We had a fantastic time. The house had absolutely everything we needed and a backyard to spend memorable time in. The house was super clean, had a well stocked kitchen, and comfortable beds. We enjoyed the kayaks, learned paddle bording (or tried), caught big fish right from the deck, cooked smores at the fire, and watched the boys play solo in the water while the sun set. Greg was super responsive to questions and inquiries. We can't wait to be back! and fished big fish from the deck. The
We did a sisters’ weekend at Gregg’s property and it was marvelous. Owner was quick to respond to all questions, beds were very comfortable and house was spotless. We have several in the group who have allergies and the home was clean and pet free and smoke free. We used the kayaks on hand and it was fun to paddle in the calm lake. Location is very convenient near a lot of shops.
The property is well stocked and well maintained, with everything you could imagine for an adventure at the lake. The owners have a variety of outdoor activities including yard games, grill, kayaks and paddle board, lily Pad float, fire pit and more. We loved sitting in the lawn and listening to the birds in the morning and playing outside all day. Great place and great hosts.
We loved our 2 week winter stay at Greg's home. It was clean and designed very pleasantly. Greg made sure we had any question answered quickly even how to get the TV to pull up the Super Bowl game! There was great care in providing the small things like some spices and condiments as well as necessities like hand soap, toilet paper and paper towels, kitchen storage bags etc to get you started. The view was nice and we look forward to returning in warmer weather to experience getting on the water. Thank you Greg! Paul and Nancy
We absolutely loved our stay at this quaint and relaxing lake house. We visited the week between Christmas and New Years as our son lives nearby. Even though the weather was less than desirable, our grandkids loved spending time together in the house playing games, making puzzles, watching the geese and ducks every morning, and snuggling up to watch movies. It was the cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed in! The communication was great with Greg and the house had everything we needed. The beds, pillows, blankets, furniture - all were so comfortable. We will be back!
The entire experience was perfect! House was beautiful. View was incredible. Host was so friendly and helpful. He even decorated the house for Christmas.
Great cabin on Lake Norman. The place is in great condition and very clean. Stocked with everything you could need. The host Greg is awesome, with just the right amount of communication to assist in the process of the stay. Highly recommended.
From check in to check out our stay was amazing! Hosts were great and responsive. The house was spotless clean and had anything and everything you could possibly need. The lake views are beautiful and we enjoyed kayaking and sitting by the fire at night. The only negative was having to leave. We will definitely be back😁
The house and property were immaculate! We had a great time catching catfish from the dock, those catfish were huge!! I would joke with my husband and son telling them they were just catching the same one they just threw back in. The host Greg was wonderful. I would highly recommend his house!
This property was very clean, Greg was responsive to any of our needs and went out of his way to help us. We highly reccomend this location and are planning to return in the future. It was perfect for our family of 4 adults and 2 children.
Lovely home on the lake with all the amenities. We enjoyed relaxing at the fire pit, going kayaking, and spending time down at the picnic table by the lake. The location is ideal: Publix grocery store as well as several restaurants are located a mile or so away. Greg was very friendly and communicative. We look forward to staying here again.
This house is beautifully updated. We had great weather and were able to enjoy the covered deck over the water.. Even managed to catch some nice catfish right from the dock! Would definitely rent again.
Booking the house was super easy. The Host, Greg responded quickly to our questions. We arrived to find the house spotless! The house looked newly remodeled and the open concept layout was perfect for our family of 6. The Kitchen had anything you would need and was large enough to accommodate our group and we all had a place to sit while watching a movie in the sitting area. The bedrooms were large and the beds very comfortable. The included sheets and towels were top quality! The property was loaded with amenities. (Outdoor furniture, Kayaks, paddleboard, Cornhole, life jackets, swim noodles and a large floating pad). We made use of all of it as most of our time was spent outside, usually in the water or in the evenings sitting around the firepit roasting marshmallows! We also rented a boat that tied up perfectly to the deep water dock! Another highlight was the the frequent visits of the giant turtle that lives nearby in the lake! My wife and I hosted our Daughter, Our Son and his wife and our Granddaughter. We were able to make priceless memories and hope to return to do it all again soon!
Thank you for allowing us access to your lovely home!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your comfortable lake front home. Your home is well equipped and stocked with everything travelers need. My sister and I perched on your bar stools as we watched my daughter (a wannabe chef) and her husband (the grill master) prepare gourmet meals in your excellent, spacious kitchen.
