Humming Bird Hideaway

To serve you better, we now have high speed internet provided by Starlink! WINTER IN THE MOUNTAINS ! This season brings stark black trees against gorgeous sunrises and sunsets with distant mountain ranges.and Mountain Views . Our nights may reach the thirties, great weather for cuddling up in front of the roaring fireplace. We may even have a light dusting of snow. As you travel up the mountain, you may see our new fawns and baby turkeys and other fauna and flora. Our location offers tons of hiking trails, winery, golfing, waterfalls, caves, and lakes nearby. There are plenty of trails for ATV’s and hiking on the over 10,000 acres at the adjacent Cumberland Trails state park. We have several parks& waterfalls in the area. We have “ozone falls” photographed for you, only five miles from the cabin. All of this is accessible from our driveway. We strongly recommend bringing a GPS!

The hummingbird birds are south for the winter, soon to return this spring . Out back deck is a feeding station. Hence our name “humming bird hideaway “Soak in the jacuzzi while watching them.

Nearby Crossville has old time heritage dating back to the early 1900’s. Enjoy our coffee shops and a variety of restaurants. Crossville even has a museum for the history buffs. We have antique car shows. We close down Main Street for this popular event held on the fourth Saturday of each month, 1-5pm. By the way, Tennessee has some great antique cars! Also known as the “Golf Capital” of Tennessee with many courses to choose from. Visit Bear Trace golf course, Ozone falls, Lake Tansi, Watts Bar Lake, we are 12 miles from Fairfield Glade.

The Cumberland county playhouse offers some delightful entertainment. I have enjoyed three plays just this season. They are truly a delight! It’s a short drive. Check out the season at

It’s a bit cooler up here at 2700 feet and yes some days we are in the clouds. Relax in our jacuzzi, barbecue, or enjoy a bonfire. Get away from the heat. We suggest you book now to reserve your spot on the beautiful mountain. Bring a jacket, we are nice and cool up here great for sitting by the fire pit & stars. Thank you.

At the Top

Hummingbird Hideaway was perfect! The drive up to Crab Orchard was beautiful. The lodging is wonderful with all the things you’d want to hide away for a peaceful weekend. Carol was very sweet and accommodating. The surroundings are quiet and beautiful enjoyed my coffee watching the birds, perfect place for a reboot. I will be returning highly recommend.

Memorable

We really enjoyed how quiet it was up there and how secluded it was. Saw Ms Carol like one time when she came to introduce herself. She is so kind. We definitely want to book this one again when we go visit up that way next time.

Weekend Getway

Very sweet host and clean space. Going forward I would just inform future guest that the home in similar to a guest house. My boyfriend and I both agreed that it was just a bit too small for us but not a bad space at all.

Amazing experience

Carol was amazing!!! so warm and welcoming and made our check in and check out process really easy!! We made a trip to the nearest Walmart got some food to make for our stay and all pots and pans were provided for our convince ! There’s an amazing waterfall close to the property great for pictures and a really nice winery near the Walmart that had free tastings! We enjoyed the hot top at the top of the mountain and could see all the stars in the sky!! 10/10 recommend!!

20yr Anniversary

We had a GREAT time!! So private, and beautiful!! I was confused as to which building was our place to stay…I didn’t realize it was the building next to the house. If Carol wasn’t home to show us, we would have ended up in her home, and totally embarrassed! Maybe attach a picture of the outside too, so no confusion for others.

Getaway

Cute studio attached to owners home in a beautiful quite subdivsion. Mini kitchen was just right for our stay. Many places to explore close by and having the largest flea market is a great bonus!

Cozy Cottage

Quiet and relaxing

Very clean quiet And you had everything you needed all in one space didn't get to use the jacuzzi or the fire pit but that is available would maybe suggest Wi-Fi for emergency reasons.

Quiet & Tranquil

Quick Week bud Getaway for my Wife and I to celebrate our anniversary. The cabin has all of the basic amenities to get you through. Mrs Carol was by far one of the best host we’ve had. She answered many questions for us and my wife even invited her for morning coffee and girl talk. She respected our privacy very much so and only came if we needed an answer to a question or was invited. Nice Hot Tub off of the back deck next to the hummingbird feeders and rock fire pit with lounge chairs to gaze off into the wilderness. Only complaints if any is the Cabin is very close to Mrs. Carols house and Cell reception is very spotty. But like I said we came to unplug for the weekend so cell reception wasn’t a necessity and even though the cabin is very close to Carols house she respected our privacy and we only saw her if we needed something or invited her for morning coffee. If your looking for a place to unwind this is it. 5 stars to Mrs.Carols Humming Bird Hideaway. The Crowders will be back!

Quiet weekend getaway

The wife and I needed time away from the 4 kids. Beautiful scenery, great cabin , wonderful host. It's out there away from everything so the host being next door was somewhat comforting. Hot tub was the highlight of the trip. Wonderful weekend.

Cozy Cottage

We had a great weekend and the cottage was very clean and cozy. Loved the gas fireplace. It was a little tricky getting there the GPS gave us a crazy route going up the maintain. My only criticism would be it was close the the owners house. The owner was very sweet and we would give her 5 stars

Beautiful

The stay was absolutely beautiful and comfortable!!!! The home was so clean and well taken care of Mrs Carol puts pride in renting and it shows!!!! She was very accommodating for us coming from Michigan.... The only suggestions I would give for future stays would be WIFI and also fix the jetted tub......I didn't have cell service at the top of mountain and wifi would have helped but other than fixing a few minor things I would definitely stay again 😊😊😊😊!!!!!
