About this property

This is a one of a kind cabin. Secluded high up in the Rocky Mountains, but still close enough to Dubois (9 miles) to go enjoy the town. The cabin is beautifully built like no other. Cabin is close to Yellowstone Park, Teton Park, Jackson Hole and Dubois. Cabin took 3 years of custom work to finish. This is not your typical log cabin kit build. Cabin is completely done in barn wood from Wyoming and reclaimed materials. Two bedrooms with a full bathroom with a large walk in custom shower. Million dollar views of the valley and snow peaked mountains. Sit out on the large deck and enjoy the wild life. Moose, Elk, Mule Deer, Fox, Black Bear, Brown Bear, all frequent the area. This cabin is one of the highest in elevation in the state at 9000 feet. Recommended a 4x4 or AWD to get to it, but when dry a regular car will make it up there. Cabin is heated by a wood burning stove, which also provides a great atmosphere for sitting on the couch and enjoying the quiet serenity of the mountains. Cabin is equipped with pots, pans, plates, bowls and all cooking utensils. Also has a large grill for cooking, and full fridge for food storage. If you’re a fisherman/woman the fishing is 10 minutes from the cabin along with other great fishing holes in the area. Enjoy the stars like no other place in the country with almost zero light pollution. Cabin has two bedrooms, a large plush leather couch and leather recliner fit for sleeping along with five cots for extra people or kids. Cabin has a smooth WIFI system and also provides Uno, playing cards, Sequence, a fun family board game, and fishing poles for all guests including kids (will need to provide tackle). Eagles nest

You want to talk about some of the most beautiful scenery. Looking off the balcony at the absolute stunning mountains all around you,well words can't describe the beauty of gods canvas. Our host was amazing and hearing the history of the cabin is beyond special. Would highly recommended if you are a rugged outdoor type or just want to unplug from the world this is the one for you.

If you are looking for something unique, woodsy and close to wildlife this is it! The property and wildlife were awesome! Cody was also great to work with and always made sure we had everything we needed! We are definitely looking at a stay again!

The view alone is worth it

From the location, to the scenery, to the cabin, every aspect was perfect. From coffee on the deck, overlooking the miles of mountains in view, to the coziness sitting on the couch in front of the fire, just everything made the week away from work the time to recharge we needed. Cody was the perfect host, always available for questions and tips to make the trip better

Great Mountain Retreat

This is a great property, with a very one of a kind cabin. The views were amazing, and the cabin was well equipped. We thought it was really cool how personal the cabin was to the owners, and how there are picture albums of the family and the build process. It looks like a lot of love went into this place! If I have to pick something to improve on, it would be that the downstairs bedroom has a light switch, but no overhead lighting. We couldn't figure out what that switch was for! The overhead lighting is in place and functional in every other room. Not a huge deal, there was a lamp in the downstairs room that worked fine. We would definitely stay again. Cody was great with communication and checked up on us to make sure we made it and were enjoying the property.

Amazing views!

I would highly recommend this property. While the road is a little bit of a drive, the views are well worth it. The cabin is an experience in itself. It is so unique and inviting. Cody was available to help with directions and any other questions we had. We only stayed one night, so we are already trying to make plans to stay for a longer time.

Absolutely beautiful property. The driveway is a dousy so be ready for it. The altitude is something to get used to. You’re way up there. The area is absolutely beautiful with lots of things to do. We hiked, fished, rode horses, white water rafting (Jackson, WY), and rented a UTV for a day. Great place. I’d absolutely recommend it

Great time really enjoyed our time at the cabin. Close proximity to union pass road supplied many hours of exploration. The tribute to Frank was very touching at the cabin. Enjoyed Bison on the grill daily. The view is second to none you have to experience it you can’t do it justice with words or pictures. Thank You Cody for the memories we will be back

The view was worth every dime spent! Cabin was great, we made a fire and truly enjoyed ourselves. This will be our #1 place to stay the next time we’re in WY. Cody was a great host, highly recommend.

Beautiful

Although we had a few hiccups in our plans, the stay was great. Beds were comfy, view was amazing. Although it's a little far from the bigger attractions, we found that the solitude and distance from tourists added a sereneness we really cherished. If you want to go fishing nearby, we definitely suggest Wind River Lake, not too far away! We were almost always the only ones there. If you're up for a moderate+ hike, Lake Louise is an absolute gem and worth every bit of energy. Bring lots of water though!

Amazing cabin in the mountains

I was very impressed with the cabin and the host. Everything was just as described. Sitting at roughly 9000 feet, the cabin offers incredible views of the valley and mountains. All of the amenities were perfect for the location. Cody, the owner, has great communication. Any questions I had were answered within the hour. I would happily stay at the cabin again.

Family mountain trip

Overall a good experience. Everything was as expected. A bit of a learning curve to using the water system, but we figured it out! Also, we use Xfinity/Verizon cell service which gets very little reception in Wyoming and zero reception at the property. Thankfully we were able to maintain spotty contact off property and everything was alright. Views were amazing as promised. Kids loved hiking the mountain to get the full scope. The night sky is something else.

Cabin with killer views

The cabin has incredible views from the large deck and big windows in the LR and upstairs BR. The decor is casual cabin, with wood floors, live edge wooden countertops, a leather couch and recliner, deer and elk horns, eclectic cowboy art and wood paneled walls. It’s cool on sunny, hot days and cozy on cool nights. The nighttime sky is absolutely filled with stars. The owner was communicative and very helpful, including on-the-spot suggestions for local activities. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again!

Best of VRBO

We (2 adults, 2 kids: 11 & 13) stayed here for only one night, but it was truly one of the best places we have ever stayed. I say this for 2 reasons: first, the mountaintop experience is truly unique and worth every cent—we were in awe—breathtaking, indescribable view, brightest starry night we’ve ever seen, sunrise over the Badlands, wildlife all around… Second is that this is probably the best VRBO experience I’ve ever had. Cody is very kind and communicative, the check in and out processes are super simple, and the place is stocked to the brim with food, supplies, and thoughtfully provided fun activities . Everything works, amenities are high quality and plentiful, and even the grill is very nice. Seriously, you will be glad you stayed here. We sure are, and we hope to be back.

Enjoyed every second of our stay.

Listing states you need a 4wd to make it here and I don’t disagree but we did it with two Honda Odyssey’s (mini vans) that were seriously overloaded. Just keep it in L when it gets steep, turn off your traction control and don’t let off the throttle and you should be fine. The views are like no other and we had the best time just hanging out at the property. We had 3 kids, no internet nor cell service and I didn’t get one complaint from the kids. Everyone absolutely loved it here and asked to stay another day but it was booked. Hike up to the peak behind the house if you get a chance, totally worth it. Would definitely stay again. Cody was extremely helpful and answered every question we asked.

The View! And the Cabin is awesome too.

Great communication. Phenomenal views…really you can’t beat these views. Waking to the sunrise over the mountains is about as good as it gets. Every bit of the cabin has been thoughtfully designed and the decor is full of Dubois and WY history. Highly recommend.