We loved the covered dock, the retractable awning over the porch deck, and the grill. We planned on using your large fire pit, but the temperatures were too hot for that. We spent many hours kayaking, swimming, and watching the wildlife that included ospreys, blue birds, robins, a great blue heron that seemed to be a permanent resident, ducks, Canada geese, a hawk, a tame rabbit, and jumping fish. The gentle slope to the water was easy to navigate, and the small steps by the pier made it easy to enter the shallow water and board the kayaks.
It was peaceful and quiet every day with a constant breeze and no wake. The location was easy to find and close to grocery stores, shops, and restaurants (Boss Hog and Big Daddy’s were our favorites). My daughter was able to respond to work requests seamlessly and hosted a zoom meeting using your internet connection. We enjoyed the Olympics on your huge, flat screen TV. Really anything we wanted was readily available. Thank you for hosting a wonderful vacation.
Great house, perfect location. Host was helpful and in communication at all times. House was clean and well stocked with everything you need for a great lake weekend. Can’t wait to come back!
Greg was by far the best VRBO host we’ve ever come in contact with. I had mentioned to him that we would be celebrating our anniversary while we were there and he left us a bottle of champagne to enjoy. So thoughtful! He was quick to recommend restaurants and things to do in the area, as well as places to rent a boat. He even texted me randomly to let me know NOT to go to a restaurant nearby after a bad experience. The house was exactly as pictured and the lake was awesome. I was surprised how warm it was! It was just two of us but there is plenty of room for two couples and kids. We spent a few days just relaxing on the dock, kayaking, paddle boarding and laying on that amazing water mat! We even ate all three meals out on the picnic table overlooking the water. The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet, and because the house is located in a cove there is hardly any boat traffic. The house is conveniently located just 5 minutes from Publix and you can find almost every chain restaurant imaginable on 150 heading towards Mooresville. When we lost power due to Hurricane Debby, Greg was quick to stop by with water, flashlights, candles, coffee, doughnuts and even battery packs for our phones. I appreciated the quality hairdryers in each bathroom (not your typical cheap Conair models!). I am only disappointed that we ran out of time to use the fire pit! If we ever come back to the area we would definitely stay here again!
We are repeat visitors to this location and are already planning a return trip next summer. The owners are great hosts and the house meets every need, fully stocked kitchen, close to grocery store and restaurants, quiet side of the lake… The property is large and clean with a super shoreline and nice dock. It is peaceful and welcoming. And…we even caught a few nice fish, right from the dock.
My youngest son moved to Mooresville last year for school. He was the baby. The last to leave the nest. My other son and I went to visit. I wanted to stay someone nice and peaceful! Spending time on the dock next to the water gave me the sweet time with my boys. We talked, laughed and just enjoyed each others company. This place was more than a place to crash for a few days for us. Remembering the important things in life and remembering God’s beauty was certainly healing for the soul!! Thank you for opening your beautiful home!!
We had THE BEST time at this rental on Lake Norman. The house was the perfect size, we had 5 adults. The dock was so close, even closer looking than the photos. We literally floated for hours with the provided noodles, kayaks and water pad. We brought our own floats but didn't need them. The house is equipped with everything from beach towels to parchment paper to salt and pepper. I cannot say enough about what a great place this was! And Greg was easily reachable if needed which is a comfort just in case. Once again, we loved it! Looking forward to next time! Thank you, Greg!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the peaceful Setting! This unit has everything a lake house should have. This place was used as a base camp for our main purpose in NC which was Noodling. Or better known in the area as Grabbling. The method of grabbing a catch fish with one’s hand as it bites you. We hope to revisit this property and the sport in the near future.
We had a perfect lake vacation at this property. It was a terrific location for swimming, boating, kayaking and fishing. The house was thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. Also the location was convenient to the grocery store and restaurants!

About the host
Hosted by Greg Schmidt
We purchased and updated this charming cottage on Lake Norman in the spring of 2021. We are originally from NW Ohio and moved to nearby Mooresville in 2014 and fell in love with Lake Norman! My wife, three teenage kids and I love to spend the days floating in the lake, kayaking and sitting by the fire. We also enjoy sitting on the deck, listening to nature and watching ducks swim, fish jump and turtles float in the lake.
Why they chose this property
This property is in a quiet less developed area on Lake Norman yet conveniently located near Publix and many restaurants. The dock is located in a no wake zone of the cove with deep water (at least 11' at end of floating dock) and good water movement, so it's perfect for floating near the dock.
What makes this property unique
This property is very peaceful. It's a no wake zone so there are limited waves so you can enjoy a relaxing float in the water. The lot is towards the end of a dead end road and is spacious, therefore it is a relatively quite area.
