This is a nice charming place. Very clean and very comfortable. I like the proximity to Louisville. This was our 2nd stay and would definitely stay again.
This property was just as described. We were very comfortable and impressed by all the extras most rentals dont offer. The host was very good at communicating and gave very great descriptions of pieces of furniture in the home and a sweet story about Jane the cottages namesake. 10 out of 10 would stay here again!
We had family in Elizabeth so we are familiar with the area. This time we got to do some things we had been wanting to do and never had the chance. The house was perfect for us, the kitchen was great the beds comfortable and the bathrooms large. Having the store across the street is helpful.
This property was amazing! The blend of modern accomodations and history within the home was breath taking. I definitely recommend this place to stay. Our stay here was for six people and we had plenty of comfort and room for all. If we are ever visiting this area again, we will definitely stay again😊
Clean place close to bigger towns. We went down for the casino. Spent the weekend plenty of towels, coffee an ect.there was nothing they didnt have that we need.
The property is newly renovated, clean, and in excellent condition - just as described. We had a quiet and relaxing weekend getaway. Convenient location to general store across the street. Enjoyed multiple parks and hiking trails in the area. Jim provided all the info and communicated well. Would stay again!
My wife and I took my mother in law for her birthday to visit family. The home was warm and inviting. Just right for family to visit, kids had room in the yard to raise a ruckus. Pricing was absolutely great. Only contacted owners once because I didn't read......the email for door code. Very fast response and friendly. Thank you for a wonderful visit!
We booked this home last minute. When we arrived it was clean & ready for us. It was such a cute & cozy place to stay. The kids went to Floyd one night & had a blast. Plenty of places to visit. The cookies in the freezer was a great touch!Thank you you so much for sharing your home with us.
I really enjoyed the house especially the multiple climate controls. The house was very clean and well furnished. The layout was very comfortable. I recommend the general store, very good breakfast sandwiches and very well stocked. The trips we made to Louisville were very easy. I would definitely stay again . Thank You
I stayed here due to my son working nearby. The house was extremely clean and welcoming. Communication with the property owner was extremely easy and very quick responses. I personally have ATT and there is no cell service but, WiFi was provided and is top tier speeds. The general store next door has about everything you would need. Very nice and comfortable.
I can not say enough good things! The house was wonderful. The little town was perfect. The host has been incredibly amazing with communication throughout the entire process! Its like we felt a little connection to this place as a peaceful small town safe haven. I would recommend 1000xs over! Please stay here you wont be disappointed.
* for reference we are in our 30s and our kids are 12, 10 and 6 we all had an amzing time!
There were six adults staying at Jane’s Cottage. We were all extremely pleased with the accommodations. There is everything you can possibly want supplied here. The beds are so plush and comfortable that you feel like you are on a cloud. Bathrooms are stocked with an incredible amount of things for you to use like shampoos, shaving cream and so much more. The kitchen has all you will need to prepare meals. The cottage itself is very charming and very clean. The general store across the street has much more than we expected and is very convenient. The countryside is beautiful also. It was nice to be away from the hassle of the city.
We love staying at Jane’s Cottage! This was our second stay and it was just as comfortable as last time. It’s wonderful to escape the city and relax in the quiet small town and still be close enough to Louisville to go out and grab a nice dinner. James is so thoughtful and considerate. He is very attentive and easy to communicate with. His staff does an excellent job keeping the place clean and comfortable with modern conveniences. This last time they had added a nice area behind the garage with a fire pit! The back yard is really nice and it’s great to sit outside and chill on the porch, the balcony, the patio, and now around the fire pit. I highly recommend making a trip to stay here!
This was my second stay at this home. I spent three nights in March after my daughter had surgery (I wanted to be nearby if she needed me. My daughter spent one night with me during the stay.) The house was a perfect location as it was close to family. I grew up in the area so am very familiar.
House itself is beautiful. I love the old, original pieces blended with the new, modern touches. Kitchen is fairly well stocked with modern appliances. The rest of the house is very comfortable and beautifully decorated with antiques.
The area is quiet and out of the way but close enough to whatever you need. Louisville is about 30 minutes away.
Owner was very responsive to questions and very easy to work with.
Will definitely stay again.
The five of us (2 parents and kids ages 6-14) spent a few nights here as part of a southern Indiana hiking tour. The cottage is beautifully restored and adorably small town charming, right across the road from the general store.
Inside, it has been equipped with excellent Wi-Fi, smart plugs and power strips, individual climate control units, and plenty of bedding and towels for all 5 of us.
There's only one bathroom (the downstairs bathroom is a half) with a tub & shower, which made bath time a little bit exciting for the 3 kids, but it's plenty spacious, and the backyard is huge.
Host was very responsive and provided us a lot of information about the historical significance of the property as well as the furnishings in it. We were about half an hour from the bridge to Kentucky and all of the city conveniences, if we needed them.
Kids do not want to leave, even with all three of them sharing one bedroom and a pull-out couch.
The house is set in a perfect spot for us. We did not want to stay in a big city, but we wanted to be close enough to Squire Boone Cavern and Kentucky Kingdom. Jane's cottage turned out to be a perfect location for those needs. Jane's Cottage is wonderfully remodeled and beautifully decorated. The appliances were very nice. Everything was wonderful, right down to the kitchen sink. The general store right across the road from the house had anything you could need if you are in a pinch. We had everything we needed to feel at home in Jane's Cottage. They had cool pictures of the rebuild and a wonderful story behind the name Jane's Cottage. Big screen tv in the living room with subscription services available for use. I could keep going and going, but I am not sure people want to read a book on our experience. All I will say to wrap things up is, we highly recommend Jane's Cottage in Elizabeth Indiana. It has everything you will need for your vacation. The host kept in great contact through text, which turned out to be very helpful. Thank you!
