The Neuhaus an der Pegnitz market with the Veldenstein castle is a popular holiday resort in the upper Pegnitz valley. Neuhaus is located in the Franconian Switzerland - Veldensteiner Forest Nature Park and is surrounded by one of the largest contiguous forest areas in Germany, around 400 m above sea level. Here you will find all shops for daily needs, including a doctor, dentist, pharmacy, hairdresser, post office, bank and savings bank.

The charming landscape invites you to do a variety of activities in every season. B. Nordic walking, long walks, hikes or cycling and climbing tours. Carriage rides are also possible. 200 km of well-marked circular hiking trails and a further 160 km of IVV hiking trails across meadows and through wonderful mixed forest are signposted. On the way you will find caves, crevices, karst springs and a bizarre rock world with single rocks and rock labyrinths. Climbing routes require beginners as well as experts.

You can do sports by fishing, canoeing on the Pegnitz, playing tennis or horse riding. In bad weather, our fitness room will delight you, with table tennis, electr. Treadmill, bike trainer and some other sports equipment.

Neuhaus is widely known for its "municipalities", where traditional beer is served and hearty snacks are offered. Our restaurants are highly valued for their excellent and inexpensive gastronomy and have a wide range and some Franconian delicacies ready for you.

The regional express train takes you to the old town of Nuremberg in half an hour. The train leaves the Neuhaus station every hour. For those who like it more comfortable, there is also a slow train that stops at each station. Then you are about 50 minutes away. This train also runs every hour.

Neuhaus an der Pegnitz can be easily reached by car via the A9 Nuremberg / Berlin motorway, Plech / Neuhaus exit or by train.
