About this property

Our farm with its own chapel and forestry is located in the romantic side valley of Ettersbach in Simonswald at the foot of the Kandel. Relax and unwind away from traffic. Enjoy the beautiful landscape and the fresh black forest air. Surrounded by meadows, fir forests and a torrent, where our guests can fish for free (with a fishing license)!

Another gem is our restored sawmill and grain mill with old Black Forest technology that you can visit. There are also demonstrations on request.

Idylle pur

Die Ferienwohnung ist traumhaft an zwei Wassermühlen gelegen. Wir haben es genossen täglich das Rotwild vom Ess-/Wohnzimmer aus zu beobachten. Unser Sohn fütterte gern die Hasen oder vergnügte sich mit dem Kicker bzw. der Tischtennisplatte. Es waren zudem viele (Kinder)Bücher und Spiele vorhanden. Die Ausstattung der Wohnung ist top! Es ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für die zahlreichen Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Nähe. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und wären sicher häufiger da, wenn es nicht so weit weg wäre 🙃

Unschlagbare Lage in einem Seitental von Simonswald.

Wir waren etwas früh angereist, was jedoch kein Problem bildete. Der Empfang war überaus freundlich. Von der Umgebung waren wir von Anfang an begeistert. Die Wohnung war sehr sauber und ließ es an nichts fehlen. Der große Balkon erstreckte sich über Wohnzimmer, Bad und Schlafzimmer und hatte 2 Zugänge. Am Ende eines Wandertages konnte man dort die Abendsonne mit einem Blick auf die Berge, die Säge-und die Getreidemühle und nicht zur vergessen auf das Damwild genießen. Das Milchhäusl am Hauseingang wartete zudem mit Quellwasser gekühlten Getränken. Wer auf das Auto verzichten möchte, sollte gut zu Fuß sein. Wir werden den Ettersbachhof trotz unserer langen Anfahrt von fast 700 km sicher noch einmal besuchen.

Petit coin de paradis entre forêt, ruisseau et animaux

Nous avons passé une semaine exceptionnelle en famille (2 adultes, 2 enfants de 6 et 9 ans) dans ce petit coin de paradis. Situé en hauteur de la vallée, au bout de la rue, en bord de forêt, face au ruisseau, au moulin à eau et à l’ancienne scierie, l’appartement est idéal pour profiter de la beauté de la région. Les enfants ont adoré le contact avec les animaux (chats, chien, lapins, poules, chèvres) et la gentillesse de la petite voisine qui leur a fait faire le tour du propriétaire. La grande terrasse à l’ombre (soleil en fin d’après-midi, idéal !) est parfaitement orientée pour admirer le cerf et ses biches parcourir la butte d’en face en soirée (ce que nous appelions “Hirsch TV” 😄). L’appartement est grand, bien découpé, pratique et bien équipé. Le ruisseau a apporté de la fraîcheur bienvenue pour grands et petits au cours des journées les plus chaudes. Les transats au bord de l’eau sont très pratiques et donnent une vue pittoresque sur la bâtisse et sa petite chapelle. Les enfants sont repartis le cœur gros en nous suppliant de déménager 😊 Nous reviendrons avec plaisir à la saison prochaine.

Totally amazing!

This place is totally amazing! As a family of 4 (kids aged 3 and 5) we had a fantastic week here. The apartment was just perfect with enough space for us all. It was spotlessly clean and Marlene was very helpful. Every evening we watched the deers from the balcony. The balcony was a big hit with the kids where they happily played for hours! It is a very peaceful place with beautiful views. The black forest has so much to offer and the greatest thing is much if it is free with the king's guest card! An absolute must is the swimming pool in waldkirch and the nature trail in hinterzarton. We can't recommend this place enough! Thank you Marlene

Just a wonderful, relaxing place.

We loved this place. Stayed at the beginning of June with my sister and her two kids. We arrived two hours early but Marlene was non-plussed and showed us around right away. Every morning I had my coffee on the balcony, overlooking the mills and the deer field, listening to the stream rush by. Every night we had our dinner there and played games until it got dark. One of our four nights there Marlene's husband threw feed on the slope of the deer field to bring them down. It was so special to watch the herd each morning and night, especially when the fawns would chase each other over the slopes (we ultimately decided there were eight fawns- and they were adorable). The apartment is lovely and clean and comfortable, exactly as the listing stated. The GPS on our rental indicated we had arrived long before we did; just keep going until the pavement stops, you'll recognize it from the photos. It's a seemingly remote location but it's actually pretty central for the Black Forest. We spent our three days there headed off in all directions and our nights relaxing on the balcony. When we left I wished we'd booked more time there. I would definitely recommend and will come back myself if I make it back to the area. Danke Marlene!

Lovely and comfortable house

We really enjoyed our winter holiday in this beautiful house in Simonswald. It is very comfortable and well equipped. The owners are very hospitable. The view is truly amazing and the location is great - both quiet but also close to all places of interest. Highly recommended. We will return for a summer holiday one day :-)

Idyllisch, herzlich, heimelig

Weit weg vom Verkehr, nahe den Wäldern, haben wir eine tiptop saubere, super eingerichtete Ferienwohnung angetroffen. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen und wir fühlten uns sogleich wohl. Gute Lage um diverse Ausflüge zu unternehmen. Zentral im Schwarzwald gelangt man in kürzester Zeit an diverse sehenswerte Orte. Wir haben die ruhige Lage mit unseren Kindern sehr genossen.

Refreshing

We planned a short walking trip in the Black forest in a peaceful location and were not disappointed. The apartment was in a perfect location overlooking stream and forest and on the edge of several walking tracks. Given it was February the weather was great, we had hoped for snow and got just enough of it to make the walks even prettier without any disruption. Marlene greeted us and made sure everything was fine and she was available if needed. The apartment was well laid out and had everything necessary for our comfort. We had a car and so it was easy to travel to Freiburg and surrounding places though we were really happy walking in and around Simonswald. Would highly recommend this apartment and would definitely come back.

Ein herrlicher Urlaub, völlig entspant

Zo eine super FEWO hatten wir nog nicht. Schöne grosse Zimmer. Ein wunderbares Balkon wo wir sogar an den kühlen Tagen noch draussen sitzen konnten weil der Wind nicht so an uns kommen konnte. Fantastische locatie, randje bos, aan de voet van de Kandel. Mooi ruim appartement.

Aan de rand van het dorpje Simonswald ligt dit huis als laatste aan de straat. Je loopt zo het bos in, diverse wandelpaden aanwezig. Voor fietsers... de Kandel. Vanaf diverse punten en via diverse routes te bedwingen. Ruime appartement, royaal balkon, met uitzicht op de beek en een hertenwei. Zeer weinig verkeer, de beek is wel continue aanwezig. Vriendelijke eigenaar die, als je ze nodig hebt, goed meedenkt. Bakker in het dorp op ca 2 km, net zoals diverse leuke restaurants, mini golf en terrasjes.

En medio de la naturaleza

amazing apartment

My wife and I and our three children rented the apartment for 12 days. it was amazing the apartment it self is beautifull fully furnished including kitchen. it is situated in the most beautifull area secluded and quiet. great location for traveling around the black forest area. Marlene was there to greet us when we arrived and was always happy to help with anything we asked always smiling and always cheerfull. the apartment was definatley one of the highlights of an amazing trip. it really is just how it looks in the pictures. Very warm and nice apartment
