Located in the heart of the Finger Lakes about 30 minutes from Ithaca, the Cayuga Shoreline is the perfect lakeside vacation retreat for groups. The farmhouse sleeps up to 14 people and the entire building was recently renovated. Enjoy lake views from nearly every room, along with lake access.
NOTE: This listing does not include the cottages, as they are closed from Nov 1 - May 1. If you need additional lodging, we have a beautiful three-bedroom apartment next door.
The Farmhouse has a large, open kitchen and living area surrounded by a wraparound porch that is an ideal central gathering space. There is one bedroom and bathroom on the main floor, and two bedrooms, a sleeping loft, and another bathroom upstairs.
The property sits right on the water with over 300’ of lake frontage, and you can see the lake from almost every room.
Guests will have private access to the entire property. There is a new commercial washer and dryer in the farmhouse guests can use, and everyone can feel free to spread out and take advantage of all of the lake life accessories available on site.
I live in the area and I’m regularly close by or at the property next door. I’m very familiar with the area and happy to help you with suggestions of things to do or places to check out. You’ll have as much privacy as you want, but as much access and information as you need.
The neighborhood is great! The street is mostly residential, though there’s a great seasonal restaurant and bar called O’Malley’s right next door. It’s a wonderful neighborhood to walk or ride bikes, and there are usually lots of other people on vacation or wine tours in the area. You’ll probably count more people on foot, bikes, golf carts, or horseback than cars!
Right up the street is Sheldrake Point Winery, which is home to the region’s favorite rosé, and the property is just off the Cayuga Lake wine trail, which includes the Finger Lakes Cider House, Thirsty Owl, Hosmer, the new Liquid State North Shore, Cayuga Ridge, Lucas, Buttonwood, Toro Run, and many others. Everything Ithaca has to offer is a beautiful 30 minute ride, and the Seneca Lake wine trail is just a short 20 minute drive through Amish farm country.
A personal vehicle is required for this location.
There’s a lot to love about this place! The property is historic and has been home to all kinds of interesting things over the years. The farmhouse used to be owned by the captain of the Busy Bee Ferry, which operated out of the point next door. You can see pictures of the boat and some stories about it throughout the house, and you can even still see some parts of it at the bottom of the lake by our dock, where it was sunken at the end of its life.
