Welcome to Dragonfly House, located in the heart of Old Town Auburn. Quiet and peaceful, yet so close to Auburn’s amenities you almost won’t believe how close you are to everything. Recently updated, this clean cottage offers two comfortable bedrooms, two updated spacious bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, a room to keep your “stuff” out of the way during your stay, a 45” Smart TV in the living room along with games and books.
We offer off street parking with two driveways if you are bringing your own vehicles and/or will be having guests. If you are arriving by airplane, inquire about our pickup fees. We offer rides to and from the airport for an additional $75 each way when we can. You will get a little tour of Auburn before heading to the house if you so desire. We believe in being flexible, so if you need to arrive early or would like a couple extra hours at check-out, please ask. If we can accommodate you, we most certainly will!
When it comes to mealtime, Dragonfly House is so conveniently located, we have found most of our guests choose to go to the Pour Choice (one minute walk) one of Auburn’s premier coffee shops or dine at one of the many restaurants located literally within a 1-2 minute walk from your front door. We offer a variety of suggestions and menus for you to choose from as well. However, you will always find in the fully stocked kitchen, fresh organic eggs, organic cream (upon request), coffee from our local roaster, a variety of teas and, some snacks for when you arrive.
The master bedroom is located in the back of the house. It is peaceful and offers plenty of closet space to hang your clothes. The comfortable queen sized bed has a variety of pillows to rest your head on, extra blankets for the winter and a portable air conditioner for the summer. The second bedroom has a comfy full sized bed w/an armoire for your items.
We offer plenty of books and information on trails and happenings in and around Auburn. Dragonfly House is so walkable you can get to the trails, shop at the Farmers Market, attend events at the fairgrounds, walk to downtown Auburn (5 mins) all without ever getting in your car.
The backyard is private and offers plenty of room to enjoy your morning coffee and listen to the birdsong or sip a drink at the end of a full day. Or you can sit on the front porch and watch the neighbors taking a walk to town, cyclists ride by or tourists wandering around.

We spent 6 nights at this wonderful spot in Old Auburn - totally enjoyed our stay… There’s plenty of space in the home, and one can walk anywhere. Kristi is an amazing host… Highly recommend it.

Weekend Trip for Wedding

Loved, LOVED the location of this home. Walked to the Pour Choice each morning and enjoyed meals at Edelweiss and the Ale House. Perfect landing space for a wedding weekend. Clean & had everything we needed.

Home Away From Home

This cottage was perfect. Right in Old Auburn. Close to the best coffee shop and great shopping. We enjoyed our stay as this place was cozy, the owner had included all the touches that make you feel welcome and it was very well equipped Lots of storage space, we were welcomed with fresh eggs and cream in the fridge and a fresh baguette bread on the counter with great coffee as well. Loved staying here , will definitely come again.

The Perfect Getaway

Our stay at Kristi’s cottage truly exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect getaway for the weekend. It’s located in a beautiful and historical location within walking distance of restaurants. Kristi was an amazing host. She made our stay in her cottage hospitable. She provided so many goodies and other necessities that can easily be forgotten when traveling. I’m hoping to revisit in the near future.

So Thoughtful!

8:33 PM 10/13/2022 So thoughtful! Kristi was a great host from the start. On our arrival, we needed some help getting inside, and Kristi answered her phone right away and patiently provided instructions. Kristi encouraged us to call with any further questions. Inside, the house is warm, colorful and friendly -- full of Kristi's personal touch. Kristi clearly cares about the Dragonfly House and the comfort of her guests. I was delighted to see all the light switches labeled, including the garbage disposal. No need to hear any annoying growl when I'm trying to find a kitchen light switch. Grrrrr! :o I just kept thinking how thoughtful Kristi has been in setting up the house. There were notes and menus and local guides in the house to assist our stay. The dragonfly theme is charming and all the more of a personal touch from Kristi. The rooms are fully furnished and equipped with plenty of drawers, hangers hooks -- you name it! In addition to the house, I was amazed by what a great location this is. Just a short walk from a great breakfast place, and other restaurants and shops as well. Lots of great walking from this location! I want to stay in this house the next time I get a chance! Thank you for a wonderful stay, Kristi!

Beyond Cute

Amazingly cute property that’s only a few seconds walk to Old Town Auburn, and yet so quiet you’d never know How close you are. Kristi made sure we enjoyed our stay and was easily available via VRBO chat. Definitely coming back.

Cute and very comfortable

We loved our 4 day escape at Kristi’s cottage. It really is in the heart of the old town and very walkable. It is very comfortable and had everything we needed and more. Not only does it have all the kitchen essentials, but Kristi has added lots of tasty treats. So nice to have your own parking spot right outside too. Lots to see and do in the surrounding area. We would definitely stay again.

Above and beyond!

The dragonfly house was amazing! First it is right dab in the middle of old town! Walking distance to all the shops and eatery’s! Kirsti was amazing leaving us some baked goods from one of the bakery’s! The cottage is so cute! All the extras like the sticker jar, and the keepsake were thoughtful! We will be booking this cute little cottage again!

I live and work as a Realtor in Auburn and live minutes away from Dragonfly House. 20 years ago Auburn called to me and I haven't looked back. With cycling on both road and trails, paddle boarding and skiing or snowshoeing Auburn has been the perfect place to live. I hope you enjoy it here as well.

Why they chose this property

The location is perfect. Dragonfly House has been updated and described as home away from home. The perfect location to shopping and restaurants and the cleanliness of the home are just a couple of the things our guests have enjoyed. They have also appreciated the fully stocked kitchen with toaster, drip coffee machine or pour over, pots & pans, sharp knives, wine glasses, dishwasher, tea kettle and more. There are beach towels, reusable shopping bags, lavender and rosemary to enjoy from the garden and a sun hat if needed.
The half bath is a great addition when there is more than one person staying. We provide plenty of information on where to eat, shop, hike, taste wine and more to help make your stay as full as you want it to be.
We are always available to answer questions and are nearby if you need us. Feel free to ask for early check-in or late check-out, we like to be flexible :) If you need a ride to/from the airport, we offer a ride for $60 one way when we are available. Let us know if we can help out, if we can, we will be happy to do so.

What makes this property unique

It's a stand-alone home, yards from Old Town Auburn but very quiet. There is even a creek across the street that supplies a chorus of frogs in the evening while dragonflies dart throughout the garden. You will feel like you're out in the middle of nowhere, but you're not :)
