Review for 10/20
Wife and decided to take a last-minute trip on the weekend of 10/20-10/22. Noted the home was not available and contacted the host. Cammie was very accommodating and allowed us the stay the weekend. We did some hiking and fishing near the home and also on the middle fork up near Kennedy Meadows. As expected we had a nice time and appreciated staying there. Suggestion, there is a dvd and VCR player so bring a movie with you. There are dvd and vcr movies there but most are children's movies. Thank you Cammie.

Strawberry Cabin
Spent a weekend at the Strawberry Cabin. We were hiking and fishing farther up 108. It was a nice place to come back to and unwind and relax. There was a storm that came through and the power shut off for the night in the entire neighborhood so just in case bring some flashlights or battery lantern. Even with the power off we used the gas bbq to cook our breakfast and heat water for coffee in the morning. We will definitely consider returning again. Host Cammie was very good with all communications.

poor deal
Many issues; poorly maintained; living room lighting so dim that reading is not possible. Dark walls and only 5 low wattage lamps 2 of which did not function (Broken stem switch on one. Deck useless in summer after 10am; no shade. Ad suggests near river; not so at all. Obvious there is no cleaning service between guests even though a fee is assessed.

Cute little Strawberry House
Cute little Strawberry House. The pros: Great location, walk in distance to the Stanislaus River, Strawberry market and inn. 5 min drive to Dodge Ridge and Pine Crest Lake. It covers all your basic needs. Kitchen is well equipped for cooking if you bring your own groceries. The cons: No Internet and poor phone reception, so you will not be able to work remotely from the house if you need to. You can use Internet at the Strawberry Market or the Strawberry Inn. You need to bring your bed sheets and towels and take your own garbage with you.

Perfect Cabin and Location
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, however, the interior mechanisms of the gas bbq were rotted out. Luckily we had our portable gas bbq on us we were able to grill on. Otherwise, it was a nice place, adequate to our needs. We enjoyed watching the VHS tapes with our grandkids. Very homey and sweet cabin.

Great Stay
My Wife & I had a great extended weekend getaway! We made several day-trips to Pinecrest, Dardenelle, Brightman Flats, & Clark's Fork. We hiked, fished, ate, napped, & soaked-up all of the fresh air & beautiful scenery that we could. Cammie is a great Host, very responsive & considerate. We will definitely return!

This was our second tune in Cammie’s cabin. Our trip was cut short by wildfire smoke, but Cammie couldn’t have been nicer to deal with. The cabin is really comfortable and so close to the river We’ll be back.

Great Vacation Spot
Enjoyed a few days at the cabin with our family. Dated, but fits the rustic cabin in the woods vibe. Good communication with the property manager. Cabin has essentials and was comfortable after spending the day hiking, fishing, and lounging at Pincrest Lake.

Nice location, cosy cabin.
Stayed with our family for 6 days. We enjoyed it in general. Here is a quick summary of +/-. + Nice location. Great for going for morning walks, walking along the river. There are hiking trails at walking distance. Only 10 mins drive to Dodge Ridge Ski Resort + The cabin was in acceptable cleanness. We found a few socks here and there from the previous people but it was OK in general. + Check-in and check-out was easy. + Nicely equipped kitchen with variety of spices, teas, etc. + A good stock of paper towels, toilette papers, etc in the cabin. - No internet, no phone reception. There is fiber in the area but the cabin does not have wifi. There is a restaurant nearby that lets you use their internet if you pay a small fee. - There were only 4 pillows in the property and they were not in great condition. I'd bring my own pillows. - There is thrash service in the area (on Mondays) but maybe the owners opted out. So, you will be asked by the owner to take care of your thrash without any guidance on how. We ended up carrying it back to home with us. - We had a power outage for a day. The good news is that the heating is gas but the bad news is the stove is electric so you cannot cook while the power is out. - The heater is in the living room. You need to leave bedroom doors open at night if you don't want to freeze. Not a bit inconvenience but could be if you are seeking privacy in your bedroom. - We forgot our backpack in the cabin and when we asked the owner to see if they can ship it to us but they were not very accommodating. They let us to pick it up ourselves.

Cozy, relaxing getaway
Great place -- cozy, cute decor, nice to have the fireplace. Kids loved the big selection of books and games and stuffed animals. Comfortable beds. Small but workable kitchen, nice large dining table to eat together. Nice back patio. Very convenient to Dodge Ridge for skiing (<10min drive). Washer/dryer. A little inconvenient to bring our own linens, but not a big deal. Also lack of cell/wifi is tough, but that is the case in many parts of Stanislaus. Very helpful and responsive host! Would stay here again!

Uncomfortable Basic Cabin
Pros: Easy Communication w/hosts/Property was functional for most part. Cons: completely outdated/uncomfortable beds-furniture/lack of basic amenities(like linens, there was only one pillow in the house,etc)/dangerous heating elements like big heating vent in the middle of entry way to bedrooms. Bathroom also had dangerous heating element. The walkway to front door had not been cleared and had turned into giant slippery hard ice path that my wife slipped on(at this point you couldn’t shovel a path as it had turned to hard ice). You were expected to utilize this entrance to get into house but I would recommend Also the hosts said it didn’t provide linens because of the remoteness of the site but the place did have a washer and dryer. Probably more of cost concern considering they could have a cleaning person wash linens. After one very uncomfortable night we booked a B&B in Sonora and didn’t stay a second night. Given other similarly priced options in the area(with more amenities like Wi-Fi, linens, a piece of furniture under 30 years old) I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Great Cabin near Ski Resort
We stayed at this cabin for a ski weekend at Dodge Ridge. This was the perfect location for our family and was about 15 minutes to the ski resort. The cabin was spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked to make cooking dinner easy. Communication with the owner was also very easy and we always received very quick responses. We hope to stay here again.

Went skiing at Dodge Ridge in the middle of a snow storm it was great:) Cabin was perfect for us:)
The Property sits in the most beautiful landscape. Mother nature let it snow about 25 inches while we were there. The cabin is old but well kept and cute. The price was on point. The owners did a great job in their communication with us. We loved it, we would go back again.

Great place if you have the right expectations
We loved our stay here. This is an older cabin, which gives that "real feel". The location is great, and provided us easy access to Dodge Ridge skiing. Few things to note - they were not a problem for us, but just something you should be aware of: - there is no wifi - cell coverage is spotty / very weak (may depend on carrier) - you are expected to take your trash with you If these are not a problem to you, I highly recommend this cabin.

We have been coming to the Strawberry Pinecrest area for many years and were fortunate to have found this cabin in 2003.

Why they chose this property

It is close to the Stanislaus River and Dodge Ridge Resort. We fly fish and spin cast at the river during the fishing season and ski during ski season. We use the cabin year round. During the ski season, we can get to the cabin without having to drive the added hours, travel the extra miles and fight the traffic to get to Tahoe.

What makes this property unique

The cabin is simple, cozy, comfortable, and close to fishing and skiing areas. We enjoy the hiking, the outdoors, and tranquility of being away from the big cities, yet still having the amenities of home.
