About this property

Yukon cabin in the woods

The cabin is next to the creek and that’s what you hear. It’s quiet, private and peaceful. The large wraparound covered porch is great to curl up and read a book. A nice stock kitchen if you feel like cooking. Many separate areas for game playing, tv watching and just hanging out to relax. The cabin is close to downtown Canton and Waynesville. A short distance to the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Smokey Mountains.
NEW PORCH JUST ADDED VIEWS OF THE CREEK!

Spacious Country Cabin was Just the Ticket

We had a great time at the cabin. Lots of space and the games were a real bonus. The November chill kept us off of the porches, but the newer rear porch would have been a beautiful space to relax. The immediate area is still recovering from hurricane Helene, but Waynesville was bustling with activity. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful stay in the mountains

Owners were wonderful and easy to work and communicate with. House is gorgeous and sitting on a beautiful lot surrounded by woods, stream, location was perfect. No damage at house or property from hurricane, roads and bridges were already repaired, some detours but overall didn’t affect travel times by much to the locations we needed to be at for the family wedding we were attended in Leicester. Definitely would recommend!

Loved this place

It was just a wonderful place to come together with family. The owner was the nicest person who was always a phone call away. I was more than pleased and we really did get more than our money's worth.

Excellent cabin with beautiful mtn views and peaceful stream sounds.

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary trip. This cabin was amazing outside and inside. We saw turkeys and deer that came up feet from the door. The cabin had all we needed to cook and accommodate our stay. More than enough room for my wife and I but we hope to bring back our family of 6 to stay in the future. Our only regret is the we couldn't stay longer.

Easy to relax

Was surprised that the property was even better than the listing showed! We were able to shop, sightsee, and relax on the deck with the sound of the creek, watch the wild turkeys and a needed chill out Liked it so much, we extended for the month of August.

This is a beautiful property with the charm of being in the woods and yet very accessible to town and other essential shops. The stream in the back yard and the apple tree in the front laden with apples is all worth it. The kitchen was well organized and had all the amenities with plenty of dishes and pots and pans. Great place to relax and enjoy with family.

Very beautiful house

Really enjoyed the house loved the layout. Electric fireplace provided a lot of heat for the ladies and was nice to look at in the evening. Spent most of our time in the kitchen area just hanging out together. The girls loved the couches even took a nap or two. Very nice and homely feeling. Kitchen was well stocked.

Yukon Cabin

Our stay was fine. The back porch is especially nice. Sound of the backyard stream is very nice. Home and kitchen are well equipped with all necessities. Had trouble with two TV’s with ROKU sticks. Turkeys provided a show several days. Owner was responsive. Will probably try a different property due to TV issue.

We enjoyed this stay very much. very spacious, clean beautiful home. The pictures dont do justice to this home. It's much more spacious and comfortable than it appears in pictures. The back porch is wonderful to sit and relax listening to the flowing creek. Wildlife viewing, turkeys walk through and also roost in trees next to the porch. Deer walk through and one of the largest squirrels I have ever seen. We appreciate the owners and host for allowing us the privilege of use of their home.

Great Cabin

We were impressed with the cabin from day one in July. Liked it so much, We came back for the month of AUGUST. The owner and Sharon were great to work with. Helped solve the little problems we had and then left us alone.. The peace and quiet of the location was great for afternoon naps on the back deck. Spending an afternoon just relaxing, watching the antics of the 13 wild turkeys that used the yard to eat in and rest and the doe and fawn that grazed up the hill. We never used the accomodations up stairs, just lived in the downstairs which was all we needed. Including the back deck with the sounds of nature and the creek. The creek was just down a set of steps, and the water was cold. We will go back again!

