This was our second time staying here! It is a great house, plenty of room and close to Okemo. We needed to arrive a day early due to an incoming snow storm and our host was very accomodating. Our host also answered any questions quickly before and during.
Our vacation at Okemo was excellent. The house was exactly what we hoped - room for the parents and kids, pool table and hot tub with a beautiful view of the river. It was a short drive to the mountain. Our host checked in on us to be sure we were settled and was great providing details as we got close to our vacation.
Beautiful house overlooking the river. Perfect for our multi-generational group of families. Very clean and the host responded immediately to all communication. Kitchen and living room were a tight fit for 12 people, but well equipped. Downstairs game room and hot tub were the icing on the cake. Easy drive to Okemo. Would definitely stay again!
We had a great time staying in this home. Check in and check out was easy. We were very close to the mountain and both the bedrooms and living room was spaciaous enough for all of us. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Long weekend with three families, all with young kids. The house was plenty spacious enough for all, and had everything we needed for a wonderful time. The pool table and downstairs TV room were a hit with the kids!
This was a terrific place to stay! The house is unique, cozy, and clean. The pool table in the basement is of great quality (important to people who love pool). The river in the back yard was calming and scenic to watch from the balcony or while at the fire pit. Also, the property is within walking distance of a gas station/ general store, only a short drive from the highway, and 20mins from a Walmart. Very convenient. The hostess was also very kind and communicative. We had great experience and highly recommend this house for a great vacation.
The location was convenient, and the sound of the river was amazing. The homeowner was kind and professional. A great place to stay to check out southern/central VT.
Wow! What an incredible week we had during our stay at this fantastic home. From the moment we booked, Stacey was responsive and had extensive recommendations for our family coming together to stay at the house for a family wedding in Hanover (about a 35 minute drive).
Our family had plenty of space to spread out and had the ability to work remotely while enjoying our time in Vermont and New Hampshire. The house is situated on a river and we loved heading down to the water to sit on the rocks overlooking the covered bridge as the water flowed by. Having water shoes for the rocks that get slippery was a great tip that Stacey gave us.
The house had everything we needed to make family meals and we loved the option of sitting on the porch to eat overlooking the river or at the dining room table in the open kitchen and living room area.
We were able to take advantage of several hikes and trail runs at trails within a few minute drive of the house. We visited during August and the weather was perfect to eat outside and enjoy the location and a few days during our visit the fans and AC unit were essential.
The youngest members of our family loved the bunk bed room and having their own seating area and big screen TV in the basement. They also loved the large capacity washer with a glass top and spent time sitting on chairs looking into the washer as it spun the laundry (unplanned entertainment!)
There’s a convenience store within walking distance of the house that had supplies that we’d forgotten to pick up at a grocery store.
Thank you to Stacey and family for hosting our family for a memorable, relaxing get away together.
Our multigenerational family greatly enjoyed our stay at this property. Stacey was available anytime and very easy to communicate with. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. We especially enjoyed the deck with the beautiful view of the river, the fire pit, and wading in the river itself. I would recommend bringing water shoes because the rocks are slippery. There was plenty to do around the area as well. Thank you, Stacey!
Beautiful home and perfect for our equestrian vacation. Lovely location with the river in the backyard. Hot tub was so nice after a day of horseback riding and competing. We were able to cook wonderful meals and enjoy them on the spacious deck. Mudroom perfect for tack and boots! Loved our stay and would highly recommend. Any issues we had were immediately taken care of by owner.
The River House setting is tranquil and gorgeous, and the house is spacious with absolutely everything you need. Stacey was gracious and answered our questions quickly.
Kept on the traditon of spending Memorial Day Weekend with old friends from college and their husbands/wives- tried Vermont for the first time and this place was everything we needed & then some. Enough space for everyone to be comfortable, pool table & hot tub got used daily and access to the stream was perfect. We were able to get to a local watering hole maybe 10 minutes away for something fun outside the house. This place was great!
Great rental for a ski trip to Okemo Mountain Resort! 6 bedrooms (1 upstairs, 3 main floor, 2 basement) and 3 bathrooms (one on each floor). Grill on the deck made cooking for a large group easy, pool table downstairs, and the hot tub after a day on the mountain was a great end to the day.
The house has plenty of parking, and is an easy 20min drive from the mountain.
The hosts were very accommodating and communicative as needed. Effortless process overall. I would stay here again next season.
Great spot for skiing at Okemo! About a 20 minute trek to the mountain. House was perfect for the 12 guests. Basement family room was a perfect spot for the kids to have their own space.
We had a wonderful stay at this property last weekend. We were up with our family and another family (4 adults and 4 children). We had plenty of space for everyone and even bedrooms we didn’t use. The hot tub, pool table and bunk room were all wonderful to have. Property was clean and well stocked, and beautiful location by the river and covered bridge just up the way. It was about 15-20 mins to Okemo. Wonderful stay and would love to return again!
Our small group stayed at this property while in the area for the Vermont 50 race. It was just what we needed as a race weekend home base: clean, well-equipped, plenty of space for everyone to get a good night’s sleep, and relaxing - the hot tub, fire pit, and peaceful sound of the river in the back yard were the icing on the cake!
We had a BLAST. No need to ever leave the property.
We had a group of 13 with over half 8-10 years old. It was comfortable for sleeping, easy to cook in both the kitchen and grill area, plenty of bathrooms.
The outdoor space was hands down the best. A firepit overlooking Black River and a covered bridge! The kids (in PFDs) and adults rock hopped up river and floated back down over and over. We roasted hot dogs on an open fire for lunch...played tag and in general adventured.
Our host was so kind and helped. Thank you!
The house is very well kept and clean inside and out. Plenty of rooms, beds and space for our group of 13 to sleep and hang out comfortably. The host was pleasant and helpful the whole time. The kids had a great time exploring the river on the property although it had a strong current for some of the younger ones. My friends and I had a wonderful time and would definitely stay there again!!!
