noodles, diving/floating toys) plus lifejackets on site. There's also a small swing set plus a tennis and a basketball court, so lots of regular outside activity. While you can see the Sandy river from the tennis court area, there's no access to it. There are small trails throughout the community that weave between houses on narrow paths, so it's possible there is river access that we just didn't discover elsewhere in the neighborhood. The house was clean and felt roomy despite its small size; plenty of dishes and all the usual basics. In cooler weather the front porch is spacious and shaded - great for relaxing outside! Others mentioned road noise; the back of the house is set just off a local main road, but with windows closed plus white noise/fans running, we weren't bothered by it at all. Beds were comfy and that helped with sleeping well. There is not central air, but there is a mini-split unit in the living room; if you stay here when it's at all hot outside, bring a couple of fans to keep airflow moving into the bedrooms at the back. We stayed comfortable on the 95 degree days and 70+ degree nights this way, but without the fans would have been hot. Our kids definitely want to go back; between the community pool and proximity to family-friendly hiking at Wildwood, this is a good choice for a low-key getaway close to Portland.

Great place, great beds, kinda dirty.
The house was a perfect little weekend cabin for summer or winter. (Although the lighting was quite dark, might want to think about new bulbs for winter). We loved the beds the most- they were incredibly comfortable and the sheets were great. When I arrived though, the garbage and recycling cans (inside of the house) were completely full, and the dining table was covered in a sticky substance, with lots of crumbs. Throughout the weekend, when I was cooking in the kitchen, I pulled out multiple dirty dishes from the cabinets. It was gross. It made me feel not great about preparing food there. I pulled out bowls that had dirty water sitting in them, stacked. The waffle maker was gnarly and sitting in a puddle of grease. It was strange because the bathroom and bedrooms had obviously been cleaned, but the kitchen was a mess. Not a great feeling to know that your rental wasn't cleaned well during a pandemic.... Aside from the mess, the house was nice. We really enjoyed the deck, and like I said, the beds. However, the road noise is very loud and the bedroom windows point straight to the road. It was very hot when we closed the window, so I would recommend providing a fan.

Cozy and Rustic
Very comfortable beds! The provided WiFi password was incorrect, but we were able to figure it out. I do wish there were instructions on how to access the community pool - my kids were looking forward to swimming, but we didn't know where the pool was/how to get in, etc. Fair amount of road noise - a ceiling fan or similar would be beneficial in the master bedroom.

Excellent home for a Mt. Hood vacation
1. Cozy, rustic home close to all Mt. Hood National Forest activities. 2. Perfect for our family of 4, the children loved the bunk beds. 3. Well furnished, the appliances are in great condition and so are the kitchen utensils. 4. Plenty of bath towels. 5. Remarkably high speed and reliable Internet connection! 6. Cell service (Verizon Wireless) is spotty. Need to walk to the street for a good connection.

Cute little house in a wooded family fun community
This property is adorable with its woodsy cabin feel and mid century modern decor and furnishings! Clean inside and out, fresh, crisp linens and towels... the comforters on all 3 beds were heavenly! Bathroom was immaculate and updated. My 2 kids (3&10) and I had so much fun for the last 2 nights! It took us 3 minutes to ride our bikes to the community park of Timberline Rim and even less time to walk approximately 7 houses down and around corner to the community swimming pool where we swam 3 times over 2 days- so fun! Everyone there was so friendly. We played games that the house provided on the beautiful deck and I even just sat in a chair and relaxed- enjoyed the moment. I would suggest a propane fire pit for the deck- that would have made it perfect!! The deck is so big and sitting around the fire would be a huge compliment for the house. Other perks for our family - a few miles drive to the right takes you to a few family restaurants like ZigZag Inn where we went and ate. Totally kid friendly and also great drinks *wink*—Theres a mini mart store with everything you could think of to the left a few miles which was great due to forgetting a few things. The one thing I could say that might be a negative for SOME is the road noise behind the house. It’s not a super busy road, but everyone (semi trucks) seem to drive really fast and the back of the house is just off the road. I could mainly just hear it when I was in bed which is located in the back of house. I didn’t really notice it when we were on deck or in the living room/kitchen. Just pointing it out- wasn’t an issue for me at all! The house had all amenities that we needed to cook meals. Coffee maker confused me, that might be just me thou! LOL. A heads up...the WiFi password was wrong that Vacasa gave us in our check in email and it was different and again wrong in the Vacasa pamphlet on the table. No worries thou, I was smart and looked at router :-) All in all, we had such a great little getaway, and lots of memories made at Lupine Haus! Hands down we would love to stay again. Five stars for sure!