Pros and Cons

This rental had some very good aspects as well as some challenges. From a positive perspective, the home is roomy, nice TVs in multiple rooms, new well-done back deck facing the stream, nice big front and back yards, and a pretty view of surrounding mountains both close by and in the distance. The house is well-stocked with good size master bath. We felt that a family of 7 would have plenty of space to enjoy the house. Kitchen had very nice appliances with plenty of utensils and accessories to have fun cooking for a family. Internet worked fine as well. On the challenges side, there were a few as well. The neighboring area was not our favorite. There are nearby areas where junk such as old buses, cars, tires, and so forth have been dumped. Also, some of the nearby residences were in need of restoration and/or repair. The listing advertised "electric fireplaces", but we could not get any heat from them, only simulated fire lights. The jacuzzi did not work during our entire stay. Owner indicated they had been having many problems with it since it had been installed. Could not get anyone to come out and repair it during our stay. Disappointing for us because hot tub was an important part of our selection process, especially for my wife. Around the house there were a few lightbulbs missing or burned out. Overall, we did enjoy our stay, the proximity to Waynesville and Canton is very good. It is an easy drive to get up the mountain to the house. We felt the owners did take reaonable care of the house and yard and want guests to enjoy themselves.

Very spacious and comfortable!

This house it amazing! If you are looking to stay off away from the hustle and bustle than this is your place! It is very spacious and we were super comfortable staying here. My kids loved the ping pong table and had loads of fun in the loft. I would definitely recommend this cabin. The only issue we had was we could not get the hot tub to heat up. I messaged the owner and she explained even though it is brand new it is not working properly. My family was bummed about this but understood.

Great Space, Wonderfully Equipped

We had four golfers staying in the house and it was perfect! Lots of room to spread out. Kitchen was equipped with everything we could need. We loved sitting on the deck listening to the stream and we even ventured into the new hot tub. Check-in and Checkout were very easy. Thank you for being such great hosts!!

Lovely cabin

Sweet little place to stay with family and friends. We had two 12 year olds, a 14 year old, and 4 adults. We all found comfort inside and outside the house. The little creek in the back was relaxing. The grassy hills gave the kids somewhere to run out some energy. The living space was cozy for playing games together as a large group. The kitchen was just the right size to cook for the large group. All around good experience!

The owners are from Chicago and came to North Carolina and fell in love with the mountains! We like outside activities, hiking, fishing and hunting so this is the perfect place to be. We love the mild seasons and the fall is beautiful! And you can ski close by in the winter! We love relaxing in the hot tub and listening to the bubbling creek with the mountains in the background. HOT TUB IS CURRENTLY NOT WORKING!!! SO SORRY, WAITING FOR PARTS!!!!!

Why they chose this property

The property is centrally located, so easy to get to. 40 minutes to the Asheville Airport.
Between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Smokey Mountains. A large home with many exertainment areas for the family. Plenty of room outside for games and also relax by the creek or have a bonfire at night. Soak in the Hot tub after a long day of hiking is heaven. Coffee on the wrap around porch with views of the mountains will start your day right. A soak in the jetted inside tub will finish off you day! Downtown Canton and Downtown Waynesville are close by for great restaurants and shopping. Hiking and river rafting are close by.

Canton is nestled between the Blue Ridge and the Great Smoky Mountains, The 469-mile Blue Ridge Parkway, one of the country’s most popular scenic drives, meanders through mountain valleys and loops around Waynesville and Canton in route to Virginia’s Shenandoah National Park. The picturesque thoroughfare branches out to more than 100 hiking trails, ranging from short footpaths to the Appalachian Trail, which stretches from Georgia to Maine. Maggie Valley hosts festivals, concerts, events as well as restaurants, antique shopping, museums, live music and much more. Waynesville which is 15 minutes away is a charming, old-fashioned town, with a Main Street lined with pretty trees and brick sidewalks. Wonderful restaurants (southern cooking!) breweries and wine. There are also many quaint storefronts, including a general store, a candy store, and antique shops housed in old buildings. But anyone visiting Waynesville should also spend at least a day exploring Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The park covers cascading waterfalls, more than 1,500 types of wildflowers, and dozens of historical mills and barns. Just a delight to visit.

What makes this property unique

Private yet not far from things to do. Great for the whole family. Lots of outside area for games. It's large so plenty of different spaces for all family members to do their own thing.
Great WIFI for Mom or Dad to work from the cabin if need be.
The covered porch is amazing to sit and have your morning coffee and look at the mountains. Level ground for easy in and out. Parking is convenient being right outside the main entrance.
