Welcome to the Sea Turtle Cottage, a private "dependency" cottage under a magnificent magnolia tree cottage in the heart of New Bern’s historic district. You’ll enjoy being within walking distance of downtown New Bern, just a few houses from the river, and it’s best restaurants and attractions.

Take advantage of rare off-street parking in the historic district as well as a large, private backyard!

The perfect cottage

Everything about the Sea Turtle Cottage was perfect. Located in the historic district, only one block from the river, the inn has been updated inside to provide all the amenities we like when we travel. The yard was beautifully landscaped and private. My visit was in June so I had no reason to use the fire pit, but it was inviting. As was the hammock under the trees and the hot tub. I will definitely stay at The Sea Turtle again. Crystal and Ray were the best hosts.

Home away from home.

Even better than the photos! As I told the hosts Chrystal & Ray, and my friends and relatives that visited me, I would rather stay at Sea Turtle Cottage than any of the 4 & 5 star places that I have been to previously.

Cute Cottage

Cottage was perfect for our stay. Very spacious kitchen, bedroom and living space. Screened in porch and back yard was very relaxing. Clean and very welcoming. Walking distance to downtown, river front, shops and dining. Definitely stay there again on our next visit to New Bern

Business Trip

My family stayed at the sea turtle cottage while I was on a business trip in the area. The cottage was well maintained and decorated. My wife and daughter were extremely comfortable during our stay. Ray & Crystal were wonderful host, they are among the most attentive host I have ever had while staying at rental properties all over the country.

Spring Break in New Bern

My partner and I wanted to get away from the city (Philly) with our dog, Charlie. Though the weather didn't always cooperate, our trip was fantastic thanks to the Sea Turtle Cottage! The hosts were wonderful and very communicative. The cottage was peaceful and comfortable. Charlie loved being so close to the water and stalking the squirrels in the backyard! We will definitely return!

A perfect New Bern getaway

Everything awesome from check in to checkout. Super hosts! I was able to walk the whole town easily and the glorious sunrise was right out my door over the river. Also a delight to stroll the historic district and see the wonderful old homes close up! I’ll be back!

Relaxing - everything within walking distance

The star of this property is the owners. Very inviting and approachable. I enjoyed the backyard watching the birds and other animals. The house has got a very comfortable vibe. Will will be back next year.

Walk Away Your Worries

Sea Turtle Cottage exceeded our expectations. It was in the perfect spot for walking on the river, walking to eat again and again, walking to explore such a lovely town. Our hosts were amazing a d the cottage had a comfy bed, an excellent big screen tv with so many choices, and a never-ending hot shower. Book it whenever you can....you won't be disappointed.

Quiet Location in the Midst of Beautiful Downtown New Bern

Perfect location for us to visit this charming town! We thoroughly enjoyed walking through the beautiful neighborhood to enjoy the river just about a block away. Cute shops and delicious local restaurants were an easy 5 -10 min walk away, yet our cottage was very private and quiet. Hosts were very friendly, responsive, and kind. They provided bottled water and snacks, and a great list of ways to enjoy New Bern. We appreciated the cottage being dog-friendly. The off-street parking in front of the cottage made it very easy and convenient to unpack. The space is bigger and more sun-lite than expected. Great hooks by the front door! A small thing but thoughtful for guests. Thanks Ray and Chrystal for letting us stay in your cute and convenient cottage!

Tidy, cute, ideally located. Owners offer A+ hospitality. All the amenities you’ll want. Plus, EV charging plug for our ID.4 - This is a great home base for exploring New Bern.

Awesome little cottage

Asweome little cottage nestled in a quiet little street just a few blocks from the heart of town. The location is great easily walkable to lots of great food and many different historical sites. We were there for a family wedding and could not have been happier. Would recommend to any family or friends, and would stay again.

Amazing place

We had such a wonderful time at this place! It has everything needed to make it feel like "home away from home". Ray and Krystal were super hosts! We enjoyed the fire pit both nights (plenty of wood) and the hot tub was awesome too after we ran the Colors for Cancer race Saturday morning. We cooked out on the grill Friday night and had everything we needed to prepare the rest of our meal inside. Thank y'all for making our trip great! We will be back for sure!

Wonderful Wedding Anniversary!

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful cottage! The home and amenities were clean and welcoming, and the hosts went above and beyond to help us celebrate our anniversary! The location can’t be beat and there are shops, historical tours, restaurants, and bars around every corner. We can’t wait to visit again!

This little cottage was perfect for my needs. It was cozy and spacious. Loved having it close enough to walk to the river, downtown, and the convention center. Would definitely stat there again. Loved being surrounded by greenery.

Perfect in so many ways!

Our hosts were lovely people. The electric charger was a huge help to lessen our anxiety in returning home (small towns can be a challenge ) The property was so convenient and attractive. We had plenty of room and thankful the person using the sofa bed didnt have to go through our bedroom to get to the bathroom. Kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Sheets and towels were plentiful and comfortable. Hot tub was great after our MS ride and clean. Daughter said sofa bed was really soft and uncomfortable. We figured out the tv since it was US open weekend and we were happy ! If any future improvement is made I’d suggest king bed. We don’t usually stay at VRBO homes but we’d love to come back! Thank you so much !

Wonderful Cottage

Beautiful cottage for two

This was a great spot, excellent location in a quiet neighborhood just steps from the waterfront and easy walk to town. The cottage was immaculate, well stocked with soaps, coffee fixings, and has a beautiful backyard. There are bikes to use, a hammock in the shade, a hot tub, and it’s pet friendly. The furnishings are very nice. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful spot!

We had a lovely weekend in New Bern at the Sea Turtle Cottage. The hosts were so kind (it was nice to get to meet them at check-in!) and on top of everything, plus flexible with the check in/out times. The cottage is perfect for a visit - great location for walking around, and we really enjoyed getting takeout and sitting on the screened-in porch. The hammock was a great napping spot :) The cottage was equipped with everything we needed. (We chose not to do any cooking on our vacation, but we did see pots, pans, etc.). Thank you, we look forward to returning!!
