This property was perfectly situated in the idyllic town of aptly named Idyllwild. There was a winter storm before our arrival and the hosts made sure the heat was on and the pathway shoveled prior to our arrival, which was above and beyond what was expected. The snow in the mountains was just divine and it was so picturesque. We hopped between Idyllwild and Palm Springs throughout our stay and it was a great locale to be remote but cozy. The home itself was clean and beautifully set up and made for some wonderful memories.
I was able to stay at Xiaoli’s VRBO place for the President’s Day weekend. Everything was laid out and labeled. Xiaoli was always able to respond quickly if need be in regard to any questions I had. As far as the VRBO goes it had everything I needed for my stay it was kind of nice that it was a big open space since it was only me and my 2 year old.
Over-all place was clean and comfortable. Black out shades would be nice as the outside security lights come on and it’s difficult to tune them out. Good value. Would stay again.
Liked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities, communication
Thank you for sharing the lovely apartment with us. It is our first non-hotel stay and it’s such a nice experience. We’ll definitely book this again if we are in town.
It’s an ample studio for sure. Has everything you need for a comfortable stay for 4. The extra room is really a large slow ceiling closet as advertised but it was the perfect spot to sleep a 3 year old. The main bed was really hard for me but the day bed was comfy. A little more than a mile from town, 4min drive. But very nice and quiet and easy to find. Fast wifi, good cell signal. Super chill. We did cook once, had everything we needed.
A wonderful studio a short distance from town center. It's just right for those who like quiet woods and prepare their own meals in a well stocked kitchen. The AC was great for our summer visit and we hope to stay again in a different season. Thank you!
The place was home away from home; Clean, relaxing ambiance, and Xiaoli the host was always available when questions arise. With our small pup, Benson, in tow, we had a relaxing and quiet time, away from the fireworks. Even though tad warm outside, inside provided a cozy and cool stay. Highly recommended, will definitely return!
Perfect place to stay in Idyllwild. Less than 10 minute drive to town center, great trails and other sites. The studio was very spacious, comfy and cool. WiFi was great. Property managers were very responsive. Would stay here again.
The home was just as described, perfect for my wife and I and 11 year old daughter. Very quiet neighborhood in the trees, just what we wanted while staying in Idyllwild. Would definitely stay here again. My daughter had fun collecting the giant pine cones and playing corn hole.
A retired, Shanghai born American citizen. I enjoy travel around the world and visit many of the national parks and historic sites in the USA. I now choose vacation rental over hotels on my trips because I prefer the homey environment and full amenities which hotels can not offer. That experience encouraged me to post my studio on the market. I look forward to the feel of being a host to a fellow travel guest.
Why they chose this property
We bought this property from my late hubby's aunt and uncle. They obtained a contractor license and supervised the construction in middle 60s. All the materials were the best on the market. The attached and independent studio was the idea of the aunt. She claimed if the couple wanted privacy, they should be in their complete separate space. If they fought, then they could hide and avoid each other for weeks. There used to be a string tied with bells on each end and it went through the floor. That was how they communicated. We have expanded the property during 2003 to 2011. The total square footage went from 1500 sf to current 3200 sf. The windows were upgraded as was the plumbing, electrical, furnace, and we now use a tankless water heater and new microwave, oven and refrigerator. We leveled the front yard from 2 car parking to 6 car parking. A new upgraded 1500 gallon septic system was also a part of the refurbishment. The exterior siding is fire preventive fiber cement Hardie board. The roof was replaced this spring and is fire rated A1. In the rental Studio we just installed a split unit air conditioning system last November. My husband was a photojournalist and the "bonus room" in the studio used to be his dark room.
What makes this property unique
This is our second home, guests can enjoy all the benefits on the ground floor. A family can play out door games together such as Corn Hole which we provide. They can sit around the picnic table shaded by trees and tell stories and enjoy their meals. They can relax on the cushioned chairs and watch squirrels chasing each other, occasionally a family of deer will stop by and look for food or fellow wildlife.
