It was a welcoming, inviting place to stay. Everything we needed to cook some meals and have our morning coffee. Loved the coloring books and kids books for our children. Janalee and Erik were so nice and helpful!Really enjoyed our stay!
All was good!
The basement had everything we needed.
Blanding is a little pretty town to stay a few days.
Thanks to Janalee for taking time to talk with us :)

My husband and son stayed here they really loved the place. They were very disappointed there was not TV however.
In the middle of a 5 week camping trip we enjoyed the showers, beds, and washer/dryer. Nicely priced, clean, quiet, and allows pets. Don’t miss the Edge of the Cedars State Park.

Comfortable family setting with a good location for day trips in and out of parks and monuments. The apartment is very private with good parking. The Edge of the Cedars park and museum is at the end of the street. We were there three days and could have stayed longer with more to do.

The place was not very clean. But that said we had a lovely stay. All you need was there, even a nice welcoming box with goodies. And a perfect location for canyon land hikes.
We came to town last minute for a funeral and needed a place to stay that allowed our dog. We didn't spend a ton of time in the unit but felt very welcome and were happy to have a place to stay. The owner was very good at communicating and helped us to add on an extra night last minute and answered the questions we had.
Nice basement apartment central to southern Utah state and national parks with a very welcoming host
This was a modest basement apartment attached to the host's house with a fairly private side entrance down a flight of 12 stairs off a short gravel driveway. The appliances were dated but functional and satisfactory. The dining area was a little proscribed, but not a fatal flaw for our group. Sleeping accommodations were adequate and access to the museums and parks was wonderful. The host was quite friendly and even kind to our curious 5-yr-old when he had important questions about her goats and horses.

It is a typical basement apartment. There are two bedrooms, a bathroom and kitchen. It is modestly furnished, and comfortable.
The bathroom and kitchen are due for an update.

The Grovers were super responsive and accommodating. They are awesome. We needed to a special early check-in due to a same day funeral at noon. We were able to quickly wash/dry and iron laundry and make it on time.
The decor is as the name suggests - like staying with Grandma. No frills and not roomy, but clean and comfy. My only suggestion would be to get a cheap wall mount smart TV for the kitchen area.
The town was really nice and close to lots of beautiful sights. The basement was a nice place to relax and have some room to spread out compared to all the motels we stayed in during the trip. It was nice to have two bedrooms. The washer and dryer came in handy as we were halfway through our trip and could wash clothes. Jamal we met us outside to show us how to get in and where to park. She was helpful when we left as well. Not fancy but everything we needed.

Cozy, comfy, clean, and quiet.
GMH provided a basket of goodies such as coffee pods, granola bars, and s'mores, which was a nice touch!
The rooms were all clean, as were the kitchen/dining and bathroom.
The communication from GMH was very good, but I was out of internet/phone range so I did not receive all the messages until after I had arrived.
...not to worry, GMH made thoughtful arrangements for my family and me to check in etc and everything turned out perfectly.
My family will stay here again!

We arrived on Sunday and the entire town was closed. Had to have dinner at subway. Only other choice was A&W. Grocery stores were also closed. Also not even a TV at the house.
Grandma's hideaway was the perfect stopping place for our family on our journey to AZ for Christmas. The photos don't do it justice, it's a perfect little hideaway. This was a warm cozy stop for us and our dogs. We used the kitchen to cook dinner and breakfast for our family. We will absolutely try to stay here again.
We have a special-needs adult child, so when we travel, we look for hotels with small suites. These hotels are hard to find in SE Utah. My wife found this listing on VRBO, and it fit our needs well. It was nice to have comfortable beds for all of us, without all of the chain hotel blandness.
Grandma Marva's Hidehout was perfect for our long weekend. Although we didn't spend much time there as we were out riding side-by-sides during the day, it was nice to have a warm shower and comfortable bed at the end of a long day. The Hideout was clean, adequately furnished and equipped with everything we needed ... much more comfortable and economical than a stuffy motel room! We highly recommend the place and will definitely stay there on our next adventure to the area. Janalee and Eric are wonderful hosts.
My husband Erik & I Bought this Home from his Grandma Marva. She had the apartment built with the house. We have lived in it for 22 years & raised our family here. Now it is just the two of us in this big house
